  1. While i do like the idea of splitting up casual and hardcore PvPers, no one will queue for "casual WZ" that doesn't offer any reward. That's like offering PvP players casual ops that don't give you any drops for defeating a boss. People will always still come into regular PvP games with PvE gear just to get the rewards. Comms and ranked comms. If you don't offer these at all then there's no point having a causal league. Another alternative would be to put these people in the <50 PvP rounds (reduce their stats to 49). That way they can still get comms, dailys and not interfere with RWZ. I know from personal experience that coming into RWZ from PvE is hard, and I get slaughtered as soon as I pop (merc healer), having the ability to start in a lower ranked system until i get the gear would be a good idea I think. it'd let people like me get the gear needed, learn the basic mechanics/strategies and then come into RWZ feeling a little more confident. I agree with cross server WZ, that's desperately needed, especially on Oceanic servers.
  2. Thanks a lot for your help. Got a lot of work to do but I'll get there!
  3. I have no issues letting go of my PvE gear. My healer is no longer required by my guild and I have more fun running my marauder in Ops anyway. So I intend to get rid of it all or equip it on Torian etc. So if you think going straight PvP is best then I'll do that with no issues. Also if healers aren't really worth rolling in PvP I'm happy to switch to DPS. Not sure if they're worth much to a team or not? EDIT: also, sorry to ask so many questions, but is it worth me buying the schematics for the War Hero and BM set? Will it give me quicker access to the gear?
  4. Thanks a lot for the info! I've got enough comms for some BM gear so I'll get that now and buy the rest of recruit gear. Re ear pieces and relics etc I've got BH/Rak ones but I can easily change. I've got a healers relic that increases aim and endurance and the matrix shard relic for BH which I can change out as well. Just played my first lvl 50 match and we won which was good, can't say I did anything though except heal a little bit. But it's a nice start to the weekly.

    PvE to PvP

I'm making the transition from PvE to PvP. I'm a Merc healer. I was looking at the gear I can buy and make and I wasn't sure if I'm dong the right thing in buying it. I'm in full rakata and black hole gear so when I equip the PvP gear I'm losing 100's of points in aim, surge and other stats that are essential in PvE. Is this ok? Can I do without all this as I get expertise? I just need some advise from regular PvP players. Also, do I wanna go recruit or battlemaster if I can get them?
  6. I just wanted to suggest there be a procedure in place for people who wish to move their characters from one server to another. I was affected by the Oceanic server shutdowns a while back and created a new character on Gav Daragon as it was the only Oceanic server I could use (the odd times I could get on every couple of days lol). My guild, friends and legacy is on Dalborra and I'd love to move my new character on there as well to play with everyone and get those legacy rewards etc. I've already asked in game CS and tickets where they've said it's not possible for me to transfer at this time but I figured I'd put it here as well. I think it's something that many people would love to take advantage of, not just myself. Apologies if there are 100's of other threads like this.
  7. I'd also be interested in some advice. I'd also like some help especially in the early stages, 10-25. There seems to be an overwhelmingly amount of abilities that get thrown at you. It'd be nice to know if some of these can be ignored.
  8. Unsure if this is the place to put this but I've got a suggestion for class/character creation. I was thinking just now as I'm creating a new character how good it would be to be able to play as a consular but play the Jedi knight story. Keep the same voice actor for the knight and same companions etc, the only difference is I level as a con instead of a knight. I'm not sure how easy this would be to do and I understand that it can possibly not work with troopers, smugglers, bounty hunters and agents (although I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue) but I just thought it would be rather cool. I personally am not a fan of the knight/warrior classes but love the con/inq class and would love to experience the knight story without having to play a class I dislike. I dont know much about lore and cannon of SW so I won't comment on that, but I wouldn't think that the story is strictly limited to a double bladed or single bladed knight and would be fine with a consular. I know that it's unlikely that this would be implemented but I figured that if I don't at least mention it then theres no chance that it would be implemented.
  9. So I just got my first weekly. (Priority Targets III). I've asked in game (ignored) and looked on the net and searched in game tutorials and haven't been able to find out if they are for a solo person or if I need a group for them. If someone here can help that would be great.
  10. I experienced an issue today that has happened twice with me before in the past week (hasn't happened before that). Pretty much all vocals dissapear and I hear only the rare words/sentences here and there. It's not the end of the world because I've put subtitles on but is a little irritating. Not sure if this issue has been documented or not but there you go.
  11. I saw this article - http://kotaku.com/5918670/bioware-is-looking-at-free+to+play-for-star-wars-the-old-republic - and wanted to voice my opinion on the matter (something I rarely, if ever do). I sincerely hope that Bioware don't go Free to Play (F2P). I personally believe that with F2P comes with it less of a community of players, and more of a group of random people online. I experienced this with LOTRO. As soon as you open up a MMO for F2P then any sense of community goes out the door (in my experiences). With a subscription model, I know that the people playing the game truly like/love it and want to be apart of the world. And I gotta say that I make some great friends playing MMO's. I'd hate to see a game such as this lose that community spirit that the developers seem so keen to keep (as they've stated when explaining why they don't do cross-server play). SWTOR is still a baby, I think we all need to give it time to grow, and for Bioware to grow as well. Nothing is perfect straight up, and yes there are kinks in the game that can be annoying at times but I'm more than happy to deal with them and wait for the fixes. I know that every time I log into the game I'm going to be able to experience a massive world that truly makes me feel apart of it. And it also is a world where I see the same people, and get to know them. I would hate for that to be lost. Well there's my 2 cents...
  12. Talking about the one received on Tatooine. It has white writing but from what I can see is pretty useless. Is there a use for it I'm not getting? Anyone help a shadow con out?
  13. I'm loving this idea. I hope we get proper lion looking skins or a wide range of options. I'd love a pitch black lion with massive mane!
  14. Thank you everyone for your replies. I've been left with lots to think about and test, but I think I'll have fun doing it. Thanks again.
  15. Thanks for that in depth reply Leafy_Bug. That honestly helped me a lot. It also has helped me square down a path for me, I'm gonna focus on tanking. Can I be bold and ask another question, when investing points in my skill tree, should I just focus on the Kinetic build? I've already placed two points into the shadow tree to get the skill that give the % bonus to force recovery coming out of stealth (thought it was worth the points, am I correct?) Thanks again
