  1. I wish I had a good answer for you, but the truth is that it's always been this way. You can only see conversations/cutscenes that are either party wide (e.g. planet missions) or are inside your buddy's personal phase. Oddly this doesn't seem to include hangars or spaceships. Yes, this is annoying.
  2. Everything my personal opinion. JK gets better after chapter 2. Overall decent. Jedi Sage is just generally slow. Never again. Smuggler is a bit muddled and doesn't seem to always fit the class. It's ok. Trooper fits the class well, so if you like being a bit miiitary, will be fun. Good. Agent is like evil James Bond, really well written and the sardonic voice acting (for male at least) is magic. #1 Class story Sith Inquisitor fits the class well, I really enjoyed all the sithy rituals and stuff. #2 class story. Sith Warrior lacks depth, for me. Is ok. Bounty Hunter again fits the class well, hunting with some Mandalorian stuff thrown in. Good. Then again, if your plan is to RP with other people, the class is pretty well irrelevant as you make your own story.
  3. I bought the Mek-sha stage and the cantina performers bundle, thinking to make a stage with well, performers. Does anyone know of a method to make the performers stand ON the stage? They want to stand on the floor, which is below the level of the stage. // Empty stage + Performers with no stage = Wasted my money.
  4. Thank you everyone who contributed. I think I shall pass on running Hammer Station until my brain dissolves out of my ears though. I have a full suite of crafters, which is I guess why I wanted the info, I can now go away and craft "the right number of the right things" to get the "right proportions" which isn't always possible with random drops, though I'm sure the comments for non crafters will be useful to other players in a similar position. Between you all you've given me the exact information I was looking for and some other tips besides, so for answering the OP, not going on a tangent and all being polite, you all officially win at "Internet".
  5. I love the guides that are out there, they go into detail about what gear you should get, the Shakalaka Implant that falls from the Oogly Boogly Boss in the BamBam Operation in NiM. Which, in the unlikely event I do NiM ops, will only drop one time in forty six and when it does, someone else will "need it for his alt" and essentially my chances of seeing such gear are vanishingly small. Short answer, unlikely to be anywhere near BiS gear, but that's ok, I can deal. I don't need that level of gear for the stuff I do, or am likely to do. So my question is are there gearing guides for mere mortals like me? For a tank, what mixture of bastion vs bulwark, or even what absorption vs shield are we aiming for. For DPS, what accuracy vs crit? Healers I imagine don't need accuracy at all. Maybe it's my google fu, but up to date guides that I can find talk about gearing beyond my wildest dreams.
  6. I have a dual monitor setup and my mouse likes to escape into the second monitor and at least drop me out of swtor, possibly even jumping into some other app. Has anyone any good ideas to stop this? I have Windows 10 SWTOR running in Fullscreen (not windowed) I've tried http://dualmonitortool.sourceforge.net/, but this doesn't work. Well, it does - but not for SWTOR. Even if just the launcher is up, it overrides DMT settings. The only way I can stop the mouse escaping is to disable second monitor, which is not what I really want.
  7. Given that tweet is only a couple of weeks old, that's very reassuring. Thankyou @Jennyflynn
  8. ...the Dark Sanctuary. "I take it you have questions?" --Eternal Emperor Valkorian They bring in this place on the ship, make a big deal of it, Valkorian and Senya both have scenes there, then we suddenly forget like it ever existed. The hints that there is so much more to the Gravestone other than it's a powerful ship, with areas we can't get to (remarked upon by HK-55). Then comes Iokath and it's all swept under the carpet, barring it's a powerful Iokath ship. Unlike (for example) the Infinite Empire with their force tech, we only see Iokath using mundane tech - the Dark Sanctuary on the Gravestone is in contrast to this and hints at there being more to the ship within its hidden areas. A promising line of intrigue abandoned?
  9. Should it have been done in the first place? Absolutely yes. Should dev time be spent changing it up now, rather than work on new content? No. In fact it's not even just the dev time. It's the required QA, the possibility of needing voice acting to record gender specific lines. Touching old bits of code tends to make other parts break (romance gifts are already fubar). It's great in theory. In practise far more work than it might appear on the surface.
  10. Can you also clarify the nature of this latest batch of companion returns. Will it be something meaningful, or another set of brief cutscenes that leave one feeling rather empty inside.
  11. IIRC One reaches a point where the girls demand you choose one or the other and that locks in the final romance. If you marry Vette, then you should get the love interest reunion in KOTFE (or KOTET I forget which). AFAIK the only time you can finish a romance with both is with the Agent. Will be interesting to see what happens with my playboy when he meets bow waifu (Temple) and aft waifu (Kaliyo).
  12. Will this not have the effect that new players who enjoy primarily PvE may go to a server full of people who live in PvP instances (on account of being former "PvP server" players) and potentially find grouping a problem?
  13. I've seen this on a couple of characters. I can't remember the first time, but it was on Alderaan in the bonus series. This one is Dr Wylenn on Taris. The eye texture is just... wrong. It's not even like she looks blind, it's just strange. Screenshot: Freaky Eyes Wylenn
  14. My fear would simply be that any company Microsoft acquires would be moved onto XBOX exclusive titles, to the detriment of the PC market. Dragon Age, Mass Effect etc as console only releases would suck.
  15. Yup. Up until now we've at a bare minimum been able to tag along with no influence on the story, quest or conversation. Taking away any choice to play sociably in an MMO is counter to the whole point of the genre.
  16. I'm with everyone here. What a terrible anticlimax. I am so glad I hitched up with Lana, at least she stars in all the new content and I get to see that affection in the story now and again as we carry on through. Better than 30 seconds with Andronikos, however sweet he was, to never have my romance appear in a story again. Really, after making us wait so long, so very long, for the return of these companions, this just doesn't come up to scratch. We all got our favourite thing: Disappointment.
  17. Nope. You can't get a second player into either of those in solo mode. This is in contrast to story mode where you can generally summon another player to a private instance. And the quest require the fp be done in solo mode, not story or any other mode.
  18. I have nothing against soloable content. That's perfectly fine. Have the whole story soloable if you like so people can run it through without needing help. I object to *enforced* solo content in the stories. I don't much care how easy it is, or that two people could totally cheese the entire adventure. It's an MMO and some people like to play with company, even at the expense of any kind of challenge, because they are sociable. My guild has a grandma at 70 years of age. She has zero desire to be doing stuff on her own. She doesn't play for raiding and flashpoints, titles and kudos (well, maybe collecting pets) but she plays because it's a nice social activity for her. So, when we get to Umbara and Traiter Amongst the Chiss which she is forced to do solo (at least once) it's not much fun for her. Can we please if nothing else leave the option to have a buddy run around? It doesn't matter if the buddy advances their quest or not, or even if they have to be party summoned to the instance. Just so that people can have company if they want and maintain the social experience.
  19. There used to be a wierd issue with grass as well, try turning the grass quality way down too.
  20. Missing textures as per the supplied screenshots. My first thought was that I needed to run a repair, but my buddy Jhaegost was seeing it too, so we would need to have the exact same broken file and whilst not impossible, it's stretching the bounds of probability. The screenshots are within the mission, but the problem was visible in the preceding cutscene also. http://mort.level5.net/screenshots/breaching_pod_textures.jpg http://mort.level5.net/screenshots/breaching_pod_textures2.jpg Hard to copy/paste the DXDiag, as it overruns the post limit size by about 30k characters. You might want to look into that too! You can find it HERE.
  21. Not much to say about this. Just after Lana says something about having to blast past some wreckage, I noticed this as per the linked screenie. https://pasteboard.co/GXphfBw.jpg
  22. I did wonder about enrage, but it was only his second jump onto the pipes and it seemed too soon. I had to teach the guys the fight, so maybe after the first couple of wipes it went into some kind of funky bugged early enrage. Yup, I agree. Only one switch needs to be pressed. Just easier if you assign everyone a switch, then it's not the headless chicken show as everyone tries to get to the correct switch in time and never does. If everyone stands at a specific switch then you can at least (I would hope) guarantee to get him down after he moves, if not straight away when he jumps up.
  23. We're trying to fight Sav-Rak, veteran mode. First couple of cycles fine, then he gets up onto the pipe and starts throwing out acid lumps for some 50K per hit. Enough to 2-shot anyone and it's AOE, which just makes it worse if 2 people get caught whilst arranging themselves to the switches. Assuming everyone gets onto their switches perfectly that's 2-3 hits in the 9 seconds it takes to press the switch. If everyone happens to be on the wrong side of the platform because you just got knocked back, he might get to a second pipe. Hundreds of thousands of damage in short order. Much more damage than I can presently heal through, even with the help of the heal machines. If this was master mode, I could understand it. Get to those switches, be perfect, it's MASTER mode. But it isn't - it's veteran mode, the easiest mode for the content. Is this amount of damage correct? If so how can we mitigate it? We are geared in a mixture of 228 & 230 gear.
  24. I'm not a fan of Alderaan particularly, but I can report that the smuggler class story for that planet is very relevant to the overall story for the class and definitely working for herself and not a lackey to anyone else.
