  1. I was a SWTOR subscriber since it opened for beta testing. A year ago (Jan 2015) I took a break so I could go play a different MMO. I just came back a couple days ago (02/01/16) partially because of the new movies and also because I missed the game. To my surprise I found out that there were a lot of gameplay changes which made my previous efforts useless. For example, I had spent a lot of time and effort (and cartel coins) upgrading my character companions (for 10 characters) so they were at the same level as my character. Adaptive armor with the highest level parts doesn't come cheap, however now IT IS JUST COSMETIC for the companions since they get no bonus stats from the armor. ***!? Not only that, I didn't even get a refund or compensation for all the cartel coins/time spent getting multiple companions upgraded with adaptive armor, zilch! Not even a conversion to the new system that made sense and made them equally powerful. If for example, I would have gotten 40/50 of that new stat (don't remember the name now) then at least that would have been something but with the conversion they were 10/50 when they had the same level 192 armor as my character. I'm not interested in bogus explanations from EA on how they came up with the conversion scheme, blah, blah, blah... I spent a lot of time money and effort and in return just get screwed... and that is just one of the many changes (let alone bugs) that were introduced to annoy gamers. Needless to say I cancelled my subscription and asked for my money back... Is a pity, I liked the game but I had it with EA. Good bye Star Wars, Good luck to those who are choosing to stay.
  2. ROFLMAO! These mini movies were HILARIOUS! I would love it if it was real ;-)
  3. I've been playing MMO's for 15 years and have been a member of various guilds which fall into two categories: 1 - Hardcore gamers: Better hide unde a rock if it was your fault that everyone died because you are going to be yelled at. And you better be here every day 12 hours a day and KNOW what you are doing (READ every post on how we re going to do today's raid). Woe be onto you if you fail to follow these instructions... at least a tongue lashing at most they kick you out. For these people I have only one coment: IT'S A FREAKING GAME, YOUR LIFE DOES NOT DEPEND ON IT! Chill out! I was on a guild like that, it was like being in the US Marines. I left them after 2 weeks, probably just before they would have kicked me out. 2 - Casual gamers: These fall in two types A) small guild - very frustating kind of group because they are usually useless when it comes to raiding of any type. B) large guild - size fluctuates a lot, you make friends one week and they're gone the next thinking they could do better somewhere else. All these have equal ammount of frustration and pain... I have a job, I can play 3-4 hours every night but usually have no time to read any forums... so the hardcore gamers want nothing to do with me because I don't know all the freaking tricks to a raid before we start on the first try. I can understand that they don't want to spend 4 hours of work to wipe out but some of us have time constraints. On the other hand I want to be able to do all possible content and why not? My money is as good as everyone else's i just don't have 24/7 to play like some do. Why should i not be able to get the top armor and weapons until months after everyone else when something else comes out that is better and the old "Top item" is no good any more. So a guild that can't help me is just a waste of my time and resources because i end up being the guy that can craft everything and btw, give it to me for free cause we're guildmates. Sooo.... let me finish this rant.... is it a wonder why MMO's are becoming Massively Single Player games? After so many years of disapointment I just play by myself, even if it means that sometimes i just sit there asking for help and no one else (even people in the same quest) even deigns to answer and say come join us. People are a-holes in cyberspace, same as in real life. I keep hoping some day I'll find a guild that is a happy medium, with nice friendly people but I'm not holding my breath... In the mean time, I'll solo until in sick of crafting here and move on to the next game.
