  1. Hello everyone. Thanks for the response. It is good to see that there are people who cares enough about the PvE progression to actually get in a debate. I was afraid the high end PvE community has died already This is a good sign. May be I will end up in a NiM raid again soon. People say there is no market for MMO anymore proven by the repeated weak showings by AAA titles. But this makes me hopeful. May be someone will come along in the future who will understand how to get it right. Cheers.
  2. Hello Harbinger. I stopped playing SWTOR when 3.0 came out. So it has been almost 2 years. I miss raiding though. So I came back to the game to try out raiding once again. But seems like the raiding scene is not very active anymore (sadly). I was doing progression raiding before I quit the game. I had full clear of Nightmare TFB, SnV and 4/5 nightmare DF. I have toons on both republic side and imperial side. My main character was a gunslinger. I switched between dirty fighting and marksman depending on the specific fight. I also used to play a commando in nightmare raids as a ranged DPS. I was mostly gunnery but I also was pretty good with assault spec. All my characters are 55 at the moment. So I am leveling them up and learning about the changes made after I left the game. I have two gunslingers, a commando, shadow, sentinel, mercenary, PT, sniper and a sorcerer; All of them at 55. I am looking for guilds on both sides that are interested in nightmare raiding. I understand that I am not going to get a spot immediately but I am a quick study and a patient person. I will learn the new rotations and get as much gear as possible on my own time while I wait for a spot on the raid group. If any guilds are interested I would love to have a chat.
  3. Stopped reading after this. Arsenal has been the lowest ranges spec for a while. The latest patch made it viable but its still not doing anything close to what it should do. Burst specs like lightning, arsenal and MM should do the same average DPS on a dummy (to have a control group you need ideal scene) which they are not doing right now. And I don't know what BW's philosophy is now, but it used to be all DPS specs should stay within 5% of each other. If that is true, MM (lightning and arsenal also) should be within 5% of concealment on a dummy which they are not. BW never said that some specs are designed to pull significantly lower than other specs in an ideal (non-rigged situation such as brontes fight) condition. Its called a control scenario which is a must for any problem solving case, look it up. Edit: Couldn't ignore the blatant wrong information in your post. Get your facts together. Before the OS nefr Hybrid was leading in DPS leaderboard in almost every single bosses in 16 man HM except SURPRISE SURPRISE: Brontes . Its fine to have an opinion but dont post BS.
  4. That fight is tailor made for specs with fast target switching and zero build up time. One fight can not justify the DPS output of a spec specially if that fight puts up major obstacle against most specs in game with insane numbers of target swaps along with long DPS breaks. Using brontes DPS to justify low DPS output of MM is just lame.
  5. Lethality: Concern: Damage output is heavily dependent on the first cull. If for some reason the sniper has to interrupt the cull immediately after WB (for example because of getting fire on Grob) then the sniper loses a big chunk of DPS. Suggestion: Reduce the cd of WB to 9 seconds making both culls in a rotation equally potent. Reduce the number of stacks from WB from 10 to 6. This way total number of stack increases only by 2 but the number of stacks of WB affecting cull stays at 8 as it is right now ( you lose 1-2 stacks in the time between WB and cull). This also takes care of the hole in lethality rotation. MM: Concern: Base damage output is too low. There has been some 3700 parses but those are extremely lucky parses with very very (i cant emphasize enough) very high crits on hard hitting attacks like SoS and FA. The average DPS is too low. The rotation is clunky. BV does not line up with anything. The hole in normal rotation is still there which becomes bigger when BV is available. Suggestion: There are number of ways to address the DPS problem. Adding a DoT on sabo charge . I propose a DoT on sabo charge because the burst on MM in very good. Increasing the damage on any attack will make the burst too good. Instead a DoT on sabo charge will buff the sustained damage. Reducing the cb on BV will also achieve the same impact on sustained DPS. It will also make the rotation less clunky. Defensive cooldowns: A force/tech defensive cooldown will be very useful in upcoming NiM DP. Doesn't have to be a resilience but some sort of damage reduction for tech and force will be very handy.
  6. 16 main raids are loads of fun. Its sad that due to lack of population it is hard to gather a nightmare ready 16 man group. The total number of 16 man groups doing NiM content across all the servers of SWTOR can be counted on one hand. But we have seen some efforts made by Quorum and I commend them for this. This kill of hateful shows that an active cooperation between guilds can open the door to 16 man NiM contents for us on the pub side. I thank Infamous again for coming forward. And I'd suggest cooperation to other guilds too. 16 man raids are awesome

About Bart... he didn't exist before this thread for me. And he will stop existing after this thread so no point wasting emotion like anger on him.   13. Well it only works if you have something to show for all your smack talk. Our smack talker here like you Zuzu has nothing to show for it. He is a nobody. No one noticed he left the server, no one ever missed him. He went into a sever where he had better players to carry him. If he stops playing today it would have zero impact on his harbinger raiding group. Again no one will ever miss him. See he has nothing better to do than come here and smack talk because his new overloads does not give a damn about what he thinks. He is like the retarded cousin whom you keep in group just to shut him up. The sad part is no one here gives a rat's furry back side about him either.

  16. LoL always found it funny when bad players from an even worse guild acts all mighty because they now have their *** carried by other better people. If you have nothing else to do, go lick the boots of people who carries you. And before you pass off comments about other guild and their ability to kill stuff try to get the facts together. DoA was missing 2 DPS for the whole summer and lost 1 more DPS and a healer at the beginning of fall. People came back after DF and DP launch and NiM TFB and S&V went out of consideration. I didnt see your *** killing even HM Brontess when she was bugged. And you guild was here in force. So instead of acting like fools on forum, worship the better players in your present guild and pray that they dont stop playing. And the troll sentinel guy!... talk all you like, I atleast I know who taught you how to play. Big talk for someone who couldn't even figure out how to play his main class. Trolls...

  19. PLEASE! fix the operations training dummy. If an armor debuff or health number is put on it, it keeps respawning every 3 seconds after the end of combat (either death of dummy or breaking combat). It is so annoying to log off and back in after every friggin parse. Its infuriating.
  20. Its amazing how little people think before they open their mouth. 8 man and 16 man raid group compositions are not the same. If you dont know that then dont post in PvE progression thread. You cant put together 2 8 man groups to make a 16 man because you will end up with 2 extra tanks. Its a tricky business bringing 2 groups from 2 different guilds together who normally dont work together for anything. On top of that when you tell someone to switch role it can result in bruised ego. If you cant understand that you are too naive.
  21. I emphasized this many times, you have to assume equal skill for balance discussion. I never said, classes should not have defensive cooldowns. That will just dumb the game down. But raid wide defensive cool down that can be chained is a little too much in my opinion. I understand the devs have a lot on their plate. And I am not even sure they are reading this thread at all. I am just putting my thoughts in the forum for the off chance they devs stumble on it and might spend a few minutes considering the disparity among the three ranged classes when raid utility is considered.
  22. Why would you take 5 merc? Because their DPS is higher? Pyro is broken. If fixed, the DPS will be close to sniper DPS. Then it blows down to personal preference. Right now its: have to take 3 snipers because we need 3 shields. Also if sniper DPS is lacking that needs to be made apparent. In my opinion sniper DPS is fine, MM could use a 3% buff but the rest is doing fine (engi is broken so not considering engi) The uniqueness stays there. I am not saying that get rid of the ballistic shield. I am saying just put a lockout on it so that only one shield can be used every 3 minutes. The class does not lose any of its unique features. Not really. Increase the radius of the shield by whatever number seems reasonable. Then put a debuff or buff (buff might be preferable from a healer point of view) on everyone so that any other sniper in group can't activate the shield. Exactly as it was done for BT. There, you highlighted the problem. So you want to give snipers some ability so that even if their DPS becomes useless through some BS nerf in future, they still get to go on raids because of their utility? I dont agree with that. If the DPS is poor then the class should not be picked for a DPS role. The nerf was bad? Let the class get benched. It will force the devs to fix whatever issue forced people to bench that class. When I said entry level gear I meant entry level for that raid. Sorry for the misunderstanding. For example 78 is the entry level gear for NiM DF.
