  1. From a PvP PoV, Sorc/Sage > Ops/Scoundrel > Merc/Commando Each class has a specific playstyle, so probably good to test all, as you can do decent heals with the 3 and be useful. Merc/Commando got nice survivability boost with 5.0 but lack a lot of healing output. Ops/Scoundrel would need a bit more HPS and better burst healing, probably a damage reduction when stunned like the other 2 healers. Sorc/Sage are ok.
  2. People don't know the system will be changed in 4 weeks with 5.1 to let us work for specific set parts ?
  3. Keep your armorings with set bonus from previous expansions, change your mods/enhancements/augments with purple 228s which are easy to craft then you are really close to a 230 item with set bonus from command crates. As for my main, rank 44 : one item with set bonus and a few useless crafting schematics
  4. When are you going to increase the respawn rate of the boss, Valen Korik ? Seriously, I just did it, there was only one instance of DK and 10 people waiting at the boss. Why is it that hard to make that boss respawn faster ? or Why is the area public ? If people had their own instance, there would be no queue at the boss...
  5. First, after Makeb (RotHC) and things going with it (CZ-198, Oricon), it's Shadows of Revan (SoR) expansion (Rishi, Yavin 4 and Ziost) then KotFE. Starting KotFE doesn't stop players to do or finish Makeb but it does for SoR. My advice would be to move on to SoR or KotFE directly (if you never want to do SoR) and go back later to Makeb once they fix it again.
  6. I don't, I did everything except HM FPs, Ops and World Bosses. I'm not a fan of group PvE in general, for 3 main reasons: it's scripted, repetitive and mechanics are mostly not fun the stupid crowd the elitist crowd I got involved a bit at launch in group PvE but found thoses 3 problems to be present in SWTOR so I stopped since then to do things I enjoy more. For somes reasons, I only enjoyed group PvE in 2 MMOs, LotRO and AoC, mainly because of the people I was playing with.
  7. What will happen in PvP when a team of fresh lvl 70 will fight a team of Command Rank 300 people in their legendary armor ?
  8. There's no official information about it.
  9. EA never understood that focusing on one thing at a time is not the way to go because it always leave lots of people unhappy. They should have updated each part of the game all the time, upgrading and making new stuff for each part every 6 or 9 months at minimum. But it seems they are happy with the amount of money SWTOR generates now and have no intention on trying to get more which would require investing now to get more later, I think a strange concept for the suits at EA, especially to do so post launch...
  10. Well, you understand what's rng so you should understand there's no real answer to that question. It depends on too many things to give an accurate answer like which pack, when you sell duplicates, on what server you play and of course which sacrifice you made to the RNG God... You can buy an hypercrate, get all the common stuff, be lucky if you sell each duplicate for 50k, get between 500k and 1M from all of them and then realize each rare item you don't have are sold for 5 to 50M or you can get lucky and get 2 of thoses rare items in an hypercrate, wait a few months and maybe you will be able to sell one for 50M and buy everything else in the pack
  11. That's a lie... data for Legion was mainly added with the pre-expansion patch (7.0.3) in July and was somewhat corrected and fixed since then through multiple restarts and hotfixes... As for the no restart at the time the expansion launches, BW got the same tech, they used it before for some early access starts and it's the same tech that enable the start of new events on Tuesday.
  12. I don't mind which timezone they use as long as the conversion (US/EU) is correctly done... which was rarely the case at launch when they gave many timezones (PDT, EDT, BST, CEST, AEST, ...) or later on when they used PDT and UTC. It seems they are able to use PDT / BST correctly, if it ain't broke, don't fix it... also i saw quite a few English people not knowing the difference between GMT and BST..
  13. It's not a bug, it's a tutorial mode. If i remember right, just press ESC to get the menu, you should be able to turn it off there

  15. *Increased the item stack limit to 9,999 units. I can finally store all my crafting resources/components in my legacy bank. *Increased warzone comms cap and being able to transfer them between alts. I leveled many characters doing PvP mainly and thoses changes helped a lot. I remember using the buying/selling PvP weapons trick and forgetting too often the timer limit for refund, wasting comms. Leveling is easier but imo it made the game worse. It's also easier to travel, it's somewhat good but I can't agree fully. I will use my impressions on 2 others BW games, ME 1 & 2. In ME1, I feel like I'm in a big galaxy with big worlds. ME2 feels small.
  16. I'm not sure what bug you're trying to report or if there's even a bug... The class icons are in the same order for me than for you. While it's not sorted the same way for each faction, it doesn't have to and I doubt it has any gameplay effect. As for your token, if you leveled to 61+, it's used and there's no bug. If you didn't, make sure your ticket about the token refund is not a bug report and wait.
  17. I agree and disagree at same time. I agree the game is going in many directions, I also wrote more than once that what the main focus was was not really clear. I disagree that having different kinds of content is a problem, imo that's what MMOs must do, somewhat appeal to many different people. The problem is the inability for BW/EA to handle all at same time. They can't produce all the different contents that are needed quickly enough, everything is too slow. It shouldn't be a choice between this or that, it should be everything often enough, we should have new warzone map, GSF map, flashpoint, operation at least every 6 months while also adding story, making balance passes, checking systems to be expanded/tweaked.... The problem is the ressources devoted to the game and how costly each change seems to be. As for the main focus, it should have been decided before launch and they should have sticked to that since.
  18. You still don't address the fact that buffs/nerfs are also made for PvE. Each time devs would see some class/spec overperforming, content done with class/spec stacking, class/spec named "useless" for some PvE content, some nerfs/buffs would still be made and some people would still be angry. Also, SWTOR is not based on PvE group content, as the main game is solo leveling from starter planets to Ilum, that's SWTOR at the core. PvP, end game PvE, most of the leveling flashpoints are after thought. If you go that road, you don't need balance at all, the core game doesn't need balance, it doesn't really matter while doing your solo story missions if some class/spec has more burst or somewhat more DPS. So they should make special servers for group PvE too because group PvE conflict with the leveling stories. As group content requires people to play together, some kind of balance must be found between class/spec, this forces buffs/nerfs. So now we need 3 kinds of servers and group PvE content ruins MMOs...
  19. Class nerfs and buffs are made because of both kind of content, PvP AND PvE. For both sides the problem is balance. It's easy to find reasons for PvE buffs/nerfs, from too much/too little DPS which break content and progression, too much DPS on some class/spec lead to class stacking and removing for some class/spec any chance to do end game PvE. So your title is misleading, I could be as right saying PvE ruin MMOs. As for your point of splitting server per content, one problem I see is it would force devs to do some things twice like every time they add content, they would have to test it twice as much because the difference on both sides could lead to bugs and problems. But mainly, there's a much easier solution, one that also don't force people to level twice for each kind of server, that solution is to have abilities/passive/... work somewhat differently in PvE and PvE. There's nothing that stops BW to have like all damages and healings be calculated differently in PvE and PvP. If one skill do too much damage and the burst that comes from it is too big, just adjust the damage of that abilities in the content it causes troubles...
  20. There's a purple mission on the fleet that leads you to Boarding Party/Taral V/The Foundry/Maelstrom Prison for your faction. There's one too for Directive 7 on the fleet, purple too. For Battle of Ilum/The False Emperor, you are led to them on Ilum at the end of the Ilum arc that starts once you finished your class story (might need to be 51) Assault on Tython/Korriban Incursion/Manaan Research Facility/Legacy of the Rakata are part of the prelude to Shadow of Revan expansion, starts the prelude on your ship (same place you start makeb/oricon/prelude to SoR/SoR/KotFE). Blood Hunt/Battle of Rishi are done during the Shadow of Revan expansion, story leads you to them in time.
  21. Just because a part of it works doesn't mean everything works. I helped someone yesterday with that, it depends what name or what part of the name you enter in the filter. Like on my server if I choose "Item modification" category and "Augment" subcategory, I got 127 pages of all kinds of augments for all levels. If I enter in the name filter the word "Augment", there's only 36 pages left when it's still should be 127 because all augments are named "augment". If instead, I enter "Versatile" I got 1 page when they are tons of thoses for sale. If I enter "Advanced Versatile Augment 40", I got 0 answer when there's also tons for sale. So yes the GTN is broken, not completely which is somewhat good, it's still a bug that should be fixed. I'm not sure how your attitude "I haven't noticed bugs so they don't exist" that helpful btw.
  22. There's no dev post, it was said and shown in the Producer Letter Livestream they did 3 days ago, Watch it on YouTube, read about it on dulfy.net... We don't really know what we will got, only what was said/shown so maybe it won't really help for this problem
  23. It's obvious what they are thinking and it's not something new in the game. You have reached max level, the leveling is done (the supplies vendors in the outer ring are there for that). You are now going into end-game which involves, at least that's how some people see it, a grind or repeatable content. For the repeatable content to keep you busy long enough, they have to slow down your gearing, that's why the end-game vendors in supplies area sell armor pieces at higher prices. You'll need bigger amount of currencies (crystals, money, ..) to buy a piece, you'll need more time to gather that, you'll play longer without asking for new content. Btw they already announced that with the next chapter, there would be some crafting changes for solo players to enable them to make powerful stuff.
  24. Dunno, don't remember a dev post saying they wanted it to be optional, only players like me asked for an optional nerf. The fact BW has troubles understanding their playerbase is another problem. There have been many threads about that. The thing is as they could understand any critic the wrong way, you think it would be better if we only posted things saying this or that is good and shut up about things we think can be made better ? Each time they don't please people, even a small minority, it reduces the playerbase, which reduces the money they get and thus the things they can do. Players should push game companies to do more, not less. And btw for me atm missions are a grind even more so than they were before 4.0. Sure the xp makes it a short one, it's still a grind, a time-sink that serves no purpose.
  25. First I'm not against feeling overpowered if it's up to players to decide if that's what they want or not. If you are happy with the game like it is atm, I have no problem with that. I don't want to remove anything from people that are happy. My goal isn't to force people to play my way, I just would like BW to add ways for players to adjust things, for themselves only, so they can enjoy the game more. There's 3 things mainly I would like: a way to reduce XP or to stop earning it a way to adjust my synced level a way to adjust my companion efficiency Thoses 3 things would be optional and off by default so players that don't want thoses things or are unaware they exist would have 100% the same gaming experience they have now. Again, I can understand that some people are happy with things how they are and I don't want to make things worse for them. I explained that before the companion nerf and I can do it again... Nerfs and buffs like BW did are terrible ideas. There are many different kind of players playing MMOs, the usual "groups" we talk about are in fact way more complex than that. You can't simply reduce people to basic archetypes like hardcores, casuals, PvP'ers or whatever. In all thoses groups, while they share Something, they also often disagree about something else. So when BW releases thoses buffs and nerfs, they only please a part of the playerbase, which is stupid. Even when they try to find a compromise, they still don't please many people. Some people still want companions to be like they were in 4.0, some people still think companions are too good atm... So instead of trying to find a decent compromise that is just ok for a part of the community and wrong for some other part, why not let each player define for himself how things should be ? Why force feed us a general "solution" when each player could define its own, making the game better for himself without changing anything for others ? I can tell you how I play and what's the problem for me but that's not relevant, I don't want the game to change to answer my playstyle, I want it to change to appeal to as many people as possible. The goal isn't to make the game good for Joe Schmoe or me only but for lots of people with many different ways to play and many different interests. Anyway here's the main things I do in game missions warzones (regs) GSF I'm crafting for myself and do once in a while normal flashpoints. The consequences of doing thoses things are for me: I'm leveling too fast I'm always overleveled My character is always too good My companion is always too good Just in case, yes I know I don't have to do all theses things, I also know I can play without a companion, or in passive mode, or with some abilities disabled and I can choose to play without upgrading my gear or with a hand tied in my back or whatever... The problem with thoses "solutions" is that they reduce what the game is, removing features just to make some others acceptable. Also they are completely unpractical, I would be spending my time micro managing things, summoning/unsomming companions based on content and conversations, enabling/disabling skills based on the mobs I'm facing, keeping multiple sets of gear, some times even for multiple roles to have good gear while doing warzones or flashpoints and bad gear for solo missions and somewhere in between for harder content, switching between them based on content, the companion I would use in convos couldn't be the one I fight with... Again the goal isn't to force players to play my way, nor it is for you to tell me I should be happy because I can do this or that crap, the goal is to increase how adaptable the game is to various playstyles because in the end, the more people are happy, the bigger the playbase is, the more EA/BW makes money, the more they can expand and improve the game....
