  1. Another technique I noticed they use is to spam around the GTN using /say rather than general chat. This prevents players from quickly reporting them as spam through a right click, which seems not to work in /say.
  2. There is a quest on Hutta where you confront one such Sith who is trying to prevent his son from being sent to Korriban because he knew how brutal it was based on personal experiences. The mother, on the other hand, is trying to get the son to go and hired you to "deal" with the father.
  3. Considering how bloody easy the Emperor destroyed T3 in Revan, T7 shouldn't have lasted that long lore-wise. It would've been interesting to bring Kira along instead considering the history she had with the Emperor, but I think the story does a reasonable job explaining why she can't come and does a good job with her special rescue scene before the final fight.
  4. Yes, it is KOTOR 3 good. The Jedi Knight story fulfilled everything I wanted from a KOTOR 3 story. Unlike some other class stories, the Knight story feels very coherent throughout leading to a final goal. And the Kira romance is also very well done.
  5. OP, I applaud your optimism but I'm too jade about BioWare. Most of the stuff being listed has already been asked for by players since release.
  6. At first I thought this was a joke thread in response to BioWare shutting down the one about EA claims of 2-3 million players, and then I read the link. I actually LOL. Talk about a severe disconnect from the people who run the business and the people who play the game!
  7. This. Enzidar, while you may dismiss his example of Presidential debates, Nydus' point still stands that people are also trying to convince a third party, i.e. BioWare. People get invested in debates because they want to show to BioWare why a certain idea is worth pursuing or not. As someone with plenty of debating experience, I can tell you that the purpose is not to convince your opponent but to convince the judges that you are right (or failing that, your opponent is still wrong). I think it is great for people to really get into debates even if the two parties don't convince each other because it will give the third party, BioWare, perspectives from different angles.
  8. Way to completely miss my point. SWTOR was intended to be the cash cow that can be milked on the long run on par with WoW. They have repeatedly stated SWTOR would be a WoW's level. When they failed to achieve this, it will of course affect EA stock prices due to a loss of investor confidence. I never said it would be the end of the world for EA since I've acknowledged they got different things going for them, but it's also silly for people to underestimate how much EA had riding on SWTOR because, and let me say it again slowly for you: SWTOR was meant to be a huge cash cow that can provide long term predictable profits the way WoW does for Activision.
  9. The sad thing is we will probably have to pay for good looking robes...something which should've been in the game since release.
  10. Keep in mind that Watchman's Zen can heal the entire group in Juyo, which actually relieves noticeable pressure from healers. This is always helpful. In terms of the Guardian's ability to tank, it's really negligible IMHO if you are filling a DPS spot because those emergencies where the MT and OT goes down are (hopefully) rare. DPS wise both are viable even if Sentinel pulls ahead. However, I personally give utility to a Watchman.
  11. Hahaha, I love your comment about trooper team looking like a circus, because I feel the same way about my Havoc Squad. I got myself the cool Exalted legacy set for my trooper alt, but everyone else looks like a bunch of buffoons. And yes, customization companion appearance should be in the game a long time ago. Heck, LOTRO was able to do that for soldiers when they released the skirmish system. Yet, BioWare has yet to show any signs of getting the ball rolling. Guess they were busy with F2P plans.
  12. And yet, you do not address my point that recruit gear will be replaced very, very quickly by anyone who PvPs consistently making its purchase a very poor investment. Instead, you rather force players to waste credits, in a game with many credit sinks, that could be better used elsewhere on gear that will be replaced in about two weeks of PvPing or to exclude them from PvP completely. This is what I wrote (which you quoted) in response to your scenario of undergeared players in PvE encounters: And that's why many players, including myself, run with guildies and friends who are capable, both gear and skill-wise, to handle the content instead of complaining in the forums about the need for a gear check in the LFG tool. Now exactly where is the insult? Am I not stating a fact? Are you not here complaining that undergeared fresh 50s "do nothing" and want BioWare to exclude them from unranked PUGs unless they spend money on recruit gear? If you don't like being called out on insulting and editing out the post, then don't it in the first place rather than try to turn the tables with "fish for an auto win." No it's not. Unranked PvP is unranked PvP where anyone should be able to participate due to its PUG nature. You get highly skilled folks in WH gear to fresh 50s to non-PvPers taking a break from the PvE grind. Either you play with the hand you are dealt or you play in ranked warzones where expertise is needed on any competitive team. And that's why many players, including myself, run with guildies and friends who are capable, both gear and skill-wise, to handle the content instead of complaining in the forums about the need for a gear check in the LFG tool. O wait, I better not say that because it's an insult apparently. So you are implying that you do participate in ranked warzones. Then frankly, I don't see any reasonable grounds for you to complain. If you are playing at the competitive level where expertise is required, then why are you complaining about unranked PvP where players from different playstyles converge in PUGs? Is it that hard for you to get the measly amount of normal warzone commendations required for ranked gear? Let those players participate, have their fun, get their BM gear as we all did at one point or another (i.e. including before the free recruit gear). And if they get frustrated and quit because of getting pwned by BM/WH players, that's their call. Fortunately, no one needs to worry about your call to exclude certain players from unranked PUGs with F2P coming up. With F2Pers already having limited access to warzones and declining subscription numbers, BioWare would be shooting itself on the foot by following your suggestion to shrink the pool of players for unranked PUGs.
  13. While it's important to keep everything in perspective, I think some of the posters here are underestimating the intention of having SWTOR as a cash cow to provide EA with a predictable (i.e. subscriptions) income over the long term without going through up and down development cycles. In this regard, BioWare and EA has clearly failed and F2P is an attempt to salvage the game's long term profits.
  14. It's funny how you are making assumptions about me and my gear. Does it occur to you that I can be opposed to a suggestion that limits ANYONE's participation in an aspect of game that is meant to be a free for all PUG? If you want to avoid dealing with this problems, the solution is simple: join a team for ranked PvP. So why aren't you? A speeder or whatever else. Doesn't matter. Given how quickly a dedicated PvPer can get Battlemaster gear, it's a waste of credits to buy recruit gear (i.e. stuff that will be replaced in less than 2 weeks vs a speeder you will use for the rest of your SWTOR career--the choice is pretty obvious). Right. That's what I've been saying all along and that's what I don't understand about players like you and the OP who are complaining. You don't want to play with green geared players. BioWare has provided ranked war zones for you to play with other players who are properly geared while given you opportunities to earn greater rewards not available to those pesky new 50s you so detest. Unranked PvP should be left as is. So, I say again, what's stopping you from playing ranked PvP? Do not take my comment about end game PvE gear out of context. I never said end game PvE gear is comparable to BM/WH gear. I am agreeing with omega's comment that it's much better than recruit gear. Please "waky waky" and read the thread. LOL, I've done plenty of reading and actual playing of SWTOR and am well aware of mechanics. I like how you and other person arguing against me have resorted to levelling insults. A sign of someone who can't really make a good case for him/herself.
