  1. I agree with the OP some of us have been around long enough that we have gotten all of the items on their first pass through the game. We either need new items or items that we can always use more of to spend down tokens on. While I support the idea of adding the purple black striated crystals to the vendor that wouldn't help people in my situation out any. Something that people have that I'm sure they wouldn't mind a spare set of would be the XP reward armor from DvL. Make it expensive, 30 season tokens for the full set. This would give people that only got partial sets a chance to finish out their set. It would allow newer players to get the XP gear for the first time and for those of us that have the gear we can alway make use of another set. Another option with all the blow-back about the cartel coin reduction would be to offer a trade of season tokens for cartel coins. This would give people a reward they can use on something they don't have and it doesn't really cost the game anything. Nothing crazy maybe 100 coins per season token. This over the season would give players up to 1500 additional tokens still making a net reduction from the previous season but being slightly less painful for the players and giving us all something we can spend season tokens on once we have everything. Just a few suggestions to make it better rather than just adding to the chorus of discontent
  2. As an active CE player I'm glad that they have opened this vendor up to others. It doesn't really have anything that there isn't already a variant available in game aside from the 2 decos and the dye packs that people flip and price gauge on the GTN. (Something wrong with people buying 2k vendor items just to list them on the GTN for 200k.) If this helps all the loyal paying members to further enjoy the game I say more power to them. Next lets get the pre-order yellow black crystal vendor opened up! PS. Kind of happy that my wife will now have access to the vendor after all this time seeing as she is the one that bought me the collector's edition.
  3. Hello SWTOR Team, I wanted to wait until the test server was closed to give my feedback of how it felt playing the Sorc play style. My main on the live server is a Madness Sorc and my secondary is a Corruption Sorc so I have a bit of experience with the class. I am sorry I rarely played Lightning so I will not comment on that play style as I don't have a point of reference. I played through from start to finish with the Madness spec and by end game it feels almost comparable to the current end game with a few notes missing. The path to end game feels poorly planed out. The biggest complaints I have for Madness from a leveling standpoint is that it is a light armor dot spread class and you have broken that progress by the order that abilities are granted. This is to say that getting the dot spread at 25 is a nice improvement if we didn't have to wait for level 50 for the dots to become available. I could understand granting only one dot early on to give new players a better understanding of the way to play the class and then drop in the other dots but the choice of death field with nothing to spread for 25 levels is a miss step. This would not be so difficult to mitigate if you had crowd control abilities or DCD's as madness has on the live server. I think that if as a veteran player who goes to planets over-leveled I had some pulls that almost overwhelmed me, you are going to make new players just starting out hate the class. A point I think hits the hardest with Sorcs is you really can feel the reduction in alacrity. It felt like it took an eternity to do anything on the test server. I spent some time trying to mix and match gear pieces to recover some of that alacrity to no avail. Maybe I should have brought over a crafter to try some augments but in general the class felt slugish on the force regen (both from the alacrity and the loss of the utility for lightning to add force back to the pool) and casting. You may be planing some sort of set bonus or new tchotchke to off set this but as of what was on the test server the class now feels slow. As for PVP (keep in mind that you couldn't pay me to pvp on the live server) I found the balance to be much better. It is very obvious that pvp is what you balanced the classes to (not that it is a bad thing per se just not my cup of tea) and for the first time in years Madness feels competitive. I was in a few matches with a member of my live server guild and he was laughing at the fact that as a Sorc I didn't just melt anymore. In fact I was able to get kills so from a PVP standpoint I feel that you have put Madness on equal footing. Things I would like to see for Madness for leveling and learning purposes: At least one DOT before getting the dot spread Whirlwind much sooner to help with crowd management (in the absence of dot spread and shields) Add back additional weak or standard enemies to Whirlwind for PVE a passive or opt in to have force lightning add force back to the pool If I had my choice I'd like to keep both extrication and phase walk to help teach new players OPs but that is more wish list than need for the class. As for the play through what I found was playing against story (ie Sorc for warrior story) is that fights that were designed to be hard for particular play styles are easily slept through with another play style. For example A Jug playing the boss fight in the inquisitor story on Nar-Shaddaa does not suffer any ill effects from his force being interrupted where for a Sorc it adds a challenge. Just my 2 cents the game could use a pass to make some fights challenging for the off styles too. I do look forward to seeing what happens on the live server and thank you for putting up the test server and accepting feed back from the community. The_Wulff PS Sorry if I rambled a bit I have a toddler and haven't had a ton of sleep the last few days
  4. I took it to mean any weekly for heroics but odds are you will want to do more just to grind for your 322 gear.
  5. The mission to start the feast is once per toon. If you did the starer mission the last time you can just jump into the dailies and weeklies.
  6. Just wait to see what people can shoot you with today
  7. The original PST post said mid January so I'm hopeful that they intend to keep it open for MLK weekend so people get a long weekend to try to churn through a ton of objectives.
  8. Best guess is it's a broken bot that forgot to pick up the loot but harvested the nodes.
  9. Cooking Minigame - Did you enjoy the cooking minigame Missions? Yes - Were you able to understand the objectives? If not, what was unclear? Objectives were clear - Did the difficulty of challenge dishes feel appropriate? Yes, for a once a year fun event it felt like players new and old could complete their missions. - Did you prefer the timed challenge dish (Ultimate Galactic Sampler) or the untimed challenge dish (Spicy Nexu Supreme) mission? Both were enjoyable. - Would you like to see both types of challenge mission in the live version? Yes, More variety is always preferred. - Did you have difficulty interacting with any of the ingredients? If so, which ones? No, but the target area for the mouse-over text for some of the smaller items like the vinegar could be increased to make it clearer that it is an ingredient and not just part of the background detail. - What did you enjoy the most? The least? I like that they were short, fun mini games. I think having more than one chance to play the mini game each day would be nice. The re-plays wouldn't need to give a big reward maybe just a few credits or a title for lots of play throughs over the event. Cantina Rush Minigame - Did you enjoy the Cantina Rush Minigame Missions? Yes, with a caveat. I found that the mission was bugged for me every time I attempted it. I would enter the dining area, take command of the droid, but the mission would never finish. I could see that the counter in the kitchen was advancing however when it would hit 25 the mission would not complete. - Do you think it needs to be harder in the hard mode? I can not tell as the mission for me did not play correctly. - What did you enjoy the most? The least? I liked the general concept of the mini game. The droid tends to hang up on objects like chairs and table corners without them being directly in it's path. Prep Work Daily Missions - Did any of these missions take too long to complete? I have only tried one so far but the time to complete was about right. The item re-spawn was a good speed for the number of people on the test server but may need to be tweaked for large groups on the live server. - Did you have any difficulty completing world boss missions while in a group? NA not enough people on when I could test. - Were the objectives for all prep work missions clear? Yes Let us know your thoughts! A few of my thoughts are: The conversations with the Hutts need to be fixed. It is rude of them to turn their back to you while in conversation . While I did see the event and weekly counters in the kitchen for the Cantina Rush Minigame It isn't obvious that it is there and could go to explain why people are complaining about having to work a real server's shift with no tips. Moving them to a more obvious place or adding a count to the mission like bonus missions have just to make sure everybody knows where they are in progress could help. While I did enjoy the event I think adding a free play mode where you can re-play the minigames after getting your reward just to practice or as a race / challenge with friends would add to the re-play value of this event.
  10. It could be coming or it was just a courtesy on the test server to give people an extra bay so they would have room for the new gear they were testing. Whatever the case you will be getting a bunch of new storage space from the crafting bag providing that is going in (also didn't see it in the notes).
  11. Just a quick question about the patch notes. I know this may be an outlying situation but there may be a few others in the same situation. In the notes it says that With the server mergers do we get one set per server that had merged legacies or do we get one set per server originally completed on? I'm fairly certain that it is one set per current server but I wanted to be sure.
  12. If that isn't how it works you will have to tell my 3 healers that. I got all their healing gear on my madness sorc. The gear that drops from crates is dependent on your selected role not your actual discipline. Edit: Added for clarity. It sucks leveling a healer as a healer. Things don't die fast enough or if you do the damage your comp needs to do the healing and neither way is efficient for solo content. Sure it is solo so it doesn't matter how long it takes unless you have a limited time to play each week. Having 1 high level toon that is already geared out that can grind tier 4 gear helps. As a parent of a very young child I only get an hour a day to play now so every efficiency I can find I use. The only determining factor beyond your advanced class for the command crate rolls is the group content role you identify your self as. This went into place in 4.0 with the dark vs light stuff and it is still in place as part of the command crate system. If you haven't tried it yet do your self a favor and switch your personal role to the role for your class that you are not playing and do a few dailies to get a few command crates. Open them and see what they are dropping gear for. All set gear that drops will be for your choice of discipline not your actual path that you have opted into. If you do the same with both choices the crates will drop gear for either.
  13. As to the question of why am I getting gear not for me. Have you selected your role for group content? In the Group Content window (the little icon that looks like 3 people next to the mini map) you pick the role you play. If you are a Sage by default it picks both DPS and Healing and you can get drops for either role. If you pick just DPS you will get just DPS gear and if you pick just healing you will get just healing gear. I personally will pick against my role for solo content to get gear for same class alts in different roles.
  14. It will change you can still pick 60 to start KOTET/KOTFE or 70 to start Ossus
  15. There was a Dev post a while back about this. Spend them now. The devs have said that the tokens will have an intentionally low conversion rate to encourage people to use them before 6.0 hits. The best thing I can think of for use are buying CXP Boosts, they will convert into Renown boosts.
  16. To tell the truth by the time I hit Alderann I'm usually around 55-60 so by the time I get to Voss I'm already using non XP gear. I totally agree that the XP gear is great for leveling and I too do tons of solo stuff. I personally haven't found a situation that required me to do more than keep up with my weapon and offhand. Then again different players and different play styles. I think I personally would like a few more sets even if for nothing else than to leave the set on my leveling toons. As for the bank full of mats you should really check out the test server Some Good News
  17. I get the Victorious Pioneer sets mixed up. Are you talking about the 50% XP bonus gear or the cosmetic reward gear? I just ask for clarification as you should get the cosmetic gear on each toon in the mail when you make them. It can also be recalled off your legacy achievement for the DVL event. If you are asking about the XP gear I can see where someone having infinite XP gear would be problematic. I think the devs thought it would be a cool reward but also figured in that people loose things and through attrition over time the sets would work them selves out of the game. I have a legacy bank tab just for legacy gear and keep mine there so it doesn't get lost or deleted by accident. I tend not to bother with the mods and enhancements. You get so far over leveled that the added stats from the gear pieces get tossed out with the downscaling anyway. Bright side I saw a yellow post not too long ago saying that the devs were considering giving the xp gear as a reward again in the future so keep an eye out for that.
  18. As far as I know the free 65 was a one time gift for being subbed around the 5th anniversary. There was also a free 60 that you could get if you were subbed at the launch of 4.0 that later could be used for a free 65 if you still had it when the level cap changed. Other than those 2 times I am unaware of the SWTOR team offering a free 65. If you had the free tokens in the past and they are missing it may be worth it to put in a trouble ticket.
  19. The R series of graphics chips work just fine. I just gave an R9 something or other (out of my spare parts bin) to my brother in law to use until his replacement gpu comes in. It's the later stuff like the RX line and newer that have issues and I don't know if it is the way radion is writing the graphics drivers or if it has to do with the changes to open gl standards but there is something with the newer chips that disagrees with the game.
  20. For PVE towards the end of the run for gearing with coms they swapped the name to crystals. They tried to sell it as another way to gear but it was still the same old coms just with a new name and picture. Even the prices stayed the same for the PVE gear. From my standpoint being forced to grind dailies and weeklies just to get gear was no fun. With the Command Levels and Crates I can at least play what I want in game and still be working toward a full set of gear. It may take me 5 times as long as the next person but I can get there. If I run flashpoints with friends I am working towards gear. If I roam around Hoth killing mobs as I look for datacrons I am working towards gear. If I am just playing story chapters I am working towards gear. It may not be the most efficient way but it allowed me to get gear. With that said I can fully get that for PVP players the new system isn't as good as what was once there and I don't dispute that some attention needs to be given to that player base. I just don't think tossing out something that does help a portion of the population just because it isn't the answer for your preferred part of the game is selfish. We can have a PVP coms system and a RNG crate system for those that play other content. The system doesn't need to be perfect we just need to keep working towards better.
  21. I'm seldom going to tell people to update their drivers for errors with this game after seeing 4 game updates that broke playability just because people got new driver updates. To tell the truth the game still doesn't work right on many radion graphics cards due to the way anti-aliasing is handled and how it interacts with the graphics driver.
  22. Yes, but it was specific to pvp and pvp gear only. There were also coms later re-named to glowing crystals (god knows why) and they were not able to be moved from toon to toon. You had to grind them out on each toon on their own. They only dropped from doing heroics. I 100% understand your frustration with the current system and agree that they dropped the ball as far as gearing for NIM. With that said I do agree harder content should reward better gear faster but I also don't feel that the player that comes into the game for 2 hours a day 3 days a week to do their raid times should be the only ones to get decent gear. The player that plays 4 hours a day 5 days a week after work obviously puts in more time and yet does not have the same opportunities for gearing. Is it fair that the person that plays 6 hours a week should be able to gear while the person playing 20 hours a week is still in greens? The RNG (love it or hate it) did give the person playing 20 hours a week the chance to be geared. It is nowhere as fast as gearing through OPs but they can still do it. SM currently drops tier 2 gear you need to grind 90 cxp levels before you get your first tier 2 crate and in my experience you only get about 4 set pieces per tier and most times they overlap. With that happening you don't complete your set bonus until you are at or above 300. Taking Ossus out of the equation (I agree that was not the way to add 2 tiers of gear) I think the time vs difficulty balance wasn't bad with command. Ignoring Ossus gearing became a time vs difficulty trade off, if you did the hard stuff you cut days or months off gearing. Hell doing sm OPs I can gear in tier 2 fully in under an hour and a half where doing the command system it will take me over a week to get into tier 2 drops. I think people when they are being short changed on opportunity need to speak up so they don't get overlooked but we don't need to punish others for their choice of game play either.
  23. You are welcome to your opinion and you may want to copy over a character to the test server to get a better understanding of what is going on with gearing. Gear is now to be acquired from daily areas, flashpoints, and Operations. RNG, Vendors and Crafting are supposed to be supplemental. They are working out the bugs right now but it does feel like you will be competitive in most content fairly quickly. To give you another perspective until they introduced the RNG crates I only once got a full set of end game gear. Being dependent on not getting a terrible pug that ninjas all the loot was not something I wanted to ever do again. With the crates I have gear for dps, and healing or tanking for multiple toons. I agree that they needed to balance the RNG with other ways to gear. They did a bit of that shortly after the original command crates by adding back loot drops to OPs and the addition of good loot to many content areas will just make life easier for people that don't want to grind CXP or in this case RXP. I am not going to say it is perfect but it is getting better and it is far better than having to grind the same heroics over and over for coms/glowing crystals to get gear.
  24. You are absolutely right I am not the OP nor can I read his/her thoughts however I can read their words they typed and I will highlight the ones that say it is a mental exercise for fun implying it is not a suggestion but a conversation starter. As you can see their own words for fun. With that said I have no more to say to you than to wish you well.
