  1. I still fondly remember that weird guy in an Esseles run who absolutely lost it on seeing my fat human scoundrel. It was hilarious, especially when after his constant taunts I started to get "fabulous" instead of reporting him. Though he really HAD a cute butt (no h*m*).
  2. And nobody seems to care. NO outrage and hardly any concern. What am I missing here or is really nobody discerning left who cares, just whales that gulp down every ludicrous Dev idea so they can buy more frikken crates. I´m on the last days of my first (& likely last) 60Days GTC and really would like an insight from the vets here as posting on general seems useless over all the silly down-leveling angst.
  3. It´s an utter catastrophe and together with the main stat dumb-down it will totally destroy crafting and severely destabilize the player driven economy. I´m appalled that hardly anybody seems to notice. But instead everybody looses it over level-synching. Having to actually pay a bit attention when running around low level planets, they hardly ever visited anyway in their max-levels.
  4. Exactly. This thread is silly and the OP should feel silly... I´d call the death knell to crafting an actual punishment. Players have spent hours and lots of money gathering for and back-engineering gear that now will be handed out for free or will become completely obsolete like droid gear. Killing of companion gear will impact the game economy severely, which is ludicrous for a game dependent on player driven economy like this one.
  5. If it´s GW2 type level downsync that dynamically adjust your level to the current area inside a map (planet in TOR´s case) then I´m all for it. But if it´s the half-:csw_deathstar_un:ssd way above poster describes than I will spend my time somewhere else.
  6. Quoting for importance! FXAA is the worst AA to my eyes and many others it seems. HIGH AA is now the only viable setting in this game. Edit: Sorry about the font attack but this is a really important message and basically makes or breaks this patch.
  7. Glad to hear it´s better for you now. FXAA is simply a joke and a blight to every game I have tried it on. I wish they would stop wasting their time with this and simply make the game accept my hardware driver´s "professional" settings. But this stubborn game engine just ignores all driver settings.
  8. If the guy in the other thread is right, they introduced FXAA in this patch. Which is the worst aliasing ever and usually leaves everything a blurry mess. Medium and Highest in-game AA setting supposedly have it enabled, HIGH doesn´t. Try high AA and see if it gets better. Also the overall draw distance has been decreased too, so all farther away objects will look less defined. But as everything was okay for you without AA, I believe it´s the dreaded FXAA. It´s completely beyond me why a big software house like EA/BW has to resort to this ridiculous FXAA while for years already a fricken private tool like SweetFX can implement the far superior SMAA in any DX9 game.
  9. Having to deal with the Kindergarden called Agile/Scrum development.. Also there isn´t THE developer. You can´t dump the graphics geek in front of the server, make him do network coding and expect good times. Maybe hilarious times at best. Or expect the artist to optimize the graphics engine. But usually they have to deal with old code of x-Devs fired right after crunch time, so the quartal figures look better for the shareholders. While of course already feeling the oncoming :csw_atat:boot in his own backside.
  10. Why the HECK is the stupid bitraider not letting me in the game then? Isn´t the main reason for this software supposed to be background loading and patching? The silly trailer and other future release assets are no use to me in Alderaan. Sounds like somebody effed up bigtime again. This dman Bitraider is so going down when my sub runs out and I can spare a day for redownloading the whole frikken:jawa_mad: game again.
  11. Actually that is what I liked best about GW2. They struck a great balance between completely boringly braindead OP like it currently is here and actually fun game play. So that for example starter area mobs don´t simply fall down at a glance but still are relatively easy to beat. If BW manages the same here then I would applaud them for it.
  12. At first I thought that I saw what OP did there, this crap sounds like GW2 and would end up just as lame. Then I noticed OP actually wasn´t sarcastic and meant it seriously. I´m here because I´m fricken FED UP with GW2´s stupid Zergfests! There is only ONE class in GW2 and that is DPS! Plain and simple. The only reason it kinda works in small squads is because you have to hop around like a bunny on steroids, thus you don´t notice. Once a certain player threshold is reached it all becomes an incredibly booring DPS-Zergfest. The class system I found here is good just like it is, as far as I can tell. Maybe it needs more frequent balancing passes, but that´s pretty much every MMO out there. Probably needs another dedicated Dev.
  13. So .. this is not the right time to start buying crafting slots? Almost glad I got the sub to still experience a semblance of crafting fun before BW ´ed it. Even as a TOR noob I facepalmed when I heard they are going to kill of companion gear. Oh and may I add, it´s really not a pretty sight when a game company so haphazardly throws a MMO mainstay like crafting under the bus. Just for the sake of oh so streamlined and FUN leveling and gameplay(with cherry on top) and interesting user experience (I´m all out of marketing buzzwords..).
  14. Yeah, for the munchkins it´s totally irrelevant. For me personally it adds a modicum or reason to my altoholism. I inadvertently made my Inquisitor the mother of a Jedi Knight and a Consular(ess), by different dads no less. My Smuggler and my Sith Dreadnought. Thus turning her into a sex salve that got knocked up once too often, the force works in mysterious ways you know.. Welcome to Trailer Parks of the old Republic.
  15. Several iterations in fact. Moving from (I think) Dx8 to 9 then 10 and finally 11. Exactly what engines were/are used is their secret. Devs aren´t payed that well for "wasting time". As this game has obviously been in "cash cow mode" for quite some time, it´s safe to speculate there simply aren´t more devs available to do anything but optimize the code you have. Again, "modified" aka "this is my ****** now, there´s no other like it" aka unportable. Sorry to pop your "New Hero balloon".
  16. As good as the new Hero Engine version sounds, when Devs say "custom" (hero engine) it usually means completely reworked and pretty much unportable. I doubt they can port anything to the newer Hero engine version, so might as well use a whole new engine which basically means rewriting the game. Not gona happen. Just like Dx12. Pretty much the only MMO I ever heard of actually doing something like this is CCP´s EVE, but it took them several years of "iterating" to go from to .
  17. Ah a fellow altoholic! There is a trick to get you out leveled bound mods to your alts, it´s called legacy gear. You can put your bound mods in there and leave them in the stronghold cargo, to be picked up by the next alt. I got two armor sets for free due to having made an account ages ago, but never actually played. Not sure how to quickly get a set as a brand new character though. I´m also stumped about how to get legacy weapons, so to me those mods are truly lost for now.
  18. Ok, can somebody give me a reason for the constant story spoiler blogs? As a newcomer I´m almost afraid to open the frikken Site, only to be greeted by the newest official attempt to ruin the game for me. How is this part of the coming expansion? I just don´t get it.
  19. Indeed. I´m new and so far I have only done consular up to Aldebaran and started all others, getting them of the starter planet. But Consular is the most "Star Wars" of them all and my favorite questline closely followed by the Inquisitor. The Smuggler´s "Dude, where´s my Spaceship?" is a very close 3rd. People hate the consular quest? Well most people like lots of stupid stuff, watching reality shows or sports or getting blackout drunk. Who cares.
  20. So this is purely an "endgame" character event? I have no 50+ character, so I´m effed?
  21. The Force is with you, but you´re not a full ForumJedi yet..
  22. YES, 50cent a day is TOO MUCH! Because it means that every day I don´t play I´ve thrown away 50 cent. Go ahead, throw your 50 cent out the window and tell me how you don´t care because it´s your fricken hobby. Subscription is a dying concept, plain and simple. The real problem here is not that the general user base doesn´t get it, that´s a given for die hard subscriber dodos. Yes, I´m implying you are a dying breed. THE DEVS:hope_08: not getting it, is what´s putting the whole game at jeopardy. And clearly the TOR Devs are not getting it AT ALL, with all the seriously annoying restrictions like the plethora of character only unlocks or the ridiculous cosmetic unlocks(head slot, unify color, titles etc.). I didn´t subscribe because I was "annoyed into subscribing"! Actually all these little annoyances almost made me LEAVE the game. Damn Star Wars hype, the whole Nico & expansion hype and the really great storytelling is what kept me here and made me subscribe. TOR Devs really should take a long hard look at Guild Wars 2, to put it bluntly.
  23. Same here! Played fine all morning. Log out and come back in the evening, now I´m stuck at this silly launcher window. Trying to log in from Germany.
  24. THIS! I was severely underwhelmed when I tried one of those after subscribing. I usually take the commendations, or whatsitcalled that pays for mods with the fleet vendors.
