  1. Let me name one for you....Diablo 3, no PVP.
  2. Hello everyone, these are a couple PVP ideas that my guild has discussed at length and think would work great. Some of the following ideas also include PVE related content that we think would add to the general immersion experience as well. 1) Class specific dailies and weeklies: (PVP/PVE content addition) Okay, our first idea was surrounding class specific dailies. This would encompass both PVE and PVP content additions that would be completed alongside existing content. For example, a Class specific PVE daily for a smuggler could be "Smuggle hard merchandise off world and deliver to a safe planet X". We believe that missions such as these could be incorporated within the existing framework of high level areas (Black Hole, Belsavis) as an additional mission that a particular class could complete at the same time. We think having multiple PVE dailies for each class would be absolutely awesome! Rewards for class specific missions would simply be daily commendations/black hole/ or a completely new item set. Now onto Class Specific PVP dailies, these could be easily picked up at the fleet, where the existing PVP dailies exist. These dailies could revolve around a very large number of possible objectives, Class specific kill counts (IE Bounty hunter Daily would be to kill 5/10/20 of each class), Iilum objectives (IE All classes could have a specific mission objective within an area on Iilum, IE. Class X destroys walkers, Class Y picks up armaments, Class Z gets the crystals, etc. these could be expanded greatly), and additional Warzone objectives specific to class (IE do a certain amount of damge/healing/solo kills?) The PVP class specific dailies are an area where huge expansions could occur with a limited amount of work. 2) Open world PVP If the Rakghoul plague taught people anything, its that it created world PVP. It was smooth combat, where both sides fought over objectives that they felt were relevant to them. Their was no Armour progression bonuses, just vanity or aesthetic unlocks that a player was able to work towards. Ultimately, this proved to be fairly successful, and having additional large scale events like this, or more permanent events (on Iilum) would be awesome for the PVP player base. Rewards would also bring in more players, whether they be vanity/aesthetic/speeder related/titles/or even a new currency to purchase item modifications, such as high level augments/mods/enhancements. 3) Most importantly, keep it a little smaller at first. One of Iilum failing points was that it was too big, with the central area where everyone fought was too small. As well, having a couple dynamic objectives within a zone on Iilum would be pretty cool. This could include, automated turrets (dealing low damage output, but ultimately aiding those who controlled them) defensive shields, and other bonuses. The avoid the faction imbalances of population, have these capture points enable only a limited range, this way even if the imps outnumber the reps 4:1 the reps could still hold on to one or two capture points. Our guild thinks these ideas could work really well, without too much work. We hope that they can be taken into consideration and can aid in the future development of the PVP experience within SWTOR.
  3. I really like your idea about class specific dailies. This would be so fun to do, add depth to questing/pvp-pve/codex/immersion. I think it would be absolutely amazing to have class specific dailies/weeklies. Multiple ones! Hope we can have this!
  4. There is an official word already... They confirmed this at PAX East, by announcing that the whole point of saving them to your HD was to use third party programs. Don't waist dev. Time by making them re-confirm something ten times. It's called google. Do a little research.
  5. You clearly don't read patch notes. They are fixing this Thursday.
  6. And I agree with the first poster. That would be a pretty cool idea sharing the direction of classes would be pretty awesome. A negative I could see would be QQ-ers though. We saw a lot of those with the 1.2 changes.
  7. Really? Wow I had no idea. Thanks! My mistake then.
  8. I'm a shadow, I use the infiltration spec, but have dabbled in the tank spec as well. I would like to clear up some of your griefs. 1. We do not beat every class 1v1. There are good and bad players, good shadow/sin vs. a player and sure shadows/sins will win. But good vs. good it's all about who were going up against. Personally, I can kill jug/maras, but always get killed by operatives/scoundrels. Versus bounty hunters and troopers it's usually fifty fifty. Generally, if the other class has a healing ability the shadow/sin will loose. As they will just out heal our damage output untill we run out of energy. 2. Your kinda stupid if you don't commit at least two people to stealth and attack the other door in void star. Usually you need three with one running blocker and two beating up the guards. And always expect stealth classes. Not just sins/shadows. But operatives/ scoundrels as well. 3. Always expect stealth classes. Countering them is all about tactics. After our openers our dps abilities are negligible. Sins/shadows are not the only stealth class. If you spec I to it jugs/maras and the rep counter parts also have some stealth ability. 4. Each class has their own strength in huttball. Or all the matches for that matter. Your reaction to sins being overpowered though is just QQ. I can't carry the ball for ****. Unless I have a personal guard, a pocket healer and sage/sorc. Bubble to protect me from the fire. Can't run through fire by yourself if your a sin/shadow. 5. We don't have pull. Those are sorcs or sages. Or power tecs or vanguards. 6. We only have guard if we have a combat ability active. And generally only tank shadows use it. A lot of class have guard. Just don't hit the guarded player. It's basic tactics. As for our dps output. I am speced 8-31-0. For pure dps. I have full BM and 16k health. I'm probably the squishiest player in any Warzone match. Usually only get 150-190k damage. That's it. Good matches when I have a guildie healing me I can get upwards of 250k. Only ever got over 300k once. And that was because I have being guarded and pocket healed the whole match. Sins/shadows are not omnipotent. We are actually very squishy. We are a harasser class, that's about it.
  9. I see you only killed one person...that's very suspicious. If you were actually in combat healing players who were fighting you would have gotten credit for their kills. So I'm thinking you just sat off to a side, and healed buddy who intentionally sacrificed health.
  10. Get the lower video card and use the money savings to invest in a cheap sound card. Helps the processor as it won't have to focus on processing sounds and reduces bottlenecking for your system
  11. The couple tickets that I have submitted were always quickly and politely dealt with. They even gave me an update on my problem and how it was being resolved. Best customer service I have ever had. Beats most "real life" customer service experiences as well.
  12. decided to snoop around on youtube before I went to all the trouble, There is already a plethora of videos with very good frame rates etc. on the Civil war.
  13. hook me up with how to do it and i'll wet your whistle n/p
  14. Seriously? What do you want? A movie of me playing the game for hours? My address? Honestly? I'm trying to help people by passing on my knowledge and whats working for me.
  15. No big problems here and no frame rate issues at all ( even iilum). I have had the occasional bug crop up, maybe once every few hours? I find that NVIDIA graphics cards work the best in terms of limiting bugs and higher and better performances. Also keeping drivers updated, is important. As well frame rate issues aren't just down to your video card+your proccessor. Their are a lot of contributing factors that can effect it. MMO's especially suffer from rig bottlenecking due to sound processing. If you don't have a separate system to process the sound ( IE a sound card) then the task falls to your processor, slowing it dramatically. My system is as follows: NVIDIA 560 GTX Ti 8GB Ram Intel 2600k unlocked @3.6 GHZ A cheap *** $30 ASUS sound card I have had a couple bug problems, as I said. But no frame rate issues. In the beta I was using the same setup except I had a 260 GTX getting 20-40 fps. I found that disgustingly horrible so I upgrade to my 560 and frame rates went up to50-70 fps max settings. Having AA on did nothing to my frame rates. Hope this helps anyone who is having bug problems. I truly sympathize with everyone who experiences them. Many a game has been ruined by bugs. (least I mention age of Conan!!!!!---SWTOR in its first beta test was less buggy!) Hopefully the bugs are worked out by bioware to those of you who are having major issues.
