  1. This. It's not hard, people just suck at the game. I've run through it plenty and there's only a handful of runs where I ever encountered trouble.
  2. Weekly caps buy the development team precious weeks as they race to figure out how to develop more content for us to consume. It's still a terrible idea because we're going to chew through their content before they have the next batch ready no matter what they do. It's also kind of ******** since not having commendation caps used to be a subscriber perk.
  3. Those numbers seem a little high. I was under the impression that the DR curve got squashed a bit with 2.0.
  4. This sounds like a terrible idea. It would be abused and would end up discouraging players from queueing while offering no actual benefits to anyone. You can already be an exclusionary jerk, but don't ask for the game mechanics to incorporate that. That's just poor design.
  5. 1. There are two enormous threads in the tanking forum devoted to mathing out the optimum stat spread, but I'm not aware of any concrete conclusions. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken on that. 2. There is no need for Alacrity. The curve on it is pretty awful and it doesn't add much utility for tanking. I wouldn't bother investing any points in it. 3. The usefulness of Accuracy is up for debate.
  6. I wouldn't go so far as to say leave it to FPS games, but yeah MMO PvP is pretty bottom of the barrel. If you're gonna do PvP you really have to build your entire game around it, and I don't know of many MMOs that have done that. The mechanics and game design choices that work for PvE usually don't mesh well with the needs of PvP, so trying to tack on a PvP section in a game that's been built primarily for PvE is just foolish. I wish more developers would recognize that and focus on one or the other so we'd all get better experiences.
  7. You must be new to the internet and MMOs.
  8. Basically it discourages people from playing the game, and that's just bad for everyone.
  9. Actually those are both thing that I would hold the player accountable for. A bad player can manage to botch both of those things as any role.
  10. Shhh, don't say that or they'll kick you and condemn you to another hour in the queue. DPS just get a bad rap because it's an easier role to fill more often than not. Being good or bad is all based on the person behind the keyboard. I've seen more than my fair share of healers who don't heal and tanks that couldn't tank their way out of a paper bag. It has nothing to do with the class and everything to do with the player.
  11. Try unequipping your saber and see how many of your abilities you can still use. It's honestly fine the way it is now.
  12. Yup, and once you get to endgame all the PvE rewards are going to be purple. I find there's very little reason to play without a subscription once you get past a certain point in the game. It just becomes too much of a hassle. Just sub if you want to play.
  13. Not really. Lack of purples is going to shut you down pretty hard in PvE if you hope to do anything beyond some lower end flashpoints.
  14. Yeah, with all the pushback would you really even get all the damage out of it? Seems to me like it might be better to just use your auto-attack depending on how much damage you're losing due to push back.
  15. Which appears to be what most of the people here are complaining about. That's less "grind" and more "playing through the same game ad nauseum". If you played through any game long enough without intermissions it becomes old and stale, so that's not really a valid criticism.
  16. That you either lack experience with the broader MMO market at large, or that you lack any modicum of patience. SWTOR is one of the least grindy MMOs I have ever played.
  17. I had a snarky response ready to go, but I just can't stay mad at that face.
  18. The fact that you consider this game grindy says it all.
  19. The leveling in this game is already really speedy, any more boosts to the exp rate would just kill the pacing.
  20. This seems like the wrong question to be asking. What every player needs to be asking themselves instead is "do I want to keep playing this game?" If the answer is "yes", then you should subscribe because without a subscription this game is hacked off at the knees.
  21. Am I really alone in thinking this is an issue that ought to be addressed?
  22. Again, this sort of thing happens just as often with full fledged subscribers as it does with F2P. Your issue isn't with who's paying for the game and who isn't, your issue is with the fact that people tend to be stupid.
