  1. I currently have my own guild but it was always just my buddy from FFXI and myself. I have a 60 Marauder and 60 PT Tank (Both with several 192's and the rest 186's.. all augmented). I am familiar with PVE and FP but not so much with OPS. I am interested in joining a guild that actually does stuff and has ppl in it. I am an old man (40) and a sub. I am not interested in any kind of drama and will assist in any way possible. Thanks
  2. I gotta be honest on this 1: Nope. I have played a lot of MMO's and Final Fantasy 11 was my favorite. The story lines there were amazing and the game was not a WoW clone like many others. The graphics were decent and the community very strong. This game suffers from lack of content and how easy it is to gain things. There are no real challenges for that 1 item that is super rare. I'll give you an example of what I mean. In FFXI (Final Fantasy 11), you could build a relic weapon. It took me 7 years to finish my Aegis (shield). Looking at it now, yes it was a huge grind, but it never felt like it because building it was a team effort and everyone working on a relic benefited from teaming up. You had to do something called Dynamis, which at the time, had a time limit to enter and be in it. Was there a reason to have the Aegis, hell yeah! It was an amazing shield that had unique stats and having it set you apart from other Paladins.. a real sense of pride! In SWTOR there really isn't that aspect of the game. If a really cool looking piece of armor is available in the GTN, like Tulak Hord's head piece, then you can just buy it or get it from cartel crates. Its nice, but not rewarding... not to mention that once you have enough ultimate comms, you can have it mod'd and then meh! you're pretty much done. I often find myself logging in to simply wonder around until I decide to do something. Dailies get old fast and que'ing is only cool but so many times. If you are sub, you can 500'd your carfts in no time.. no challenge there.. bottom line is, I feel as this is one of those MMO's that were meant to be an offline rpg and someone said "hey.. let's make it into an MMO!" I feel as if that is why they went F2P..
  3. In my opinion, what hurts this game the most is the fact that guilds are being formed left and right and no one really plays in those guilds. For example, in BC, we have 3-5 guilds recruiting all the time. When you join them, most of them simply want the numbers but no one is really active. That leads to ppl not caring to play as the community aspect dies out. There are way too many ppl out there and not enough team-based content to keep guilds active. The fact that you can basically run all dailies/weeklies solo.. even most fp's.. hurts the community. When I played Final Fantasy 11, even tho at the time the grinding was awful, the community was strong and ppl found it hard to leave the game. You made friends that years later, after leaving the game, you remember with a smile on your face. In SWTOR, even tho I think it is a good game, it lacks the strong community side of an mmo. WoW was very similar in that you could go from level 1 to the very last level all by yourself with no issues. MMO's need to have a rewarding social aspect to survive. If you think about it, most ppl that play MMO's have only the game as their main source of socializing. If that aspect of the game is weak, ppl will look for other ways of filling that void... just my opinion.
  4. I did the same.. it was the source of some much needed laughter for my friend. But to me was not knowing once you buy something that is from the CM you can reclaim it as many times as you want. I kept buying new 1's for companions or other things.
  5. Guys, This may have already been posted somewhere but I was not able to find it.. I play a Sith Mara and I have full 186 augmented gear as well as 2 pieces of 192's (aug'd as well with 186's). I wanted to know what kind of damage, range -wise, would be "proper" for my guy. I have seen 12k hits and average of 8k on main attacks. I ask because, unlike FFXI, I cannot see the damage others are doing. I am unaware of a setting that would allow me to compare my damage to other Mara's I play with. I just want to be efficient with my class, even tho I understand it may not be as powerful as other dps classes... but it is what it is and I wont stop playing Mara just cuz (lol)!. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. Twin Ion Engine I believe is for TIE fighter...
  7. Which translates to the Sith. It is their way for the student to kill the master.. and the only real reason why the Empire fails is because everyone is trying to kill each other..
  8. I actually came up with that when trying to explain how power is balanced in the SW universe to a friend. He wanted to know why I have such a fascination with Darth Vader and the Empire. I told him the Republic is always struggling with something and "weak" in many aspects. I liked it so much, I've made it my sig and currently used in the guild lol! Thanks for posting!
  9. Hello all, I wanted to post this since we all have our takes on what is good and what isn't. I spent many years playing Final Fantasy 11 mainly for the great story lines Square Enix seems to always put together. After they decided that building a relic weapon was no longer worth doing, and given the fact that I was on my 7th year of building my relic shield (I finally finished it that year), I decided to try SWTOR. I had tried KOTOR and other SW games and loved them all, so playing SWTOR was an easy decision for me. I initially started, like most people do, with a force-wielding type class. In my case, Sith Warrior. We all had the lightsaber duels in our heads, and some of us with cousins etc while growing up. How many times did we do the "pshunnnn" sound of a light saber turning on?!! Although my years as a Paladin in FFXI came to an end, one always has that "I will go back at one point or another" mentality when it comes to "leaving" an MMO. That was the main reason I wanted to give SWTOR a real shot. I wanted to experience the lore of the SW universe as told by the developers. Today, after 2 years playing this game, I find myself still interested in the game's story lines for classes, side quests and expansions. A testament of good writing and programming. Everyone has an opinion, we all differ or agree, but as far as I am concerned, from the original content to this last expansion, SWTOR is a solid choice for anyone trying out a new MMO or looking for a new home to play. Job well done EA, BioWare and Lucasart! ~Cheers!
  10. Hello all, <PseudoWorld Trekkers> is a very small guild looking for just a few people to play at our own pace. We are older players that basically just play for fun, making credits, doing missions and are in no rush to finish all content. We need some people to do flash points and other things with. We are currently just two guys that came from Final Fantasy XI and have stayed here. We have basically no experience in doing raids/ops. What we would like to do is grow together as a group, learning the game and enjoying it as a group. We are not seeking individuals that know everything about the game.. just people that are willing to just have fun with what we accomplish together. We don't have a guild ship or guild stronghold etc... Just want to get there as a group. We use Skype and play mostly evenings. If this is something that sounds like you would want to be a part of, then by all means send me a whisp in game or reply here. We are Empire currently and would not mind creating a Republic branch of the guild. Thanks
  11. Hello all, I am currently looking to join a guild that would take players in need of learning the ropes for raids and events, and that run such on EST. I am a level 60 Sith Warrior and have 186's for all my gear. I am not very experienced in raids or ops as I have just basically stuck to the story line content as well as crafting. Thanks
