  1. Having started coming back to this game after a long break (holy crap have some things changed,) I'm slowly grinding my way through the class stories I didn't do before and just straight up having fun. While I know most care about end-game performance, I'm asking something more on the fun aspect. I remember really liking Force Scream because of how visceral it felt and sounded, so I'm wondering which spec would make the most use out of it?
  2. I'm in the mood for a melee character, and kinda settled on the shi-cho fighters, but couldn't quite make up my mind. Is there any particular reason to go with Guardian over Sentinel, or vice-versa? I will admit Tanking is not really my thing (even though I LOVE playing a Tank Shadow/Assassin, their abilities just feel so comfortable.)
  3. First time back in a couple of years (Togruta hadn't been released when I last played,) and some of the new things, like the Story Quest icons, just blend in way too much on the map. My eyes and colors have never really gotten along well... Anyhoo, is there a colorblind setting that I'm missing? If not, is there a way I can change the colors of the Story Quest icons so they stand out a bit more for me?
  4. Perfect, I just got my monthly stipend, so I'm definitely buying one Tuesday.
  5. I always thought the grass was rather crap looking and shouldn't be so tall and springy with all the blood/oil I'm splattering over it. I keep it turned off. Gives some frame boosts too.
  6. Heck, I'd just settle for 200. It's what WoW has, and it's a pretty comfortable total.
  7. Excitement levels rising. I can soon™ make that Togruta Jedi Knight I've been thinking of for who knows how long.
  8. Considering my Togruta will be male, as all my characters are, I don't think you'll have to worry about an Ahsoka clone from me. Not saying I won't use the same skin color, but it'll be unknowingly, because my eyes have been hating me lately. Stupid colorblindness...
  9. It probably won't hurt us THAT much. We have class-style Adaptive Armors in the Cartel Market these days, oh the number of times I've seen a smuggler wearing armor that belongs to a trooper, had to stop and think for a moment what was up. And if you're afraid of it ruining PvP because we can't tell at a glance what class we're fighting, well, just don't have outfits work in PvP.
  10. At least it used to be an Agent ability. The Legacy skill for Inquisitors is Force Storm, because clearly we would never consider being an Assassin at all. Nope. Never gonna happen.
  11. I love these kind of things. You use a code from someone, get a code of your own to share. It's like one big group hug, only less creepy, and less of a chance of someone farting as soon as they get squeezed. http://www.swtor.com/user/ce/11hmh4
  12. My memory's saying that the female models were always shorter than the male models of equivalent number.
  13. Oh gods, Force Choke in that game. I never thought of using it to cause troopers to drop their weapons, I just jerked the mouse and chucked them somewhere. It's not ME killing all those troopers, it's gravity. And gravity must be obeyed, it's the LAW.
  14. Well, to be fair, Free-to-Play and Preferred are kinda limited and don't really have that much of a choice. Maybe they should see what percentage of SUBSCRIBERS play humans. I mean, I love to play aliens myself, particularly rattataki for some weird reason, but humans do get so many nice customizations...
  15. I slapped Treek. Repeatedly. For about half an hour. Being a Sith Pureblood is fun, isn't it?
  16. So you're talking about realism in a fictitious universe? Why must realism apply to a fictitious universe? If this is not real enough for you, may I suggest looking outside. Actually, scratch that, plenty of weird things out there. Also, lekku conversation is very subtle, minor twitches at most. Sign language, for it to be effective, is not really so subtle. And tell me why a somersault is so important? How about a shoulder roll? Or a proper front flip? Centrifugal force (a real thing, I might add, since you seem to prefer realism) would do wonders for keeping the "large dangly bits," as you so eloquently put them, where they belong.
  17. One of the main advantages of soloing as an Operative is the stealth ability. Don't feel like fighting your way through a mass mob of enemies to get to your goal or get out of it? Stealth on through, Sap what you need to, and move on. Concealment, I think it's called, the Knife one, is decently powerful while soloing. Yes, it's not really called for in end-game stuff, but you can quickly stab things down. The main reason people suggest Healing is because of how long you're stuck with Kaliyo, and even your second companion is a melee DPS, which equates to squishy. The main problem with Operatives is their horrible AoE, from what I've experienced so far on my Scoundrel. Snipers are much better in the AoE department, letting you mow down groups of mobs faster and easier. And if you can manage Kaliyo enough to keep threat on all things, you can really mow them down as a Sniper. However, as a rule, your mobility is horrible and your ability to deal with things in your face even more so. At least with an Operative you can stealth right after a story moment is done and back away, ready to get the upper hand on a fight. A sniper is kinda stuck there with people in its face.
  18. Some of the armors are messin' with my mind then. They are pretty impressively huge.
  19. Endurance is just plain useful to everyone. Less time spent dead is more time spent killing. Vanguards, Powertechs, Commandos and Mercenaries are all about the Aim. A splattering of Cunning (all from Datacrons) isn't bad either, since it improves the power of the Tech abilities. Strength is WORTHLESS, despite hitting things physically from time to time, those attacks are in fact Tech attacks, and rely on Aim and Cunning for their damage. Guardians, Juggernauts, Sentinels and Marauders are all about the Strength, and can use a splattering of Willpower from Datacrons for better Force power. Focusing on Willpower is just silly, since they need Strength to deal most of their damage with their attacks. Aim and Cunning are 100% worthless. Shadows and Assassins are all about the Willpower, with a splattering of Strength Datacrons to improve their melee damage. Like the Melee Force classes, Aim and Cunning are worthless. Sages and Sorcerers are strictly Willpower. They are the only class with a singular stat Focus. Strength does nothing for them since they never use Melee attacks. Willpower doesn't even improve their weapon damage at all, unlike their Shadow and Assassin cousins. That's the main stats. Secondary stats needed are always based on your class and spec. For instance, Tanks don't really need Accuracy, since their Tank Stance puts them above the accuracy needed. Surge, Power, Crit Chance and Alacrity vary based on the spec. Check out Dulfy. Oh, final note, Presence is only useful if you're alone with your Companions. Has absolutely no use in PvP or Group Content like Flashpoints and Operations, unless, for some silly reason, you happen to have your Companion with you.
  20. No, let them use that as a name, makes it easier to find them, saves having "proper" names free for the rest of us to use.
  21. At least they're still vaguely humanoid. It's not like, say, Turians, with their silly little side mouth mandible thingies and the like. Or their ungulate legs. Or heck, their different protein structure that makes them pretty much incompatible with other species in any way, shape or form. Or how about them Krogan. Yes, we love them. They are awesome. But how does that super-hunched body move around properly? They're head's so low compared to other "humanoid" beings, it just doesn't balance out. The "head gear" as you so nicely put it, is quite different on a Togruta. The montrals are hollow, allowing for sound to bounce into them as a form of echolocation. You know, that thing bats use. It makes them hunters. How about the lekku on a Twi'lek? They're more than just extended brain holders, they can be used to talk entirely without major motion or noise needed. Why is that such a big thing? The predators on Ryloth are something to be feared. Being able to talk without motion or some psychic power is an amazing survival trick. Plus later on, as they became a very enslaved race, I imagine it allowed secret communication that their captors couldn't really understand.
  22. Newish confession: I REALLY want to make a Jedi Knight on Jung Ma, where I've settled down in, but I also REALLY want to make it a Togruta. I keep breaking down and making others then deleting them... Currently fighting with the idea of making a Twi'lek Jedi Knight but keep thinking I'm just gonna delete him really fast...
  23. Just right click the mail and select report. You can then report for spam or harassment. However, do note that reporting for spam does not block the person. They may re-send you a mail, and you'll still get it. Unfortunately.
  24. Now I'm pondering the potential of weaponizing all that Green Goo my characters gather...
