  1. 1, I've used Mox and recently started using Parsec, I don't find either even remotely horrible, they're pretty easy to install, use and provide decent realtime info. 2. IF there was an in game implementation, as much as you say people can choose, you know that use will become obligatory. Some people find DPS metering in raids intrusive and to encourage the wrong type of behaviour chasing numbers, it's the wrong way to go. Parsing in guild raids is a matter of guild management, in PuG raids it's far too easy to use it as an excuse to criticise or boot someone seen to be under performing. I tend to parse at the top of my Guild raid groups so my objections aren't based on poor parse results.
  2. I can cope with Treek looking absurd and fluffy, but what I can't get past is the constant stream of burbled nonsense. Please issue a gag or the option to have her vocal chords removed, she can always pass me a post-it with whatever she wants to say.
  3. What a load of total nonsense! Can I have your stuff?
  4. I have quite a large amount of credits, 20x + more than most of the players I know, all made from crafting, yet I've never bought a single Cartel Coin, it's clear than you have no idea what Pay To Win (P2W) means. Pay To Win is where you spend RL cash and gain competitive gameplay advantages over other players who don't spend any or the same amount as you. As it is with credits made from selling Cartel Purchased items you can't buy the best PvE gear or the best PvP gear, so you have no advantage over someone with a small credit balance. While the developers of this game have veered close to P2W at times with some of the set gears for levelling, people level so fast it's irrelevant and certainly never been in danger at the end game where it can "matter". The items from the Cartel Market are purely cosmetic (a promise which I didn't expect the Devs to stick to, but they have) they make no material difference to the gameplay of subscribers at all. True F2P players can obtain various items via authorisations from the Cartel, but that doesn't give them any advantage over a subscriber.
  5. I was pretty keen to get one of these mounts when I heard they were coming, now having seen several on the fleet I have no desire to have one. They look fairly silly with a body type 2 on them, the riders feet almost drag on the ground, I can only imagine how absurd they look with a body type 3 or 4.
  6. That does look entirely orange to me too. The black core red crystals from the old Rakata gear and the red crystals obtained levelling were a deep red, so it's definitely possible in the game.
  7. Strongly against it. The tauntaun mount was fun to obtain, accessible and has several alternative routes, it's a rare example of how to make a grind acceptable with an entertaining reward. Cartel purchases carry no fun factor and the gambling aspects of packs are nauseating.
  8. No thanks, I've had far too many groups with utterly clueless players (subbed and F2P) who have no idea how to play their class, break CC's like mad or roll need on every single drop, votekick is a vital tool to protect the rest of us from idiocy and greed. I feel no obligation to carry a poorly geared person if it's clear they don't make up for it with good play.
  9. It might be worth uninstalling the game completely and downloading a fresh installation. I realise that will take quite a while depending on your connection speed, but from the sounds of it you're almost at the point where it's unplayable so it's worth a try.
  10. That was impressively awful stuff, it had some stiff competition from other candidates, but I agree it was head and shoulders the nastiest. Agent and Trooper stuff on the other hand looked rather good and the Smuggler hat was epic apart from the damn silly side of the face bits.
  11. For day to day use the simple answer is no. Arguably Cybertech grenades have some utility, but not much unless you're a PvP player. Synthweaving, Armourmech, Armstech and Artifice are functionally useless especially on a char you intend to play heavily doubly so if you raid. They have no unique selling point meaning they're worth having on anything but crafting mule chars.
  12. Since you purchased the games via Steam and they have their own forums including support and support staff, maybe you should consider asking there. SWTOR is not KOTOR no matter how hard some people wish it to be.
  13. Pretty harsh that wording.... To be fair the O/P has a point, TfB rehashed is a new challenge yes, but it's already very stale for a lot of raiders. It's not new content, just re-tuned old content that many of us have done to death. S&V wasn't spectacularly tricky, but it was fun and best of all it was new with a different environment and creatures.
  14. It's not "needed" by any definition of the word, it's what you would like to see.
  15. I'd expect it to be nothing, new content has been promised on a 6-8 week cycle. Please don't encourage them to try to charge for new stuff which we should get as part of our subscription.
  16. I've done Makeb twice on Rep side and 4 times on Imp, I don't agree with your assessment at all. My chars were in anything from Dreadguard Best in Slot to mixtures of Rakata/Columi and I did the majority of the quests solo, pickup groups for the Heroics. All of the characters I ran through hit 55 before the end, most a fair bit before and apart from the odd quest here and there I found the whole planet no more challenging than any other one. I don't think it's overtuned or spectacularly tricky.
  17. I never level my chars with healer companions, they're a bad choice except for the odd fight or in small groups when there's no healer player.
  18. Except the Russians didn't use a pencil, loose graphite in a spaceship is a BAD thing. I'd imagine that the game developers know how easy or difficult it is to manipulate the environment and sitting animation, I guess it's regarded as excessively difficult for the benefits.
  19. It has a value, there's a cost in Cartel Coins to purchase a name change and the mechanics to do it, those Cartel Coins have a direct exchange rate/cost so value is established. It's entirely possible to sell virtual items, just take something like the electronic delivery of a film rental, that's nothing more than streamed data. As for the contracted to receive, they advertised it as part of the RoTHC benefits and incidentally as a subscriber benefit (1 per month) back in November. There are threads in customer support and this section where they have acknowledged that the offer was made on both occasions.
  20. It would have no merit in the eyes of the BW/EA money making people though. They want the income from the Cartel Coin sales.
  21. Well to be fair that should be Welcome to Sharp/Dodgy sales tactics 101. Here in the Uk, false advertising (offering something you can't/won't deliver promptly and as advertised) is actually illegal.
  22. Having thought about it I'm fine with AC switching with 1 proviso :- AC reset also resets level to 10.
  23. No doubt when they've maximised their income from people who really can't wait to change so cough up the Cartel Coins. Free name changes (monthly) and one off have been advertised on 2 separate occasions and despite there being a name change mechanic they still haven't delivered, at best it's false advertising.
  24. Very true, plus it adds to the quantity of content in the game which justifies calling NiM TfB "new" (ok new ish).
  25. Sorry, I disagree, (I'll use Imperial classes to illustrate, but their Republic mirrors are the same) my Bounty Hunter Mercenary is largely different from my Bounty Hunter Powertech, their gameplay is poles apart, Operative vastly different from Sniper, Assassin bears absolutely no resemblance to Sorcerer, it's really only the Warrior advanced classes that are fairly similar in that they're both melee range, but again they're pretty dissimilar and to cap it off one is Heavy and one Medium armoured so not at all the same. On each faction there are effectively 8 different classes which simply share 4 parent class storylines, trying to make out there are only 4 actual classes per faction is quite absurd. Choice of Advanced class is very clearly permanent just going off the text on the quest even if you ignore the gross gameplay differences.
