  1. Can someone please explain how psychic projection double dips? Ive read it on alot of forum threads but i dont understand the mechanics of how it works. Thanks.
  2. I was definitely on the OMG NERF -> REROLL bandwagon for a while when i first saw the changes, but i still think the hybrid build is viable in a PvP setting even without TK, you just have to be more creative... Yes its going to be harder to throw up the big numbers but it doesnt mean we're not useful. Here is what i've been thinking for my PvP build, please tell me what you think/any suggestions: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600ZfzMRbMbZcrcRsMkR.1 What you gain out of this hybrid: -Force wake offering a 5 second immob with 2 seconds being damagable -reinforced bubble with explosion from kinetic collapse and telekinetic defence -10 second stun cooldown reduction with pinning resolve -2 second stun after CC break/insta cast with containment -faster ticking throw with psychic projection You also gain alot of the strengths of the balance tree. This seems like a beast of a build for hutball and good support in most other pvp settings.
  3. Would you mind posting a link with your current build as well? Im curious
  4. @goldenarmz: that would be awesome i'd really appreciate it!
  5. @goldenarmz: Are you currently playing a solo balance spec? I genuinely am curious and would like to hear "win" stories from people who are playing solo specs to make me feel better about this patch. I leveled in standard balance and really liked it but switched once hit level 50.
  6. You obviously didnt read the post then. the pebble throw nerf isnt my issue at all, i almost agree with the nerf. My issue is the lack-lusture of solo tele and balance builds.
  7. Hello fellow ToR players. I would like to start this post off by saying that SWTOR is my first MMO, and i have very little knowledge of the mechanics of WOW or any previous MMO's. I am a relatively new level 50 sage DPS class, currently rocking a hybrid tele/balance build like so many of you out there. I would like to start by discuss some of the heated topics regarding the 1.2 patch. Balance Big nerfs coming up to bonus damage to TK throw. OK. I get it. Spamming pebble throw/purple lightning did tons of damage w/ current skill tree options, the slow is infuriating for other classes and everyone cried about it, so their idea is to reduce the solo damage buffs from empowered throw and critical kinesis and round out the damage bonuses to encourage a more well rounded rotation. This i can deal with. Here comes the downfall of balance. Dots in this game just aren't that good. 18 second tick time (make that 24 if you decide to pump into disturb mind) to do its full damage? I could knit a quilt by the time the entire damage hits through for that 1 dot and its not that impressive for damage anyway. No problem for other players to get heals and/or kill you before your dots ever kill them. Mind crush is a bit better but requires PoM to disregard channel time (which is sort of the point of balance). PERSONALLY i think if they were going to nerf the hybrid, they should have at least buffed Sever force, eg. 4 second immob with better damage than weaken mind for god sakes, its the top tier ability. Solo balance is in my opinion much more viable/more fun than the tele in the PVP setting as its more mobile but just doesn't pack enough punch i feel a light armor wearing DPS should do. Telekinetics I have never liked this skill tree solo. Almost inviable PvP as you are a sitting duck wearing light armor pew pewing people. Good luck with that. Not much else to say other than unless you intend on PvEing and doing relatively similar damage as the balance with less mobility. This skill tree has alot of fun options for PvP (kinetic collapse, force wave, blackout, telekinetic defence, psychic project (which will feel the TK throw nerf hard), but just isn't really worth the points unless you go hybrid, and even then its not really worth it without the insta force-wave PoM combo. I'm not saying the class didn't need a nerf, god knows everyone whines enough about sages being OP but if you're going to take something away, at least give something to round it out and not have everyone reroll/buy diablo 3 and say peace out. This brings me to my final point that i would like discussed/answered by the general public: My MAIN question is with regards to our spec using light armor: Why would i chose to roll a class with light armor if other classes wearing heavy or medium can heal/dps just as good as i can? I understand the class has a lot of utility in it's abilities (rescue, battle revive, cc, etc) but so do troopers, and they get the benefit of heavy. Obviously BW has no interest in adopting the glass cannon mentality. And with the upcoming 1.2 mega nerf i'm left staring at the skill trees scratching my head. Let me know what you guys think, and please guys keep the post friendly. No point in rage trolling or being disrespectful. Thanks!
