  1. Well even more of a reason to just do gathering professions. You don't have to deal with any of the hassle of recipes, missions, reverse engineering, or anything else. Just grab the plant while questing. Next time you're on fleet find out what it's selling for, and put up your stack. Duck soup.
  2. It does seem like a lot, but it's really not so bad. Just take a couple of gathering professions and put materials you find up on the GTN. I bet you have no problems making 100k by lvl 20.
  3. I noticed that as well. It says it in game though, at least I'm pretty sure that's the same one. It wouldn't let me equip it on my companion, claiming it was only for troopers and jedi knights. I came across this one as well: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/18125/lacqerous-mesh-helmet, but wasn't sure if that would have the same problem or not. There was another as a reward for a Herioc4 on Alderaan, but I foolishly turned it down for the tokens back then.
  4. I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find something that looks like the commando's helmet (http://www.torhead.com/item/hawGGP0/commandos-helmet) for a companion? It seems I can't use the commando one since my companion isn't considered a 'trooper'. I'm rather fond of the look, and would be pleased to bits if I could replace the fugly ones they're using now.
  5. Never allow your companions a moment's rest. If they overwhelm you with supplies, don't panic, just put the excess on the market and savor the extra cash flow. Oh, and also a big fan of Biochem/Bioanalysis too! Though I like to take archeology in the 3rd slot, as the crystals and artifacts seem to sell well.
  6. I know this is silly, but this is something that has bothered me for a while. When you're advancing your character's story, there are many times you will have a conversation with someone over the intercom when you arrive at a new planet. The General will say something like "I see you've landed on Alderann." However, I'll stroll over to my bridge shortly afterwards, and clearly I'm still in orbit. If I choose to leave the ship, I'll see a short clip where my ship will land on the planet. Silly yes, but it's always struck me as an awkward moment.
  7. Super advice really. If you look at the price of buying armoring, mods, etc. of some of the blue or green gear is very reasonable. For myself I've also found it troublesome to have more orange gear than I can upgrade with commendations from the planets; like 3 or so pieces, maybe 4 if my companions can make do with hand-me-downs? Of course, if you'd prefer to make more money (and who wouldn't!) you could try to sell archeology crystals to people who are leveling skills maybe? Honestly, I have no clue if how smart of an idea that is, but It's made for comfortable living at least.
  8. You won't be disappointed; body shape 1, some little person syndrome and a giant gun to back up the attitude.
  9. So much this. With the jedi I felt really constrained on some of the choices, you know because of their code of ethics. I realize its not critical or anything, but I always felt like I should be living up to those standards. The smuggler was a lot more fun, but I never could get over That and the opportunity to use a really big gun as a healer sold me on trooper, at least for now...
  10. You don't sound unreasonable at all Gaunte; any relief at all would be helpful. Myself, I was lucky enough to snatch up a couple of my favorite names earlier, but it's certainly becoming more of a struggle. Just the other day I wasted no less than 40 minutes (and going through no less than 100 names!) frantically trying to think up one that hadn't been taken for my new smuggler. Oh well; fingers crossed, and I hope you can get your name somehow.
  11. When you ask your spouse to do something and wind up wishing you had a mission timer, and that he was as reliable as C2-N2.
  12. Well I will be more careful what I say then; wouldn't want to spoil the lively debate.
  13. lulz Well either way, you just gave me a good chuckle.
  14. Maybe this is a silly question, but does anyone know how much was spent on voice acting for the game? I can't recall ever getting to see numbers or anything, but am the first to admit I'm not very familiar with this stuff...
  15. Hiyas. I don't know if it's related, but when the price to buy the game came down it made it a lot easier to get started. Being on a budget $15/month isn't so bad, but $60 upfront was too tough of a pill to swallow. The guild I joined with my trooper has a lot of new players. If I had to guess, over half of the guild has started in the last 2 months or so. So yes, we are out here.
  16. You're absolutely correct. I'm mean I have no objections to growing the game, and if they make more money with F2P and that translates into more content for us, I'll certainly be excited then. But in the mean time a little apprehension and some hopeful optimism (maybe even against my better judgement) seems to be what's on the menu.
  17. Honestly I'm just fine with it. It would be very helpful if we knew more of what they were planning, of course. I mean, F2P can mean so many things, and without any concrete details the gossip around here does get pretty bad. Really though, as long as my $15/month remains a good value, I'm happy to let them do whatever they see fit.
  18. I'm happy. But firstly, I don't play end-game, and really have no intention to, and secondly I've decided I'm not going to get upset about F2P until they actually release it. As long they come through with the "value in the premium experience" (which I read as making it worth our while to subscribe) I'll be fine with it at least personally. I really do wish they'd acknowledge some of the dissatisfaction with the game though. I mean, sweeping all the criticism under the rug like that may make a good business line, but it doesn't endear you to those have legitimate complaints.
  19. Ahhh ok, so there is more to it, I was wondering! Sorry, I mean I don't know anything about what the economy is like, I imagine it's quite rough at times. It's just, I mean, my trooper is my highest level character (a whopping lvl22 atm, yay me!), and she's sitting on like 150k and I'm not too sure what I'm supposed to spend it on. All I've done is send my companions out on their little quest things to gather archeology crystals while I play. Then put them up for auction. I mean It's like 80k/hour or something, it just seemed kind of simple is all. But I'm not burdened with trying to play end game or anything atm either I suppose. :/ Sorry, suppose I just didn't understand. Thank you for helping me out though.
  20. Wait, he means 100k credits right? (sorry, I'm still really new to this game :S) Or is there some point thing I don't know about yet? I mean can't you just get that by sending your companions out to gather some crystals while you do whatever you want or something?
  21. Wait, I'm a little confused... what's so bad about paying 100k? That doesn't seem unreasonable. Or is this just going right over my head?
  22. Ugh yes! Way too much Jedi Knight stuff to sort though, all just to find that one item with +aim on it!
  23. Very fun thread. Anywho, my 2c... 1) Cosmetic options for my spaceship, both inside and out. 2) Barber shop. 3) A romance option for my trooper that isn't a cat.
  24. Can I QQ for you a little? Personally I like earning items in game, it's part of what makes it fun for me. Not that I have a huge objection to people buying the same items I guess, but it kinda depends. I mean lets say it takes me months of doing dailies or something to earn gear needed to do some raid/PvP/whatever content, and someone else pays like $40 and gets the stuff the very first day. So like I know we're both in the same gear and everything in the end, but if very few people are interested in doing the content by the time I earn my gear (old content is so old...) my months of dailies were a waste. It's kinda like you were betrayed by a hidden P2W system, which can almost be worse in my mind. I mean, I know its a grey area and all, but still I'm not sure that would be much fun; well just a thought. :\
