  1. Will I miss out on anything if I only run with Kira as my active companion? I want to get her to 10000 affection as quickly as possible. I know there's advantages to running with a healer companion, but I figure I can run with him after I max out Kira. I just don't want to find out later that T7 has some kind of totally awesome quest to give out but I missed my chance.
  2. Once you finish your calss quste line on a world, as you're heading to the spaceport, you'll see a quest giver in the spaceport. He gives you the first quest in that world's Bonus Quest series.
  3. I don't find this to be true at all. Just remember that the green mods that a world's Mods vendor sells are the appropriate mods for that world, while the blue mods that the Commendation Mods vendor sells are the appropriate mods for the next world. I'm a Jedi and I have 5 orange armor pieces, plus my orange lightsaber. I've got my favorite companion Kira kitted out with an orange double blade and the 5 piece orange Slave Girl outfit (yeah, I know, I'm a pervo). Whenever I land on a new world I find the mods vendor and kit out Kira with fresh green Armorings & Hilt. By the time I've finished my class quest, all the side quests I can find, the Bonus Series and the Heroic quests then I find I have no problems buying myself new blue Armorings, Mods, Enhancements and a Hilt. Then it's on to the next world. By keeping up this pattern I find that Kirs's gear is always at least as good as the Kira-specific quest rewards, and my gear is always better than the quest rewards. Since I don't need the quest rewards then I just take the offered Commendation unless the quest reward is actually a blue Mod, Enhancement, Armoring or Hilt (which it often is). And since I don't waste money in the GTM trying to buy mods or crafting mats to craft mods, then I can trippel gather, sell everything I find, and I always have plenty of credits to buy Kira her new green mods on the next world. Seriously, guys, the game's easy if you know how to play.
  4. Chest & legs can be had just about anywhere. Esseles Flashpoint, Specialty Goods vendors on just about any world. I got my gloves from the Specialty Goods vendor on Taris, and my head band from the Specialty Goods vendot on Nar Shaada. Got my boots from the Light Side vendor in Fleet. Requiored Light II. No idea where to get orange belts, bracers, or anything else. Oh, my female republic Sage was rickin' the Coruscant formalwear, but it is by far the Ugliest prom dress you'll ever see. Ditched it and got the Salve Girl outfit.
  5. And I think I got my boots from the light side vendor. Requiored Light II I think. Chest & legs can be had anywhere. I forget where I got my orange gloves.
  6. You are correct. For sale for credits rather than Commendations, IIRC.
  7. If you know the Empire force users, then you know the Republic force users. The classes are mirrors: Guardian = Juggernaught Sentinal = Maurauder Sage = Sorcerer Shadow = Assasin My only real recomendation is to roll a male Jedi Knight and play at least until the end of Act 1. Oh, and get to Social 2 as quick as you can, so when you get to Nar Shaada you can buy your companion a Slave Girl outfit. The other Republic classes... don't use lightsabers. So I ignore them.
  8. I think most of your DEV assumptions are spot on. It is highly likely that a player will either have a healer compantion, or be a healer/dps and have a tank companion, or be a tank with a dps companion. It is very easy to run 3-4 levels above your content just by regularly doing Bonus Series quests, Heroic quests, Flashpoints, Space Missions and the occational Warzone. It is very easy to kit out yourself and you companion in all blue gear, or orange gear with all blue mods. It is very easy to significantly up your HPs & Force Power/Tech Power by regularly collecting Datacrons. I am a very casual player, but on every planet I do my Bonus Series quests, Heroic quests, Flashpoints, and I collect every Datacron. I run about 3 levels above my content, and both my toon and my toon's companion are decked out in blue gear & orange gear with blue mods. And I cake walk through my class quest Bosses. Thank god I'm a JK, because if I were playing a Trooper or a Bounty Hunter then this game would be boring easy. A Trooper or Bounty Hunter who didn't do all that, and had to face their class quest Bosses at even level while wearing greens, would have a chalanging fight on their hands. And a JK would die. Over and over. And then QQ on the forums that the game is too hard. And that is, in fact, what's happening.
  9. I'd say avoid the Shadow since the class quest storyline will be 100% exactly the same as your Sage. If you want "challanging" then I'd say a Jedi Sentinal/Sith Marauder. Managing all the different abilities & cool downs would drive me crazy. Loving my Defense Gaurdian, though.
  10. Hey bro! TOR isn't like WoW where you can buy decent, level specific gear from vendors in major cities & quest hubs. At least, not for regular cash. Don't worry, though. This is all intentional, and the game designers take this into account. Just run your quests, and use quest rewards & drops to upgrade your gear. As you play, some of those green drops will be called "Commendations" like "Tython Comendation" or "Coruscant Commendation." You also often have the option of taking a Commendation as a quest reward rather than the regular green item. You spend the Commendations in the marketplace on that world, or at the Fleet, after you have finished all the quests on that world. So the Commendation vendors on Coruscant actually are selling the gear that you will need when you go to Taris. So save up all your Commendations and only spend them after you're done on that world. Check your inventory on the "Currancy" tab. If you have 8 Tython Commendations then you can get cool Blue chest piece. Here's a hint - Don't ever buy an orange lightsaber. Just buy upgrades for the lightsaber you already have. And never rip out mods and try to sell them for cash. It cost credits to remove a mod, the mod is bound to you when you remove it so you can't sell in in the Trade Network, and vendors will pay you way less for the mod than it cost to remove. As you play you'll have the change to get other orange pieces for both you and your favorite Companion. Always keep a companion active while you quest. If you're a JK then your first Companion is the little driod, T7. He can tank and you can DPS until you get Kira. Then you can Tank, and Kira can be your DPS. Also, be sure to look over your quest rewards carefully - Some of the items they offer are specifically for your active companion. Anyway, just be sure to upgrade your & your companion's orange items with fresh mods before you leave each world, and just rely on quest rewards & drops for everything else.
  11. it says "gosh darn" but that's not what I typed.
  12. The only class that can romance two companions at the same time, that I am aware of, is male Sith Warrior. Yes, the girls do gang up on you at one point and demand that you pick one. And you get the option of telling them that you are a goddamn Sith, and you will have them both, and they had just better learn to live with it. Straight up pimpin'
  13. Heavy armor with Strength & Endurance. For your orange armor & lightsaber mods, go with Guardian pieces.
  14. I think it would be a lot more bother than it's worth. Rather than all that, try this: Go back two worlds. If you're on Alderaan, then that would be Nar Shaada. Do the Bonus Quest series for Nar Shaada. While you're doing that be sure you pick up every side quest you can and do those. Should be easy as you'll well outlevel the content. Then get some groups together and do all the Heroic quests on Nar Shaada. Again, you'll outlevel the content so it sould be easy cake for you. Plus you'll be helping a player a little lower level than you. Add them to your Friends list. You can help each other again later on. Or maybe do them with a guild mate. You are in a leveling guild, right? Next hit the Flashpoint Nar Shaada offers you. I think it's Mandalorian Raiders, but I'm probably wrong. Anyway, your Guild mates and those players you met doing Heroic missions should help. Oh, and make sure you hunt down all the Datacrons on Nar Shaada. Seriously, Datacrons vs no Datacrons makes a real, noticable differance in your HPs and your Forcepower. Then queue up for a Warzone. A quick game of Huttball is always good for a few thousand XP. Then go to your ship and run a couple Space missions. No need to get crazy. One or two quick missions, a few thousand quick XP. Once all that's done, go to Tatooine and do the same thing. Then go to Alderaan and do it all there. Seriously, if you do this then you'll always be 3-4 levels above the Bosses you have to fight, and you & your companion will always have great gear and mods. I'm also a Jedi Guardian and I just finished the fight with Darth Angral. Other players on this forum talk about how hard that fight was, and how Angral killed them 10 times or more. For Kira & I, with our extra levels and kick-*** gear, it was a cake walk. We went back to my ship and celebrated with some sweet, sweet, forbidden Jedi lovin'. Honestly, this game is content rich. If you take the time to enjoy everything the game has t ooffer while leveling, then you get rewarded with leveling being that much more enjoyable and less frustrating.
  15. Ok, gonna try to iron out the confusion. As a Sage, your primary stat is Willpower. Willpower increases your total Force Power, and it increases your crit chance in melee, damage spells and healing. Anything that gives you more Willpower will help out everything you do as a Sage. The Hilts, Crystals, Armorings, Mods, Enhancements and Augements that go in your lightsaber and orange armor pieces should all give more Willpower, and that all works together to help you. Sometimes you'll get a Crystal that gives, say, +Crit. That +Crit goes toward everything, damage spells and healing, as well as melee. Get a full set of orange armor, save your Commendations, and keep your mods current. Are preferablly blue.
  16. One minute in the life of a Sage: Send the lizard to do my fighting for me. Stupid lizard. Guess I'll shield him. Oh, was than an elite I aggro'ed? Better DOT him. And here come all that Elite's little friends. I'll just fire off my AOEs. OK, adds are all dead. How's my lizard doin'? Still alive. Better fire off my instant attacks at that Elite. And it's dead. Time to channel heal the Lizard back to full and hit the next MOB. Playing a Sage is lolEZmode. LOVE my Sage.
  17. I recently fought her "brother" and had a bunch of conversations with her. Flirted shamelessly. But that was several levels ago. I'm now level 32 and running around Alderan. I know the end of chapter 1 is coming soon. What I want to know is when can I expect my next series of conversation with Kira?
  18. Dr. Slate, I love your sig. Funnest line in television history.
  19. YES!!! Slave Girl outfit for Kira, and I'm gonnna get me some sweet, sweet, forbidden Jedi lovin'.
  20. I have a male Jedi. If I reach Social II, can I buy the Slave Girl outfit for my Companion?
  21. All my toons are human force users, and they're all named Dax. Republic Daxjedi Daxcaster Daxshadow Empire Daxsith Daxlightning My Legacy name will be Dax. "Hi, my name's Dax. Daxjedi Dax, of the Dax Legacy..."
  22. Go to Fleet. Find your Trainer there. Select your Advanced Class.
  23. Meh. Once I got Kira I stopped using anyone else. I'm a Guardian, and I just tank while she spanks. Oddly, once I unlocked the romance option with her, I discovered that during sweet, sweet, forbidden Jedi loving it's her that likes to be spanked. "Oh, that's right. You're a naughty little Sith, aren't you....?"
