@OP going to make an assumption you know your class here. I personally have tanked master FPS and every single story mode operation in dps gear tank spec with a shield generator. It’s not hard and I e had zero deaths. But if you really want to know numbers. For hard mode brontes i cleared with 56.51% shield and 52.34% zero deaths clear it first time every tme

Read my post, not being in tank spec means no shield, which means not guarding. Also make taunt work the same as in over, whereas, aoe taunt is a aggro drop for dps specs, so they shouldn’t get redirection stats from using it in pvp either (currently we do) I am aware as I personally do it, an skanking without a proper shield generator is useless, that’s half the way to do it there, remove that an the problem become vastly reduced

Why not make it so dps spec can not equip a shield generator at all. An if respec with one on its immediately unequipped. Furthermore, buff tank spec endurance by 10% an lower dps spec by same value. Even to the point of remove some of the dcds from the dps specs. (For example jug dps doesn’t need reflect ward an enraged defense, drop reflect)

Stack defense an absorb. It’s currently broken. If you stack defense an shield triggers you can effectively dodge a shielded mitigation. I have 47% def 53 shield an 60 absorb without procs still manage 1mill damage an over 1mill prot every game in ranked

Rather than cut Mara dps by X amount why not remove a lot of their dcd? Mara in essence is all damage minimal defense so drop Sabre Ward modify the amount of cloak of pain mitigation a bit higher to compensate partially. Make them more suitable to their name

As interesting as this discussion is surely you all realise this is a pipe dream. If they cannot implement a viable and properly performing ranked matchmaking system (that has competitive leaderboards). Why on earth would they waste time perfecting a matchmaking system for regstars? Yes all of these ideas are interesting an well articulated BUT from a devs point of view, ranked matchmaking will come prior to regs. Otherwise they may as well delete leaderboards from this page (although with the rampant hacking in ranked they may as well do it anyway)

One thing I’ve never undestood is why not to use this with high ping. I’m in Australia with 200ms average and I consistently win ranked an place top 3 in reg stars every single game I play regardless of class. In my personal opinion I’ve gone for 705 alacrity an stacked raw power an now I average over 15 games criits between 24-33k. With a 33% chance 68% multiplier

So as far as i can see AP is burst high crit, an AP is sustained burn. So for AP you need the target to die in the first 35 seconds an in AP you need the fight to last longer than 35 secs to be useful. (coming from optimized gdc's with correct alacrity build, for purpose of this assume this is a given where mentioned). So why would it not be viable to take a AP pt and a madness Sorc into a ranked situation? I tried it last night with some mates and we both got over 2.2 mill dps in 3 rounds of corellia arena. The healer simply couldnt sustain against that level of dot. yes i felt soft being the pt but with the +45% move speed boost you can kite anyone and take the double rocket jump perk to move great distances (leap to enemy healer after kiting dps away so they cant leap back to you for a bit). Is there something im not seeing about this spec thats bad? if you skill correctly and know how to get the most of every move you'll be ok.
