I find it highly "odd" that up to 3.0, even when we went from level 50 to 55, the trees were fine. Suddenly the addition of five levels and the corresponding choices throws the whole system into chaos.

Was having a discussion with a friend of mine about the state of SWTOR. My (extremely negative and I admit that) viewpoint is that the game has entered a death-spiral.
Last two years SWTOR generated over 300 million dollars in income. They finally release an "expansion" and while I (hope) initial numbers are great and encourage EA to support the game, quite frankly I'm disappointed in the amount of content and re-everything that went on. (Insert Kalfear's comment about this being a $5 - $8 DLC).
I suspect come March numbers will be down approximately 10% from where they are now. (or the high from 12x to release). Seeing that, I also suspect EA is not going to "support" the game or support less than they do now. This will lead to smaller numbers leading to less support.
I don't see them turning off the servers (Heck, even EQ is still alive and kicking (*)) , but I do see the release of other SW related games.
(*) Just checked and EQ has released their 21st expansion over the past 14 years)

As dumb as this sounds, anybody wonder if the lag might be related to the abilities that 'highlight' when usable?

SNL has not been consistently funny for years. I remember the ORIGINAL NRFPTPs.

Max is right. It's irrelevant why people picked certain talents over others. Bottom line it was their CHOICE. Now? Because Devs are seemingly incompetent, EVERYONE gets a cookie cutter build.
Just a terribad decision to change the trees.

LOOT COUNCIL, fair and balanced.
Good luck with that.
DKP > *.*

What is there to theory craft anymore? The new system is beyond simplistic, designed so even the most inept of players can make the correct decisions when selecting disciplines.
Wrong. You will accept "more choices" and 'more variety" and you will like it.

As I said before, there is no lag and it is not Bioware's fault.
/\ Erm, I typed that 30 seconds ago.

developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts.
And of course ME 3.

Yep, EA has never released any expansion for any game, ever. Not once. And they never will.
Sports games:
Madden X , no expansion just a new game
Fifa X, no expansion just a new game.
Wait, I see you moving the goalposts because those are sports and not MMOs
ME 1
ME 2
ME 3
Granted, they did release a DLC for ME3 because the ending was so terribad I guess they felt guilty.
Wait, I see you're moving the goalposts again because ME was single-player and not a MMO
Sims
I think we've been down this road before.
But please continue with the snark and not provide any counterpoint.

"Game got EA'ed"
x1000
EA does not release expansions, they release new games. Insofar as crew, resources, the game made over 300 million the past two years. That is not insignificant.

Lag? There's no lag.
/\ I typed that 45 seconds ago.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, under the old system, if you didn't put every point in the same tree - you were a hybrid. Not the player's fault they figured out how to increase DPS.

Didn't need to drink 100 gallons to know that 'New Coke' was terrible.

E-Thugs in da HIZOUZE.
(Just Google 'E-thug')

what he wants is the same number of comms for the same time put in as people running Ops get
Fair enough. Standard 8 m DF / DP SM takes what? 45 minutes to an hour? At the conclusion, each person gets approx 24 elites (6 / boss) and the weekly 12 (iinm). There's also no guarantee on loot.
So...for solo play, to get 36 elite comms, the OP would have to run (at 45 minutes apiece) 12 solo missions to equate to the time spent by the 8 players.
So, repeatable (daily) 3 elite comm solo missions? Sure, I can wrap my head around that.
EDIT: To be fair, however, no God-bot in these solo missions.

.I see no issue with neutral locations in the futureAs in no issue with them creating more, or no issue with the non-creation of one now?
This is a none (sic) issue.See my question above.
-
The combat team is the same bunch who advocated wholesale changes because players (in NIGHTMARE OPs) were exceeding the "baseline". Not ceiling - "baseline".
So, as some of us pointed out in the damage thread - level 60's NOW are doing about the same damage as a level 55 pre 3.0.
Enjoy running DF / DP until 4.0 drops.
-
This reminds me of the old STR v Haste arguments in EQ.
high end level 60 gear.Seems a lot of their decisions were based on high end OPs and gear. Truly odd.
-
Here's (one reason) why they may be reticent to establish "neutral" territory (even though it totally fits with the "story line", but let's go down that road): Once they establish a precedent for "neutral" territory, even with the best of intentions, they have opened the proverbial Pandora's box for future complaints about the same issue in different locations.

Kalfear said it best, this is at most a $8 DLC in terms of content.

However, unlike the Sith code, the Jedi code is not strictly enforced or followed to the letter or subconsciously.
Ahh yes, Jedi hypocrisy.

If there was more separation of areas and we both had protected areas to load into and such, then it wouldn't be such an issue
Ala Oricon.

Hold on, hold on, hold on. Are you telling me PvP HAPPENED! On a PVP SERVER!
That's just crazy talk.
I'm rarely disappointed, but I am with this
