  1. This guy is correct, lets not talk about that other MMO on Hero Enginee and how it will fail, we have enough of that regarding SWTOR and Hero Engine already.

And lets face it... it cant get any worse than SWTOR right?

Well, doubt Zenimax makes another single playing MMORPG like Bioware did. Bioware's challenges for the future is to make this feel more MMO than single playing game and it doesnt look good, they just make people reroll so they grow even farther from each other. ;)

  2. Elder Scroll's combat isnt traditional, theres stamina, theres block as far I know, its not action, but its kind of mix between traditional and action, also theres some co-op ideas, like wizard can put a fireball in the air and warrior kick it toward enemy, it sounds like when you're in group, it uses "shared" combo points.
  3. I also think D3, they should give another free month like 2 month after D3, if no-one comes they're screwed for life.
  4. And as long as everyone learned their lesson about buying into the over hyped single player games going MMO, everybody will be happy. And that kids is the real moral of the story.

Not that we didnt try to make you understand, theres articles by press anywhere telling how this game flops, SWTOR is made by Amateurs, they're just clueless. So many things are missing, they're way too behind, ship is gone and Bioware is standing at the bay. You know whats really funny, even they make this F2P game they just buy 2-3 extra month max. :D

  5. Well free month ran out, it was issued on 13th April, and everyone is waiting Elder Scroll Online. Bioware had their chance but they failed.
  6. Just saying, believe it when you see it.

We were supposed to have 100v100 Ilum battles here. How did that work out?

We also know Bioware heavily modified this engine, that shouldnt be a big deal nowadays, even Rift support 80 players.

  7. Elder Scrolls Online is going to be awesome, Im playing Guild Wars 2 until ESO comes out, both games are copying DAoC for PvP instead of WoW(thank gawd)....ESO is being designed by Matt Firor, codesigner of DAoC(voted best PvP MMO ever by multiple websites and polls)

ESO is going to have 3 Faction RvR just like DAoC and GW2.....going to be fun as hell

I just love how they add co-op too, basically what they're doing is "shared" combo points. Ive a very good feeling about this one, especially they want to keep that exploration, free-roam feeling like Skyrim.

  8. Thats a very superficial view, Warhammer Online did bring new and exciting things, its original premise was a massive integration of PvP and PvE creating a real living world with a monumental sense of realm pride. Sadly it was beyond their ability to deliver and was abandoned by EA shortly after launch. Income suffered when Mythic made the fatal error of killing the cash cow (pve players) by taking the cheap option of concentrating on PvP (they actually didnt do much of that either). Warhammer was originally envisioned as something beyond epic but sadly became an example of what could have been (even more than SWTOR)

Reason Im waiting Elder Scroll Online, its 3 faction PVP is really Warhammer on Steroids.

  9. WOW is in the process of killing itself and has been for well over a year, so no need :) (lol pandas)

But anyway, Elder Scrolls online will most likely be an FPS (like every single other ES game). Not everyone who plays RPGs likes FPSs, so it won't really be a major competitor. If they make it like WOW it will be an automatic fail since the elder scrolls fans won't like it.

No its not FPS. Its confirmed Hero Engine same as SWTOR, but they're using newest version like better support for DX11 and some other things, also Zenimax doesnt plan to modify like it Bioware did. Also they arent going to stop making single playing games, they just want to spread the brand basically to MMO world.

  10. Yup just like players will drink up the hype for ESO, but scratch the surface and what do you find? Another somewhat generic fantasy RPG that hodge podges together ideas from other games (a la GW2). I'll bet that 4 months after launch, you will be able to cut and paste these forums into the ESO forums. Unless the game launches with GW2's no sub model or a F2P model, the setting (just like SW for here) will not be able to carry the game past the first year. At least with SW, you have a bigger IP to draw from.

Needless to say, ESO won't be threat here when it's released. Whatever fan base SWTOR will have by then will be established and ESO won't draw that much more from it. And if GW2 is released by the end of the year (which I suspect), very few will find they are willing to put up with another generic fantasy MMO that doesn't try to buck the mechanics trend. As much as I have no interest in GW2, it will be the one game that sets the bar for the genre in the years to come.

Its just way too early to say whether it fails or no, but everyone saw it coming with SWTOR.

  11. Ahh, there you are - found ya!

You do know that no matter how many times you say it, it won't make it true. As much as I enjoyed the ES games in the past, the MMO is not going to be the next savior of the genre. GW2 will kill it before it's even released, but GG on the efforts anyway.

Dont compare GW2 or even Star Wars to Elder Scroll. Its fanbase is simply huge. First ES was made in 94, Skyrim sold over 10 mill just first month and they havent even reduced the prices. when they drank up the hype machine its impossible to avoid. :p

Elder Scroll is just huge in game world, theres only a few bigger than it, GTA, Civilization, Total Wars, just name a few.
