  1. It's for this reason that I hope the rumored split to two crystals...one for color only and one for stats only...is true...
  2. Not quite....I got it on my bounty hunter...doesn't really show the colors on his gun Was wondering what it would look like if I mailed it to one of my sith or jedi toons....
  3. I picked up a Cyan-Blue crystal....anyone have an image of what that looks like in a lightsaber?
  4. Except, I might want to buy it with my subbed player to send to a second F2P account that I have....
  5. Part of me is sad I didn't win it..... Part of me is also relieved...not sure where I would have put it
  6. That's not a crafted item...it's likely a quest reward or loot drop, and most of those are not able to be RE'd to get a schematic from them....
  7. Chest - Black Talon Hunter's Body Armor [black Talon Flashpoint - Can't recall which boss drops it] Legs - Prototype Mabari Laminated Legguards Boots - Mercenary's Boots Hands - Tempered Laminoid Gauntlets He's only level 20, so I'm not sure knowing the legs, boots, and hands helps much...they're Blue and Green items. I haven't found permanent Custom items to replace them with yet, but I'll be keeping my eyes open for the orange items that look like them...
  8. Looks like they condensed it into a single sticky with the list of important posts....
  9. There's a Dev post (here) that seems to say it's a bug that they're working on fixing....
  10. Go back and read the first post on the first page of this thread. The answers you seek are there. Basically, it depends on if the item follows the linear or prefix path (based on item type....Armor vs weapon vs implant, etc). If it follows the prefix path, it will have a new prefix and new stat and there are generally 5 (except for RE from Redoubt) possible "Better Purples" per purple item....
  11. Overall, I like the new design, except for one thing...it's extremely difficult to get to my list of Forum Subscriptions....I need to log in with my SKey every single time....
  12. You have to first press the "Reverse Engineer" button...once you do that and hover your mouse over the item it will show you the % chance to RE the item (If you can RE it at all).
  13. Oh! I really like the "Unify to chest piece" option. Here's my Bounty Hunter with all gear unified to his Black Talon chest piece. http://i44.tinypic.com/era34g.jpg
  14. Hmmm...you may be right...I don't have any characters that are high enough level on either Live or PTS (I'm a recovering Altaholic )...but I did see this: And that leads me to believe that the mods will be updated to include the set bonus if they haven't been removed from the set piece already....
  15. Sorry...I copied and pasted that from another post of mine and figured the image might be a bit hard to understand unless I included part 1 and 3 just in case
  16. I don't think that's true....This item from the PTS Patch Notes seems to contradict that completely: Players can now remove Armoring modifications from items with set bonuses and transfer those set bonuses to Custom (orange) items. These modifications can only be transferred to an item that is equipped in the same slot. Full Notes: http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=3463544&postcount=6
  17. 1) There's nothing available above Tier 2 for RE. When you hover over a Tier 2 item with your RE tool, it does NOT say "Research Available" on the tooltip. 2) REing the Redoubt line only has 4 Tier 2 children. If you discover all four and hover over a Redoubt item with the RE tool, it does NOT say "Research Available" on the tooltip. 3) The success rate for finding a new pattern is quite a bit higher then it was. I was only testing with my level 10 character, but I was learning a new Tier 2 pattern every 2 to 4 attempts. Here's a picture that displays what I'm talking about: http://i40.tinypic.com/x1amj9.gif You'll note that the top left tooltip shows "Research Available" for the Critical Savant Sash...I don't currently have any Tier 2 children of that. That message is missing on the Redoubt Savant Sash (As you can see, I've got all four of the currently known children) and it's also missing on my Anti-Armor Savant Sash.
  18. I'm not sure on this one...I don't think we've had anyone come in and say they've had any proven success when trying to do this, so it may not be possible... Sorry for the confusion on that, my picture is from the Test server and relates to the changes that are coming in Patch 1.2 which should hit the Live servers some time near the end of April (I think)
  19. Well...one thing that will very likely save that (at least for the Synthweavers and Armormechs) is that I can take any of the current armor pieces that have mods in them and reverse engineer them into an orange schematic. From there, I make it enough to get a critical success and I've got a fully modifiable orange piece of armor with an augment slot. I'll also be making augments that I've REd up to the max level. Now my customers can buy the gear they want because it looks good and it has an augment slot....and they can pull the mods out of the end-game gear and install it in the stuff I've sold to them. The gear set bonuses come along with the mods they extracted and viola! they've got end-game gear that looks exactly the way they want and I've got income.
  20. A couple of quick notes from Patch 1.2 1) There's nothing available above Tier 2 for RE. I'll keep an eye out and let you all know if I see any changes up until 1.2 drops to live.
  21. Brilliant! +1 to you good sir
  22. Looks like Shotguns and Vibroknifes will be fixed in Patch 1.2 so that they can be RE'd properly... http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3370406#edit3370406
  23. I wouldn't say this is entirely true. I have Artifice on one of my alts that's only level 18. I've been making and REing the hilts that I can currently make until I get the "Advanced" version of each. I sell those Advanced hilts (the ones for levels 11 thru 19) on the GTN for 5-8k each. That may not seem like much for a level 50 character, but I've found it more then pays for things at my level. I've had an average of 40k in the bank all the way from level 11 up to 18 even after buying whatever I want/need freely...during that time my friends were all stuck at 2 or 3k.
  24. The recipes found on most external sites are incomplete, to say the least. They build those by datamining the client. If you look through this thread, you'll see several screen shots of items that have been upgraded. In every case, the tool tip in-game shows the prefix we're talking about in this thread.
