  1. Hey mates! Just a simple question: I know that we have to focus almost everything in Power and Surge when gearing, but, after the last patches, how much of Accuracy and Critical should we put? Thanks! P.S.: Bioware really made gearing a pain, with those crappy and useless stats on the PvP gear. Almost every piece has to be modified after you get it...
  2. Thank you very much, bro! It was very clarifying!
  3. Just wanting to leave no doubt about it: Which classes and specs can remove DOTs? Which abilities of them can do that? What is the difference between Cleanse and Purge? What can they do with DOTs? Thanks!
  4. OMG!!! That made me LOL so hard, that I almost cracked my belly! And, indeed, I`ve already seen those Mandos/Mercs too! :D:D
  5. Hey Partner! Glad to see a post like this in the Mercenaries` Forum for a change. I am pretty sure that a "good mood" post of a Merc won`t make BW do any nerf to our class. Everyone has a chance to have a little happiness in life, even Mercenaries... I agree with every point of your OP. But I got to say that your UI is kinda crazy, though... I always had fun with my Merc even in Ranked WZ, sometimes winning, sometimes losing badly. I know our class is not good at PvP, but I never let it on the shelf, just learned to live with it, knowing my place in WZ, learning the ˜what to do`s" and (specially) the ˜what not to do`s" in every map. I must say that we mercenaries received some nice defensive tricks to play with 2.0, but I`m afraid that the Pyro spec tree suffered a huge blast, for both Mercs and Powertechs. Right now, I am rolling Arsenal for PvP, and having some very good time with it. The defensive tools just got much better in Arsenal. But everything still very green in Warzones, and before the regulars PvPers got all their level 55 augmented gear, learn all the new abilities and BW do something with lolbolster, we can`t have anything for sure. I will just keep "spamming my tracers" (lol, jking) until everyone knows how to shut me down...
  6. Pyro was really funny before 2.0. But now Bioware left a message to all Bounty Hunters: STOP PLAYING WITH FIRE! They made a huge nerf in the Pyro spec for Powertechs, one of the strongest PvP class until then. What happened is that the Pyro Mercenaries became the ˜innocent bystanders victims" of Bioware shooting. When they nerfed the Powertech Pyro tree, they had hit us, because we share the same spec tree. Pyro spec tree was the humble PvP alternative for us, because it allowed us to make some damage while moving. We were the ˜poor brother" of Pyro Powertechs, and now that the Pyro Powertechs are very poor, you can imagine how Pyro Mercs ended up in PvP... By now, I changed my spec to Arsenal, and having some great time with that. It has a lot of defensive tricks now. Worth giving a try...
  7. Well, I understand how Powertechs are feeling right now... they are the "new mercenaries". They got ******* so bad in their biggest atribute. And hitting them BW ended up ******* Mercs too, because the Powertech`s skill spec that got nerfed is shared with Mercs, and that was the only one that was barely Ok to Warzones. I can tell that the Arsenal tree may be good right now for Mercs and some Powertechs are saying that Advanced Prototype or even the Tank spec are the way to go this time. Well, fellow hunters, it is time to re-spec and re-learn. My conclusion is that Bioware is sending a very clear message to all Bounty Hunters: STOP PLAYING WITH FIRE!

  9. ^ this! Grind gear is a "carrot in the stick" to MMO players, PvE or PvP. The old system (free Recruit, Tier 1 and Tier 2 - PvP gear) was doing OK. Couldn`t see anything wrong with that. If BW were so concerned about the gap between the tiers, they could make the Recruit gear a little better, as we had just a very little gap between WH and EWH. I know that a lot of people are posting this, but the naked (bolster? oops!) truth is: add this same bolster system to the PvE Operations, with crazy naked PvP players slaping HM The Terror from Beyond in the face, and PvE players will be occupying the front doors of EA`s building, breaking the cars of EA`s CEOs with baseball bats!
  10. You are right... today, as a Mercenary, I could rip off some of the best Maras of my server, but the Operatives/Scoundrels... boy they were really kicking my ***** Two shotguns blasts in the back and "I became more powerful than you can imagine..."
  11. Don't remember much, coz it was almost year ago, but it was at Dromund Kaas, one military hires you to kill his daughter. After you made her "become one with the Force", the father asks you to leave Kaas imediatly, because he cannot stares at the face of the man who killed his daughter. My BH came with the line: "Well, you will have to avoid to look at yourself in a mirror for a long time..." Bazinga!!
  12. I've heard that most of the sons of EA's CEOs play Marauders/Sentinels and had terrible nightmares with Arsenal Mercs before the nerf with the patch 1.2... BW guys just want to keep their jobs, so don't expect any buff on Mercs, but just nerf after nerf. But you can easily expect a "damage buff" in the Marauder's "monkey smash" because those EA's CEOs kids still find their Marauders/Sentinels "too squishy"... ;)
  13. Besides the discussion healer / DPS companion, I preffer to go with Mako just because I love to hang out with a hot chick! By the way, the levelling was a piece of cake and we could even solo a lot of Flashpoints! I really love healers, that's why I married a hot medic in Real Life... :D:D:D
  14. Thank you for the reply, bud! Now I will keep that option in my skill tree.
  15. Please don't hate me! I had just expressed my opinion about the class we share in common. I can do good with my merc and I'm pretty shure you can do even better with yours, but the point is we both could do a lot (I mean, a lot) more with a PT. I love being a Merc., the dual pistols make me feel I'm in a "John Woo's Movie". The animations are cool. The AoE of fusion missile and sweeping blasters can do some decent damage, specially with a Pyro spec. To take the smash monkeys from a large range distance is pretty cool too. But we cannot deny the fact, specially to the newcomers, that PTs are way much stronger than mercs. As for myself, I don't really know if I would change to PT if I had a chance. I would feel naked using only one pistol. But I think that the new Bounty Hunters must be warned, before pick their A.C. Cya's
  16. That! By the way, if we Mercs/Mandos are better than you PT/VG, why in the name of God most of us would give an arm to have a chance to change our A.C. into yours?
  17. First advice: change to Pyro (see above), a class that can't move properly and everybody knows how to interrupt is not viable in PvP. As a pyro you will survive a lot more. Assuming you started a month ago, I may guess that you didn't get a lot of gear yet, so, I can give you the best advice of all: As you don't have so much to loose, start your character again and change your Advanced Class to POWERTECH, right now!
  18. Very well pointed, Zunayson. IMO, Huttball (like this map or not), is the WZ where you can mostly have different tasks to be done for each one of the ACs, in a way that, at least, most of them can use their unique talents to contribute to the team... even for a (only DPS) defender like myself.
  19. That! Actually, as a Mercenary, this is one of the WZs that I can do best, playing as a Defender. This map has a lot of scape routes (as a Merc. your main ability is to know when and how to run away - LOL!)
  20. I was an Arsenal PvPer for about 5 months, but respecced to Pyro 3 monts ago. I may say that I can do so much more with a Pyro than I was able to do with an Arsenal... Of course, you burst straight damage is not as awsome as you may do with the Arsenal rotation, but the fact that you don't have to remain still count much more in a WZ. With an Arsenal your damage results at the end of WZ are like "tottaly awsome" (against a team that gently let you spend 4,5 sec. casting) or "pretty much sucked" (against a team that only had to interrupt you). As a Pyro, if you are let alone you can do some good damage too, but, if not let alone, you can do as well. The results are more ballanced at the ends, because you can try to kite and move a lot, doing damage as your are running. Your survivability is far more better than as an Arsenal, but remember that you're still a Merc... the very bottom of the food chain. One thing people would count as a "downpoint" is the fact that, as a Pyro, you actually have to manage your heat, something that you don't even notice as an Arsenal.
  21. Very well pointed! It will be nice to have those "3 levels of terrain and the hazards" in other maps, like control points or attack/defense styles. Think in a WZ at Rancor pit, with you have to jump from skiffs and a Sail Barge... a lot of levels and a deadly (and hungry!) trap... and maybe with some funny scream when someone falls in it....
  22. The problem that most people complain about HB are those matches where a PUG faces a Pre-Made. IMO, it is an issue that can happen in every WZ map. Of course, in HB it puts the match to end up in about 4-5 min., which I think it is kinda better than get steamrolled for 10-15 in Civil War, for an example. I think HB is funny because, even in a PUG, if everyone knows the advantages and the limitations of their own classes, you get a very well tasks division, better than in any other WZ, in which anyone has their own importance as carriers, scorts and defenders.
  23. I could do 400k with an arsenal merc, if let alone or healed as hell. But if a melee wanted me dead I would be... plain and simple. Two months ago, I changed to pyro. The numbers may be not as big as sometimes I could do with an arsenal spec, but I can manage to kite and survive a lot in situations that would be impossible as an arsenal. The point is if someone is good enuff to do a good job with an Arsenal Merc or Pyro Merc, he could do a lot more as a PT Pyro. Same thing with Light Sorc / Tele Sage or Letal Agent / Dirty Fight Scoundrel, if changed to the other DPS tree of the AC.
  24. Right now, the classes that do bad in PvP are those which the best abilities need to be casted and don't have many CCs or "utilities". The great champion of sucking, IMO, would be Arsenal Mercenary / Gunnery Commando. They don't have any game utility at all; have one instant 4 sec. / 10 m. stun and one 2 sec. cast mez (with 2 min. CD) and no "oh sh**t" running away button. No AoE CC. The only thing they can offer to a team is DPS, and to be really effective in DPSing, they must remain gently "forgotten" by the other team, for about 4,5 sec. to cast 3 tracer missiles and make their burst damage. They are in the bottom of the food chain in 1vs1 fight and only can do something in ranked WZs if their team play focusing in protect them. It is a PvE class.
