  1. Satele is the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order, and has stood toe to toe with Darth Malgus.

Umm no. First battle Malgus had her dead (literally) to rights and her master saved her. Second battle, condescending wench, her boyfriend and squads of republic soldiers fought Malgus to a DRAW.

He (Malgus) did not fare so well at the hands of my Inquisitor.

  2. For anyone to suggest that this is not a "solo friendly" expansion is to defy logic. Having said that, if you're still having trouble completing solo flashpoints - the problem is you. Blue 17X are available throughout the storyline just like purple 156's were in Oricon.

Companion + God-Bot + a quasi-competent player should be able to solo any available flashpoint. Again, if you're having trouble, PEBCAK.

  3. To the point that you only get two pets in WOW for $20 - we're not talking vanity items.

WoD for 3x the money gives 10x the content. SoR gives you a weekend's worth of entertainment and then a few night's where you do storyline quests. Oh and re-start the gear grind.

WoD gives you a world. Not two CZ-198 zones.

This whole argument over "content" in Sor reminds me of the Eddie Murphy skit where he talks about handing a starving man a Saltines cracker.

  4. Lord help me I agree with Kalfear. $20 and 20 months and that was it? Seriously? Look, I get that monies generated by SWTOR go elsewhere in the EA game-verse. Otherwise, W-T-F.

Look at what WoW released for 3x the money. WAY more than 3x the content.

But hey, they managed to squash "hybrids" AND keep DF / DP relevant, all while customers paid to Beta test. Win.Win.Win.

  5. Pagy

so they changed something AFTER testing ended?

which is it? or are you suggesting the code started evolving and changing on its own?

Ok, that was good. SOR has become the SWTOR equivalent of Skynet.

Also LOL @ the suggestion the Devs were under a deadline. 20 months to release less content than Quesh? BAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAh

  6. A more extensive reply:

Scenario One - they could fix it, but to do so would bring down the servers and they don't want to lose X hours of people paying to Beta test. They'll lose some customers (me for example), but they hope that when all the wrinkles are ironed out they can market a better game to a wider audience come next summer.

Scenario Two - they can't fix it at this point and are buying time.

  7. We were told and/or led to believe that there would be more choice and more freedom with the new system.

Newsflash - people lie. Second newsflash - those of us on the extensive DPS 3.0 thread mentioned this. We were shouted down by the fanboiz. (Among others).

Of course 6 choices is far more than 41. Just ask any of the resident BW / EA defenders around here.

    Vote with your wallet.

  8. SWTOR is actually a fairly successful MMO

I think it was Artemis who had some "classified" (behind a rather expensive pay wall) info that showed SWTOR pales in straight dollars to a lot of other on-line options (especially MOBAs).

The EA corporate release was a tad nebulous in wording. SWTOR was lumped in with some other "low performing" games.

    For your perusal.

EDIT: Go to his Tuesday section(s). They show a cross-section of who is playing what. There are some metrics there.

  9. so I admit freely that I don't know, but is it really in the US constitution (or any law) that when some other store has something cheaper, the other *has* to refund the difference? I'd guess not. So that would make that practice purely voluntarily on the refunding party, right?

No, but, for starters this is all BW / EA.

Second, many stores will honor a competitor's couple / sale. "We'll match any price - anywhere!" (etc., etc)

  10. They tell you this because...if you buy it this week and came in next week expecting to be refunded the difference you would be told NO that's NOT how it works.

Don't misconstrue my statement. And yes, having spent lots of money in my life, this is exactly how it works. (I won't go into Business 101, except to respectfully say, learn a bit more before you open your first)
