Your WoW analogy is WAY off base. Having played WoW also I can tell you that hunter/shaman (per your initial example) do not share the same storyline, core abilities and a talent tree. NO, SWTOR ACs are NOT the same as WoW classes, not even close, BH ACs are MUCH closer to being WoW buids, such as Paladin dps (Ret) vs. Paladin healing (holy). The different WoW class builds share the same storyline, core abilities and talents. So your analogy is wrong, and just as WoW allows multiple builds, SWTOR should do the same at the core class level. All of your other arguments are void if WoW can allow folks to play as dps, healers, or tanks at will based on an instant respec, then SWTOR can do it too.

Hi all, hoping for some insights from either BW or anyone that may have read anything concerning incoming changes. I'm lvl 61 valor Merc, and since I have limited playing time atm, I pvp 1-2 hrs a day (just don't have the time to spend 2-4 hrs in flashpoints or raids). So, with that said, are there any changes coming to the Merc AC that would make it worth continuing to play? Anything? It's gotten so frustrating that I'm pretty much ready to give it up and move on to another game. I've got several alts, but I hate the idea of hanging up a toon in 5 piece WH. Any light at the end of the tunnel? Just hoping I guess.

Sir, you may want to stop posting, before you make a bigger fool of yourself. It's been shown time and time again that the talent trees are no where near identical and that pyro PTs have better dps, utility and survivability than a pyro Merc. I'm a Merc, so I wish it was not true, but I'm also lvl 61 valor and seen it time and time again. Try fighting a competent pyro PT one on one, you WILL NOT win. Period. Right now in solo or team play they are just flat out better.

Sorry, but with the state of the game BW will do anything to retain current and entice old players to return. They will do AC respec if they determine it will help memberships, period, the end. What they have said in the past has no relevance anymore, it's a new world, new game model and financially new priorities for them. No members, no money, no jobs is worse than upsetting a few and making many happy with paid respecs.

You are missing the entire point, it has nothing to do with "if you enjoy the game", it's a matter of value for your dollar. Sure, you will still get the same services for the same $15. However, you could get "MOST" of the same services for FREE if you unsub and go F2P. So, unless you raid or do group PVP there is almost added ZERO value to having a subscription (aside from some extra coins that you can use for "vanity" (read useless) items in game). So, would you pay $15 a month for something your neighbor or roommate gets for free? You'd be silly to do so.

Play the class with the playstyle you enjoy. If you like being at range and being able to heal, stick with Merc. If you prefer to mix ranged and melee with the option to tank, go PT. Never chase the Flavor of the Month class/build. As was mentioned, by the time you reach lvl 50 the situation could change significantly.

Gee, seems like some of you need to go back to school and learn to read. I did not complain, whine or threaten to quit. I simply asked if the suspected issues with heat signatures were addressed in the patch. If you want to help, post a link to the dev post that states everything is working as intended. If not, leave the thread and don't bother to post unsupported claims.

Has anyone tested to see if any of the issues with heat signatures and our attacks were addressed in this latest patch? I did log in for a minute and noticed that the GTN now defaults to "Regular" quality items, so you don't have to manually select a quality level for the search button to become active. Small but needed change. Please list any other changes noted.

There are several documented Merc dps bugs atm. Has anyone tested since the patch this morning to see if any of the bugs have been resolved. Or did BW decide that breaking the GTN was enough for one maintenance patch?

It's broken, fix it. Did anyone even test this before it went live? Your QA is shameful.

I'm really curious to know why the mods on this site lock perfectly acceptable threads that are informative and in no way abuse the posting guidelines? Nothing in a game infuriates me more than having thread I'm waiting for a response on locked for no reason. Why even have forums if you won't let people post?

By any definition, the GTN is BROKEN, it does not work as intended or with any form of logic or reason. Terrible coding by BW.

The GTN search function should be a very simple, straight forward function. Searches are the most basic of functions in computer code. How BW can consistently screw up the GTN is beyond me. It's an embarrassment that this current bug made it to the live servers. Anyone trying to use the GTN for any search would realize the bug immediately. It's broken and pretty much useless atm. I'm shocked that the quality control on this product is so low.

You honestly don't ever search a category to see ALL of the items for sale? I do all the time. You can not do that right now. The GTN is BROKEN, as in "not working as intended" which by definition is BROKEN.

It's broken, just confirmed. You can make a selection in all of the categories and the "search" button will stay gray and not execute the search. This is such an obvious bug that I'm shocked that it made it to the live servers. All anyone has to do is try to do a search and the bug is apparent. Obvious that a change was made to the GTN search, or a component that's used by search, and no testing was done. This is really, really sad quality assurance.

So it sounds like a dps PT can fill a dps slot in an operation with no issue?

I'm wondering how Powertech dps compares to other dps classes like Merc and Sorcerers in all aspects of the game, solo, flashpoints and operations. I'd like to mainly dps but don't know if a dps PT is viable in endgame play. Thanks in advance, appreciate all responses.
