Thanks a lot for the replies. Answering to a General and hearings before the senate during the class storyline is all good as I'm happy to play Republic grunt throughout that. I'm more interested in what happens after (during Shadow of Revan onwards) Surely it's harder to play the leader of a joint alliance when you're so firmly attached to one camp? When I say merc I don't necessarily mean someone who just wants a paycheck, but more similar to how I now play my Agent in that he looks out for Imperial interests, but works independently of any overseeing organisation. In KotFE Havoc has essentially gone rogue anyway so I guess I can make that fit. I don't actively roleplay, I just have an idea of how I want my character to be and that governs choices I make in game and how I choose to style that character.

So I'm playing a Trooper for the DvL event mainly because I hadn't played one before. I was thinking once I've played through the main storyline, it'd be kinda fun to make him more of a mercenary that assists the republic rather than being an actual part of the army, My question is; does the storyline make that work? Or is there any particular ending I can work toward that results in leaving the republic army? (I know an Imperial Agent can do this) Even in KotFE if the Outlander is a trooper is he still considered part of the Republic army?

I had fun playing it (someone in general chat said it was a little like a GTA heist and he wasn't wrong) but it kind of felt like a distraction rather than part of the main story. I'd have preferred the chapter was about going in and extracting Kaliyo and Jorgan. Still, as I said it was fun and I won't mind re-playing it. As an aside, I was prepared for my Agent to cheat on his previous romance for Vette, and I was disappointed there's no flirt options at all. I've yet to play through with my Warrior. I expect it'll be different (at least I hope so as they're married) but she's actually a pretty bad fit for all but the most light-sided Warriors. If anything she seems more light hearted and jokey in this chapter than in the Warrior story, she'd have got on better with my Agent. P.S. Being able to intimidate a guy while doing Wookiee impressions was also a highlight.

My downloader got stuck on 'updating' the red bar at the bottom is at 100% and 'play' is greyed out. The first time this happened, I shut down and restarted the client. This means I had to spend a whole day re-downloading the game. I wake up this morning to find it in exactly the same state of 'updating' It even says 'complete' in the lower right but I can't play. Any possible fixes? Hopefully one that doesn't mean downloading the whole game again.

I do find it kind of odd the LI comps are taking so long to find us. Given that the Outlander is now somewhat of a celebrity with holovids of his/her appearance floating around, am I supposed to believe a slicer of Mako's ability hasn't tracked me down. Nadia Grell is so strong with the force she could sense the consular even when frozen in carbonite, now he's thawed, he should be pretty easy to sense out. So far all the KotFE comps have been sought out by us, surely at least one is going to be able to get a message to the Outlander saying 'come get me' even if they don't know about the base on Odessen?

According to my login screen I haven't done the Bounty Hunter 1-50 story. My level 63 Mercenary begs to differ. I was previously at 6/8 stories, it has gone to 5/8.

My Agent didn't romance Kaliyo, well he kinda did, but then she went and sold Imperial secrets, and my Agent doesn't want no leaks on his ship, so he called it off and romanced Temple instead. Got an email from Temple in KotFE, but not Kaliyo. In the fixed chapter X, there's a conversation with Kaliyo where you have the option to 'resume your romance' now is this because my Agent and Kaliyo kinda messed around, or is this now for all Agents? Does KotFE assume a relationship with Kaliyo? Just wondering if it's going to cause problems when Temple returns. Will KotFE assume she wasn't romanced?

So my ship is really empty these days, and playing space missions it seems like my Agent has gone stir crazy as he keeps talking to himself. I'd like to be able to get some crew members back. Even if it was the lazy thing of adding your old crew back as and when they appear in the KotFE storyline, and there's no reason not to have Treek and HK in there. But it could be done even better if there was a console in the ship that enabled a mode like the hooks in strongholds and you could assign any of your current companions to a selection of spaces on the ship.

I've done the endgame thing on other MMOs. It can be fun, but I don't have the time for the commitment any more, but I would like to experience the group content in SWTOR, I'd just like to do it with like-minded players who don't care if I haven't got all the latest gear and watched all the videos of encounters. If other MMOs have taught me anything, it means some of the content will be unplayable for me and that's fine, I just want to relax and run some group content and have the social side of being in a guild. I'm in my mid 30's and would prefer to be in a guild with people around that age. While I know some young people can act pefectly maturely, it would be weird if I hung around with kids in real life, so I feel the same online My main is a 65 Sniper, But my Merc and Warrior aren't too far behind.

To be fair, this is probably for the best. Several of us had played Chapter X a couple of times trying different choices to try and get it complete. If it autocompleted the chapter, we'd have no control over which attempted playthrough would be our canon one. As much as I didn't enjoy this chapter, so long as it works this time, I'm ok with re-doing it. Just wish the patch didn't take so long to download! Background downloaders are pretty much standard in most MMOs, not sure why SWTOR doesn't have one. I could be completing Chapter X while I wait for XI to download.

This is the worst bit for me. Games break. It happens. Especially MMOs. It's forgivable, but to not have someone take 2 minutes to post a message saying 'hi guys, sorry about this. we're working on it and hope it's fixed soon' or similar, isn't. Neither is not updating the patch notes so that at least agent players who don't check the forums don't think the issue is fixed and waste their time doing it again.

No I have her in the available comps list, but I can't summon her, Lana, Theron or Koth as they're all greyed out. EDIT: just tried looping again to see if it was fixed. It's not, but I didn't get the 5k email this time. I was gonna delete it anyway, but amusing/frustrating that they've fixed this but not even got back to us with an ETA of a fix for the game itself.
