  1. Greetings all. <Shadow Consortium> & <Shadow Syndicate> are looking for active players looking forward to the 6.0 expansion. We are an NA guild that engages in PVE content, including raiding, conquest, and more! We do occasionally like to PVP also. Players of all levels/roles/game experience are welcome to join. We've got some old veterans about who love to help newer players get into the game and get established as well. We were very active in <Shadow Syndicate> on the Imperial side for about a year, but have been inactive for a few months. We're giving Republic side a go this time around in <Shadow Consortium> in anticipation of the new expansion later this month. We have a guild flagship on both sides, with good experience bonuses, and also have an active discord where we all hang out and guild planning is done. The plan is to form an SM OPS team to get back into raiding when the expansion hits, and we'll progress from there based on where the team wants to go. No prior experience is necessary if you'd be interested in raiding with us! We only ask that you be able to follow directions and know your class. If you're interested in checking us out and want to be part of an awesome guild, feel free to hop on Discord and ask for a guild invite! You may also search for the guild names in-game and ask someone online to get an invite as well (as Discord is optional), as anyone online is able to /ginvite. Republic: Shadow Consortium (+10% XP bonus) Empire: Shadow Syndicate (+13.6% XP bonus) Here's our Discord invite. We look forward to seeing you!
  2. Hey there. I just submitted an application for a strong dps character for the 930 group and can fill in/attend most of the earlier raid group events as well if needed.
  3. Hey there. I am interested in joining you as an rDPS and submitted an application to the guild. I've been searching for a tightly knit guild that enjoys the game and doesn't take it too seriously. I'll be online this evening and might send you a whisper if I see you around. Thanks!
  4. Unfortunately people are like that and have no patience with new players still grasping the mechanics of the game and how things work. If you haven't done so already, you should try looking for a guild to join, one that caters to helping new players progress. You will be able to group with other people such as yourself and hopefully make some friends and have a better experience. Having to do pick-up groups with people who refuse to listen or communicate or just want to belittle everyone else does indeed make for a negative experience. On a side note, I've never heard anyone refer to Death From Above as a CC so that was interesting haha.
  5. I would recommend finding your specific server forum and making a post there since we have no idea what server you are on. It is also beneficial to list your in-game name as well. Best of luck to you.
  6. I would recommend taking this issue to the customer service forum here: http://www.swtor.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=11
  7. Is your inquisitor character still labeled as a "Sith Inquisitor"? If so check your quest log to see if the quest is still active. If it is then you might have to reset it if the NPC still will not talk to you. If none of that is still not working for you you might have to submit a help ticket for it. If for some reason the game forced an advanced class on you when you logged out (it shouldn't do that) and it's the incorrect one, then you would have to make a new character. There should be a lore object sitting right next to the modification table where you are directed to go for that particular quest on Korriban. The reward from the quest will be the enhancement that you are currently missing for the fourth slot in that weapon. Hope this helps.
  8. When you pick up your Assassin advanced class from Fleet (which can be unlocked at level 10), yes. Check your inventory immediately after unlocking the advanced class and you will notice you have a new item that looks like a backpack that you can right-click and it will provide you with items for your new class. Hope this helps!
  9. Don't let a handful of morons ruin your game experience. Yes there are going to be some *******es out there that will treat you like garbage because you aren't geared the way they want you to be, but at the same time there are lots of people out there understanding and willing to help newer players through. We were all there at some point anyways...right? You just have to be patient and sometimes put up with the crap before you find a good group. My suggestion would be to find a guild that participates in end-game content that is willing to help you along the way (if you don't have one already). Keep up with your daily missions to make a steady income of credits, daily commendations, and black hole comms from the weeklies (section x and black hole). Tier 26 and 27 mods/enhancements/armorings are becoming increasingly cheap now that the expansion is close to dropping, so you could invest in some high tier gear to improve yourself steadily. Either that or find a cybertech willing to craft them for you from the materials since the mats are typically cheaper to buy than the mods themselves. Best of luck to you.
  10. The early levels can be tough getting credits, especially if it is your first character. I would recommend participating in flashpoints when possible (and completing the daily missions for those that you pick up from the fleet), as well as running space missions for extra credits and experience. As you progress through the levels, you will notice that you gain credits more easily, as quests rewards increase and the value of your junk items goes up slightly. If you have picked up any gathering crew skills (such as scavenging, slicing, archaeology, bioanalysis), re-selling the materials you get on the galactic market can help as well. When you're out leveling, save any non-bind on pickup schematics, blue/purple armor pieces you get and you can sell those back on the galactic market as well. As I said, it's slow in the beginning but once you grind out the levels it will pick up. Best of luck to you.
  11. It sounds like you just had a case of bad luck in meeting people. Every server tends to have it's share of self-centered morons who think they are the center of the universe. What kind of community are you looking for? (i.e. PvP-centered? RP centered? PVE centered?) I would recommend giving it some more time and looking around for some good people to play with. They are out there, you just have to know where to look. Unfortunately open server transfers don't exist yet so if you still have troubling finding people then you might consider re-rolling a character on another server, but that's completely up to you. Best of luck to you.
  12. Unfortunately this is not possible. You are only able to trade item modifications within your own legacy using the bind on legacy gear, but not to other character outside of your legacy. Sorry Edit: It's only Tionese gear, which is very cheap in terms of commendations from the vendor. Your friend can run a handful of HM flashpoints and redeem the Galactic Conflicts Daily/Weekly missions for easy comms which will replace the ones they lost. By doing that, they might even be lucky enough to pick up the columi versions which are much better than the Tionese anyways. I hope this helps you.
  13. If you want to level it quickly, I would recommend running the companion gift missions, as those have a significantly shorter duration than the underworld metal/fabrics missions. (as long as you aren't worried about gathering underworld materials that is). Having extra companions/being at a level to send out many of them is helpful as well in leveling a crew skill quickly. You can send out 3 companions on missions once you hit level 25, and then you can send out 4 at a time once you get to level 41.
  14. Crafts and crew skills are really your own personal preference. Each class doesn't have a specific craft that is better than the others. All of your companions will have different crit and efficiency bonuses for different crew skills. Personally I find Cybertech and Biochem to be the most useful crafts. Cybertech will allow you to make your own mods and armorings and ear pieces for your character (great when you're progressing through levels)(along with ship parts and grenades which come in handy). Biochem is excellent end-game for making your own reusable stims, adrenals, and medpacks because buying those off the GTN can get pricey. As far as skill trees go, doing a dps/heal combo on Mercenary is not really ideal. You either want to be a full-on healer or a full-on DPS. The middle skill tree is the best DPS tree for merc. Sniper skill tree comes down to personal preference. The marksmanship tree pretty much makes you a stationary turret with high burst damage. There is another tree that allows you to be more mobile and focuses on DoT (damage over time) damage moreso than burst damage. I hope this helps you, and good luck.
  15. In this case you have to be at the minimum legacy level 25 to purchase it (or whatever the tooltip tells you). The game will not let you purchase it until you are that level. Once you have reached that level and purchased it, it is available for every character you have in your legacy. And yes it is exactly the same as the Galactic Market kiosks on Fleet and Nar Shadaa. I hope this helps.
  16. You were just unlucky. Each flashpoint has the capability of dropping items for each class. I've seen this many times from many flashpoints. It's just random, so no worries. Keep at it and eventually you will see something. Good luck.
  17. People try for the most part. It's not like people go into pvp thinking "oh yeah i'm going to be stupid and try to make my team lose." I can understand that much, but occasionally things happen that make you want to punch a wall, such as when a node gets attacked in Civil War or Novare Coast and your entire team abandons a node you control to go defend the other one. Seriously? Oh look one lowly opponent comes over and captures the undefended node. That is common sense right there, and a lack of situational awareness.
  18. If you're looking solely at the assault tree, Vanguard is definitely the way to go both for PvP and PVE. You have access to Ion Pulse which significantly improves the tree on the Vanguard side (since Commando cannot use this ability).
  19. Personally I prefer to use it in the beginning just as you are doing. Since PvP is a little unpredictable and you can never tell how long you will live, I think it's better to use it and then get all of your burst out of the way and then go from there. If you wait to use it, and then end up dying anyways then it's kind of a waste since your overall DPS will have been lower.
  20. Elara is your healer companion and you would probably have a greater survivability using her over Jorgan. Using a stim and maybe a few medpacks would also help. Is your gear fairly up to date? Cryo Grenade is a pseudo interrupt as well although it has a long recast timer (but it can help if your main interrupt is down). Don't forget to cash in your planet commendations for mods if you haven't been. I hope this helps you, and good luck.
  21. Mods that boost Shield Rating and Absorption Rating are the most important for Vanguard tanks. You want to have upwards of ~60% and higher shield and absorb respectively when tanking. Defense and endurance are tertiary stats that, while still important to a tank in general, should be superseded with Shield/Absorb. I hope this helps.
  22. I enjoy going up against premades because it's a challenge. I don't have the best pvp gear by any means so occasionally I get steamrolled pretty bad, but it's just part of the game. Premades are still human beings, and they still can be beaten. If constantly being matched up against premades is getting under your skin, recruit some other decently geared players who want to work together to play with you. There are tons of people solo queuing who would love to be part of a group.
