  1. The few people who didn't like the movie probably sleept through it, because the reasons they give are just nuts. Not liking it is everyone's right, but at least try to elaborate a minimal coherent opinion before unleashing the nerd rage.
  2. I really can't understand people justifying the dislike for the with Ren being defeated by Rey. Skipping the part he was shot on the belly by a Wookiee Crossbow, if you think that makes no sense, you must really hate ESB.
  3. 1. How do you rate the The Force Awakens out of ten and in relation to previous Star Wars movies? 8/10 2. Who is your favourite (new) character so far and why? Supreme Leader Snoke, because he seems to inspire a lot of fear but, at the same time, respect from his followers. Can't wait to learn more about who he is. 3. Who is your least favourite (new) character so far and why? There's no one I really dislike, but having to chose, I would say Maz Kanata, for someone so old who dislikes that much the Dark Side, she don't seem to do much to help fight it. 4. Out of the returning Original Trilogy cast, who gave the best performance? Han Solo, but Chewie was almost as good as. 5. What was the most awesome/epic moment for you in the movie? Rey meeting Luke. 6. What as the funniest moment for you in the movie? Han talks with the Death Gang and the Kanjiklub. 7. Do you think Rey might be a descendant from the Skywalker line, and if so is she Luke or Leia's daughter? Yes, I'm almost certain she's Luke's daughter, because R2 powers up when she arrives on D'Quan. 8. The death of Han Solo, your thoughts? Should he have died, should it have been done differently? It was great, but I think it could be more sudden and unexpected, it was clear since he starts walking towards Ren that he would be killed by his son. 9. How do you rate the lightsaber duel out of ten and in relation to previous lightsaber duels? 3/10 10. How to you rate the film score out of ten and in relation to scores from the previous movies? And if you have a favourite soundtrack/theme, which was it? 7/10. My favorite score was the final one, that blends the Force theme with that new score, really awesome! 11. If you could change one thing with the movie, what would it be? I think it could've been longer and with more extensive dialogues, the action just transpirred too quickly, there was no time to catch our breath. 12. Finn is featured wielding a lightsaber in the film and in promotional material, but he is never actually depicted using the Force. Do you think he is Force sensitive? No.
  4. I think it was a great movie, I rank him 4th on the saga overall - 5,6,4,7,3,1,2 btw - and as it indeed had a lot of similarities with ANH, it had a lot of fresher thing (female protagonist, undeveloped vilain, stormtroopers not so dumb, new droid, as much as I like R2 and 3PO, we needed something fresh). But I think this movie was intended to be similar, Disney saw what happened with TPM, they had to conquer the fans, and they had immense success, because people who didnt like the movie are really the minority here, and I'm not critiscizing them in any ways, it's just a fact. I hope episodes VIII and IX will a lot more "authentic", because they achieved the objective of bringing the fans to the history, now they'll be able to introduce their own ideas. Resuming, I think Ep. VIII and ESB will have a lot less similarities than TFA/ANH.
  5. The momentI I saw that droid that tought came into my mind.
  6. I will not read the 11 pages, I'll just comment on the tile of the topic. A lot of people, even long-time fans, complained about this. Probably they went to the movie thinking that Kylo Ren is the new Darth Vader. I saw a lot of people calling him a Sith. If someone that's not a die-hard fan says this, ok, I understand he automatically links the dark side to the Sith. But people taht call themselves aficcionados and complain about this in a Star Wars forum, I really can't understand. There are no active Force users on the Galaxy besides Ren and Snoke, and as I can see, Snoke didn't train him in lightsaber combat. So, Ren probably never had combat experience, Rey probably has more fighting time with that metal stick than him. And Finn surely received training with melee weapons as we see that Stormtroopers also uses them. And clearly Ren was just having fun with someone that betrayed him. And if people says that the movie is that bad, a "taint" as you called it, you must really hate ESB, because a boy who had de facto no training being able to even hold out a full trained Jedi Knight and Sith Lord (even if he was clearly holding back) seems a lot more absurd to me.
  7. But the producers has also said that it'll go to dark places. TCW wasn't totally dark, there were episodes that were totally aimed toward childs, this is obvious on the first two seasons, but even in the finals, anyone forgot the Droid Squad?
  8. Honestly, I think you are giving too much credit to GO-TO. After all, he's a droid, survival isn't his primary goal, it's not his instinct. If neccessary, he'll expose himself, it's unlikely that, if everything is lost, he'll hide and run for his life. Regarding Traya, if the DS was able to assassinate Malgus on Dromund Kaas, Traya in Malachor V won't be a great problem.
  9. The best was "this is a great pick - not a trap".
  10. We means the Star Wars community, at leat from what I see on these foruns. No one discarded the old EU, stoped discusions about it, in fact, things have changed nothing, everyone is treating the now called Legends like it always did: if it doesn't contradict official sources (movies, TCW, upcoming books, comics, games) it is being considered as part of the continuity.
  11. The canonicity of the Old Republic is unquestionable, it is well estabilished in various moments on the official canon sources that there was a Republic before the Ruusan reformation. About this game, as posted in another topic, we can consider it's the only "gray" piece of the old EU, that means it was not estabilished as part of the official canon, either it was confirmed as part of it. The final answer, I think, will come with the next expansion. If the story group is credited, like it was on Galactic Starfighter, on the game credits, then I think it's safe to say that it is part of canon.
  12. Yeah, I'm aware of that, but what's been discussed here is that someone said that TFU was never canon, even at the time it was launched. Also, we didn't change our treatment regarding canon, as long the Legends stuff doesn't contradict the official canon, we are taking them as part of the continuity. Like we always did.
  13. We gotta out of topic, I feel. We are discussing the overall power of the orders, that's not the matter at hand. By the time of the Sith Empire's return, Malgus was already one of the most powerful Sith, and later he would become the deadliest being in the Galaxy, not counting the Emperor of course. At his prime, he was superior to most Sith from the Rule of Two. Regarding Maul, there's a lot of factors. As a duelist, there's no doubt he is able to hold them both, we are talking about someone that Sidious couldn't defeat through lightsaber combat, even utilizing Jar'Kai. And I don't think Vindican and Malgus powers, combined, would be enough to overpower him with Force. So, if we are talking about Malgus at the time of the Return cinematic, I think Maul can defeat both him and Vindican. Against Malgus, alone, at his prime, I'm not so sure.
  14. Don't know from where you took this, TFU has always been part of the canon. Wether you like it or not, it's up to everyone, but it does'nt chagne it's canon.
  15. Now it's different, you didn't say general audience before, it's two very different things.
  16. See, that's why I indicated Nihilus, a lot of people still relate the totality of his powers to his Drain skill or to a Dark Side Nexus. They also don't see that his defeat at the hands of Surik was due to the fact she was a wound in the Force. It's not a possibility, it's a fact, if Surik was a "normal" Force user, she would have no chance against him. Nihilus feat on Malachor also can't be credited on the fact he was on a Nexus. The fact he was there doesn't mean he had to tap on that "extra" power, also, he was able to keep the Ravager together as he traveled throughout the Galaxy, so no, he doesn't need to be on a Nexus to perform this. And to say that Sion helped him to strip Traya from her powers... well, anyone who played the game and saw the cutscene knows that this makes no sense.
  17. As Selenial said, that's only because she was a wound. In terms of power, he was the strongest Force user of his time. And where's that stated? I agree that probably the Purge was her idea, since she was the head of the Triumvirate, but in the end, it was executed by Nihilus and Sion.
  18. I'm both hopeful and worried. Hopeful cause this has great potential, but worried that they don't do it too child-directioned, like they did on the first two seasons of TCW.
  19. I nominate Darth Nihilus. For me, a character often under-rated due to his Force Hunger skill. I think he deserves more credit than that, he was a great tactician and was the responsible for the First Jedi Purge.
  20. Honestly, I expect more than from RotHC. As the previous had a more tie-in feeling, I hope the next major expansion will begin a new chapter on the War, with a major character returning or being introduced, perhaps a new class?
  21. Probably someone already brought this up, but since I haven't seen on this topic, here it goes. Now, what I ask myself is: what Expanded Universe means here? As far as I understand, everything that is not part of the movies is still considered part of the EU, the difference now being that they are as canon as those movies. For example, the upcoming novels, they are part of the EU, right? What I'm trying to say is that, if TOR is considered as part of the EU from now on, it's canon, since all new EU is canon. That's my interpretation, but I'm not sure if that's really what was said, I wanted the opinion of more people, see if more follow my toughts or at least understands what I'm trying to say.
  22. I agree they will use it in those ways, but I don't see why the Sith species is so out of line. A villain-looking alien species being dominated by Humans Dark Jedi. And the movie's Sith is a completely different thing, the Sith species were extinct by that point.
  23. We who? I remember that debate, I participated in it, if I'm right it's from the Most Powerful Sith list. That was far from consensus. Really, I'm not criticizing anyone, but it's hard to debate in this foruns against some characters. Traya is one of them. Just because she is one of the greatest characters of SW universe, and I totally agree with that, people want to elevate her to the Elites level, which, for me, she clearly isn't. She never displayed great lightsaber proficiency - and keep in mind I'm comparing her with the most powerful fighters, not the average ones - and her Force abilities are more esotheric than powerful. I doubt she'll be able to use Force Drain in any of the other competitors. We've seen her use it on three Jedi Masters, not a small feat, but everyone knows they aren't even close to any of the participants of this match. Her conceal ability? You guys think she'll become invisible and wait in a corner, and no one will notice? Whend did this ever happened in a fight with someone as powerful as her opponents here? And we've never seen her use it in combat, which is very different than from using as she did to hide from Nihilus and Sion.
