  1. I would like to submit or resubmit an idea that might or might not have been brought up before. GSF is thought of in game usually in one of two ways....players either love it but want more, or they absolutely despise it due to learning/gearing curve compared to those people who have been playing it since it came out. So, we have the lovers and the haters. First the easy ones, those who like GSF. Desire more content for it, new ships, new maps....perhaps even an operation based level of play where group load out would include all classes of fighters and bombers and gunships. Just an early suggestion. Secondly the harder issue.. New players or even old timers who never tried or were late to the party so to speak in terms of playing GSF find it hard to compete due to gear differential. In simplistic terms....no one likes to play the role of Indian when playing Cowboys and Indians (Lord help me I know its politically incorrect and I don't give a rats a%$) but seriously, no one wants to play the role of looser over and over and over and over. New players come into a GSF match and they get slaughtered over and over again. My own wife hates GSF, she understands she will die in ground PvP, it happens no matter how good you are, you will most likely get taken out, but to her GSF feels like all she does is "put mileage on the ship" and then gets blown out of space without even a clue. This is usually most peoples complaints against GSF, new gsf players die without learning practically anything except GSF is miserable. Its hard to grow a community of players if the learning/gearing curve is so steep its practically insurmountable and not fun to play. I am not suggesting dumbing things down for everyone but to create an environment where new players can learn to fly and earn requisition to better equip their ships so that they might last a little longer in a match instead of just heading out of the hanger like lambs to slaughter. GSF needs, NEEDS a PvE environment for this purpose, and not, sorry BW, that Lame early space junk where you are lead by your nose around a targeting area shooting at points on a screen with no control at all except when to fire. Fly by rails is horrible and dull! But if we had an area and maps and content based in story we might capture a lot of new players and get them into the cockpits and into the matches. Gsf que times are improving but are NO where near as quick as 'ground" PvP, and while I am standing around waiting for my next GSF match, my exp boost or worse CXP boost is wearing out waiting for enough people to que up. We are NOT getting our monies worth in that situation and we need to bring in new people, and to that end we need to look at whats keeping new players out of GSF and I feel its the gearing/learning curve. In closing, think about the possibilities that could be opened up with this, a larger player base actually playing GSF, gearing up in a PvE area where you might actually stand a chance learning what your ship can do and the ability to upgrade it to the point you can survive against a real thinking creative player in PvP. I can imagine an Operation or Flashpoint based in part or wholly utilizing Ships, either taking down or taking over a capital ship. Where you would need to have Gunships providing long range support, Scouts zipping in to confuse and disorient defenses, Stk Fighters to take down hardened points with their ordinance and Bombers activating healing drones for resupply and damage repair as well as enabling Hyper beacon early responsiveness. You could even have a portion of the Op be inside said Capital ship where you send part or all your teams to its hanger and land inside the ship to sabotage it or take it over....that sounds exciting quite frankly. I implore people to give this idea a look see, and beg the dev team to consider this in earnest. Hornkneetoad Shadowlands Server
  2. Today, Jan 15, 2017 my wife and I were getting our Star Fortress Voss mission out of the logs and we run in all content. Here we are just muddling through doing content that has been around a lot...we work through the ALMOST the entire thing, we do the bonus mission and find three of the bonus buffs. We get to the Exarch fight, we click on the first terminal, we move on, second terminal room we kill the droid, and blow up that terminal, move on to the second room, kill both droids and are able to click on THAT terminal which of COURSE means the Exarch will then go up to the final platform right? So you can end the fight and get loot and a sense of having done something fun.....BUT NO!!!!!! NOPE the Exarch STAYS IN THE DAMN ROOM, STAYS SHIELDED, and you can't do anything, we /stuck it, came back, Nope still there. Terminals all blown, no droids or anything around. JUST the Exarch staying in the last room. Thanks again for doing such a bang up job fixing those bugs!
  3. I am in agreement that achievements should be looked at for quality and a players ability to get it. I am not talking about the double speak we hear from CS reps, you get one who tells you that they can do something and then one who tells you they can't. That is another issue and not related to the original thread. Treek's achievement is bugged and needs to be fixed or removed.
  4. I submitted an in game ticket like most of us probably did as well, and at least its not just me....yes truly misery loves company. That being said, The ONLY question I have at this point is what genius thought it was a good idea to put these two spawns, the one for the little known, rarely fought Yavin 4 worldboss and the spawn point for a totally unrelated mission so darn close to one another?....just saying "Working as Intended" huh? With these bugs BW / EA should be ashamed of what they are putting out, New content is good as long as you don't break the stuff you've already have out, and at the same time charging more for cartel packs and delivering less per pack! Didn't think people would notice the increase to 6300 Cartel Coins for the hypercrate but we did so you lowered the number of packs to try and get back to what we were used to paying for a Hypercrate. This is pure junk and insulting to your customer/player base. Much more of this kind of behavior and it wont matter if its Star Wars or not, people will leave your game in favor of a company that isn't so blatantly cheap and mistreating of its players.
  5. A lot of the arguments spoken here in this thread have merit and I value and respect most opinions and perspectives. That being said however I feel that IMHO whether or not someone wants to fly with a controller, Flight stick (as is my preference), Mouse/Keyboard, or their thumbs firmly planted up their backside it shouldn't matter to anyone else. The option to use (most) of these methods SHOULD be available. If you don't want to spend the money on a controller, don't! If you don't want to use a joystick...guess what DON'T! But do NOT tell other people what they can or can not use just because you don't like it or won't utilize it. I do not feel nor expect a greater advantage while using my stick to fly, but I do PREFER that form of control. Its a preference, clean, simple. Spend and play your 14.99 a month and play your game the way you want to but let me play/spend mine.
  6. /bump Great Thread, caught the link in Crazy's thread. Sub'd to both your threads. I know how that one guy felt, I was excited about getting past 10K myself and then I see Swaggers #'s...holy crap dude! Do you SLEEP!!! lol Great job tho to all I am SO glad to see there are other achievement whores out there keeping things going.
  7. I believe they fixed number 1 here, need to login to confirm but I am fairly certain that its fixed. Just wanted to remark on that and give this thread a bump....Good work Crazy and to all who post their bugs. There was mention of the achievement for the final boss of "The Foundry" FP, I have the Revan achievement and was wondering if it was the SM or HM or both that people are/were having trouble with. Just did it last night and had it before I went in there, but guildmate did not...think there is something to the idea if you did that quest before you don't get the achievement but if you bring a new toon you do get tick. Chapter 1 for my Agent is bugged as well, I understand some people have it, and some people don't....oh well. Good luck
  8. Thanks Crazy, I appreciate the response mate! lol but I think they like to say the phrase "Its working as intended" God I can't wait for them to fix the damn codex system....I mean really! Oh well this comes after several days of serious hunting in all places Rakghoulish...I need a shower!
  9. I am trying to get the Lore Achievement LoreMaster of Taris (Imperial) and the last thing I need is to get the entry for Rakghoul Disease I have searched, what I feel is every location that might house Raks, done every mission, every class looking for this codex entry to complete this and I am now crying "UNCLE!" If anyone has ANY suggestions or anything helpful I would gladly try, at this moment I am trying to find a Red, Gold Elite Rakghoul in the Imp areas to try and infect me just in case they coded it to be that tricky. The Repub side has a nice little blue clicky to grab inside the hospital, but if you go in there with or as a Sorc (Class Quest for them and yes I have been there) its not in there for the Imperials. HELP! Thanks for anyone who might have something I can try.
  10. I disagree with awarding Datacrons to toons that haven't gotten them, I mean its PART of the game to go after them...I guess I mean to ask the question Why give them to toons that haven't gone for them? Because its hard? The difficulty is what gives a challenge meaning, the stat increase is just the tangible reward for doing something difficult. You don't HAVE to have the stat increases on every toon, trust me I have over 10 toons and I don't have them all on every toon. Making them legacy based is like crying that the game is to hard and comes off sounding lazy. I am not calling anyone that I am just saying that's how it might come across. Just my humble opinion.
  11. I have been looking through the forums and while most posts pertaining to achievements are located inside the General Discussion forums it would be nice to have a channel totally dedicated to Achievements here on the website. It could be placed within the Gen Discussion tab but have all questions, guides or what have you related to achievements located in one place. Just thought I would request it.
  12. Totally support this idea. Not only will it make it easier to switch/send things between characters but gives reaching lvl 50 Legacy something to strive for other then just an achievement. Good suggestion.
  13. Glad to be of help. I LOVE this new achievement system, brings back memories of SWG and that system. I am truly an Achievement nutcase!
  14. The base is on Mannett Point and the building you need to go into is at (837,408) the right side of the map, once inside use the previous mentioned coords in the last post to get to the captain himself.
  15. The Seperatist Base Captain is available he is inside the main base building, the one you go into and talk to the kid who was taken and whose parents ask you to go find, in the back left most corner room you will find the Captain. His spawn time is not huge but it does take about 3-5 mins to wait if you get there and he is gone already. The x,y coordinates are (642,277) Sorry I had to edit the post, still half asleep. Good luck
  16. Yesterday, a guildie and I started new jedi toons for the sole purpose of investigating this problem, we need to level up some more before we can finish our class quest but, we believe there might be a Terentatek at the end of the Knight quest, it MIGHT, and I seriously stress might be the bonus monster you can kill right after the character gets his lightsaber. We will keep plugging away at this but we can confirm one rumor as being false. We were also told that there were Terentateks in Maelstrom Prison on the pub side, and while there were two we saw, they did not give the codex or kill entry. We were told that the bonus boss was a Terentatek but while he looks like a very large version of one he is called Flayer, so don't waste your time other then to get the checkmark for that achievement. Good luck to all
