  1. Sniper does a lot of damage, but I prefer my Operative over my Sniper. As static as the Sniper can be, the Operative is constantly moving. As you're a PvPer that's much more viable. ETA: You do get used to the cover part of it all, the game really rewards you for being in cover too. If you want pure DPS the Sniper is the obvious choice (at least in PvE, I don't know how well it stacks up in PvP). I just think the Operative is much more fun to play. Which is entirely subjective.
  2. There are a few occasions in the SI quest line (and some planet main story quest lines), where you can be gracious and courteous, especially to higher ranking Sith. The response back is always similar: watch out for the quiet ones! I played my SI as cocky because she felt ridiculously over-whelmed. She was trying to hide her utter inexperience and fear. I also had her be particularly blood-thirsty because as a former slave suddenly given such power, she went a little... nuts. As she progressed through the story, she became more cautious and focused. She is also one of the few character I have that displays her story title, her ambition (and survival) is derived from this under-lying fear of feeling like an impostor. Which didn't go away for her even after Act 1.
  3. I'm probably in the minority, but I like Treek. There is that one sentence though, that is three times as loud as everything else she says. That one grates even on me. If I could mute the ship droid, I'd be much happier. Utter rage inducing every time I step onto my beloved ship.
  4. Yup! All training is free. I've pre-ordered (obviously). BW really came through as far as I'm concerned.
  5. Just run DK/C and B/T Heroics with your main, it'll take about 20/40 mins and should keep you rolling for one alt. (If your main is 55 ofc)
  6. I love the conquest crafting now for this reason. As a fairly new player this is has helped me enormously in the credit department.
  7. When the conquests began, my highest level character wasn't yet 55. I wanted to contribute so I started crafting, I ended up being the second-most contributor for my guild without really trying. That's a bit broken. Having said that I can't be bothered with the crafting/gathering infinity and have pretty much stopped with the conquests; I was getting burned out. I wonder if people feel they HAVE to keep up this level of crazy so they don't let their guild down. I don't know what the solution is, but the conquest system doesn't really work very well.
  8. I agree with you. I suspect that is what he was talking about.
  9. I believe he was talking about the first or second week where you could run multiple FPs over and over again. If you used the group finder to do so, then you got something like 4000CP per FP. On a speed run through say SM Black Talon, that added up remarkably quickly. They did that patch mid-week to stop it (mostly because guilds were doing that Ilum sneaky thing). Wading into this debate, I'd like a separation of points depending on what your guild chose: So PvE guilds got more for running Ops/FP, PvP guilds got more for Warzones/GSF and Crafter/Trading guilds got more for War Supplies, etc. I don't know how that would work overall or how to balance it however.
  10. There is a level 13 Vibroknife that can drop from the boss on the Dromund Kaas Heroic 4 Friends of Old. If you want a guaranteed non-loot table adaptive vibroknife however, the first one I found was at level 23 from the relevant fleet Planetary Commendation equipment vendor. (Probably the Nar Shaddaa).
  11. Light Strength Datacron - On Balmorra, Imperial side, the quest [HEROIC 2+] The Republic's Last Gasp generally drops at least one (sometimes all three champion bosses drop one). Dark Strength Datacron - The Geonosian boss Nekra the Warlord on Tattooine drops one every time I kill him.
  12. I'm rubbish at timed jumping (I've been mocked for it by guildies in other MMOs when on the way to xp grind location ), but I love Datacron hunting! I'm terrible at it; it takes me hours (and a lot of swearing) to get them. At the easier to get Datacrons, people come and go around me as I slowly make progress. When I pick up the Datacon, it's a great sense of achievement. Then I go and kill some stuff for a while to relax.
  13. Yes, this. Sometimes there is a factionless response, but often you are asked to do something stupid (on both sides) for the faction gain. Some of the quests could do with tightening up.
  14. My Sith Warrior is still very little, so I look forward to this.
  15. This quest faction response was utterly ridiculous actually, I do agree. I didn't how the devs came about the light/dark choices.
  16. Have had the same with my Jedi Consular. Sometimes I think she is so utterly sanctimonious that I'm expecting my companions to leave me. The utter sheltered life of a Jedi in training doesn't make for good diplomacy. My Consular has no idea about personal relationships, such as parent/child, or spousal love; as that is not the Jedi way. Even friendships seem a bit odd to her. I figure all her peers hated her ... a lot.
  17. Yes there is one there, I found it after I didn't need it any more. It's near the Rakata Gear people.
  18. I did this too. I was frustratedly trying to find a mod station on Taris with no luck, so zoned to the fleet and still not finding one I ended up Googling where the damn things were. I then of course found out about the 'right click' upgrade function. I was rather sheepish. I was about to ask in General, sort of glad I didn't in the end.
  19. Yes, I love this. I've played a lot of MMOs, but I've never felt guilty about quests before. I'm not sure if it's the voice acting and the way BW pull me into a story. I've started a new character that will chose responses based on her (well my) belief in what is right, rather than what is light.
  20. This. I've read some very well written and valid feedback, which has been swamped just as much as interesting positive posts.
  21. So there you are being all evil and Sith-like when along comes a quest where the 'evil and Sith-like' answers leave you feeling suitably ... crappy. I've noticed a similar vein on my Jedi. Sometimes I eye-roll at her sanctimonious 'holier than thou' attitude when choosing the light response for factiony goodness. I do love that Bioware have implemented this in an MMO, as you cannot reload when you get a huge clanger. Pure faction-based responses are often double-edged and do not always gain the response you were after. The light side may get you the faction, but perhaps not the loyalty you were after (RP-wise). The dark side Sith can often be ridiculously childish, rather than commanding. So I ask you random gamers; what response has your character made, that made you wince, for the love of faction? (Please do use spoiler tags where needed!)
  22. Is the community forum for subscribers only?
  23. I agree OP. I love chatting about the game I'm playing on the forums and negative posts are a part of that, but the amount of forum trolling going on here makes it very hard to find threads worth reading. I'm not saying I want all the negative feedback removed, as some of it is true and needs to be said. I would just like to talk about some of the fun times I'm having in a game I'm enjoying (for the most part) and I cannot do that here.
  24. They're all Scrooge McDuck: swimming in our dollars! OP - It mostly goes back into the game at the beginning, I believe. Pays wages, keeps servers running, patches the game. There's probably some sort of development going on too; we might not see it for four months, but they're probably beavering away. (Especially as it'll have to be voiced) The first few months are rather painfully costly for an MMO.
  25. I actually played a Ville a bit ago on FB (I know, the shame!). It kept asking me for money and the cash to point ratio would leave most gamers aghast. I deleted my tentative walk into Villedom then.
