I thought the point of coming up with a unique character in the beg of the game was to be...UNIQUE. It's called personalization right? It inspires us to take part in the game more? Right?I have been trying to look unique (while renaming strong) since level 40, and I feel like I always look ridiculous, or exactly the same as everyone else....I keep trying.... but before I begin. Does BW have an obsession with us looking the same? I would have rather had a pre-made character than get my hopes up for this long... Now I'm Lv50 and extremely disappointed. I'm pretty much forced into getting Recruit gear in which I have 3 choices to choose from. The gear pretty much looks the same except for some color dabs. ON TO THE NEXT ONE... Than there is Battlemaster gear...than Warhero gear...all looks the same except for some color dabs. ROUND AND ROUND.... When I go into Warzones I look exactly the same as everyone else. There is almost always 3+ other people that have every single thing on I have. STARTING OVER Than it get's worst. So I figured...I can mod my gear and switch it with some, let's say, Smuggler gear.....Bzzzz. Wrong! Than I lose special characteristics that come with my gear. Am I going to do that when I'm already getting pummled in Lv50 Warzones? No! So back to square one. ONE LAST ATTEMPT Than I think....Oh well maybe when I get to COLUMI or RAKATA gear. Bzzzz! Wrong again. I have to buy a belt or Battlemaster piece first that goes with that gear...now if I'm already spending 200,000 on mods to look unique (well I can only do this with one or two items or I''ll lose those "special characteristics" 2/4 pieces) than I'm pretty much going to go with what I already have...hence stuck again. PLUS I DON'T WANT TO LOOK LIKE A BAD STAR TREK CHARACTER. This previous one might be debatable...I mean if you have an extra 2400 commendation laying around but...THAN IT GETS WORST!....SOCIAL GEAR. Now BW is shoving this "look like everyone else" gear down my throat even more! So what's my point? In the beg of the game, I chose to look UNIQUE. That's what. And it motivates me and is fun when I can be unique to others, and take pride in my looks. I guess I'm just the kind of person who doesn't want to look like everyone else who shops at Old Navy, or Tommy Hilfiger....lol. BW please let me be unique! I know about the new aug slot ability. That means nothing. It's just an aug. But at least it's something. It will help...2% of the time just like the percentage the aug will give me.

I 'm a shadow tank and I do amazing in warzones. I have had unstoppable winning streaks. I go by medals, not kills. Medals I believe are the best bet because they are well rounded in every catagory from objectives, to kills, to defense. Kills are kind of pointless...depending on the situation. Once you lose a turret/node you can't get it back via strength unless you are an overpowered guild, or just lucky enough to be up against and extremely weak team. Yet the later happens a lot that's why the confusion of DPS Shadow Tanks comes about. Part of being a tank unfortunately is about helping out your team! It's a hard lesson I'm learning as I level up in valor. pre 50, and pre 1.2 I could do a lot of damage but now I find myself giving that up a little for 2 reasons; 1. If I stay alive longer I can make up for my team..when they don't protect a node etc. I am always protecting it...like glue...a lot of players don't. This increases my chance of getting a win for everyone and for getting those defense medals. 2. I'm helping my team big time by guarding, If I respawn..I lose guarding time. ...so its about the team not me. I think the overall lesson here is this. If you are in an awesome guild you can be a Shadow Tank DPS, but if you are playing lots of Solo Queue or your guild isn't amazing you want to help the rest of the team and in turn help yourself To each his own.

I'm new to this and I have heard about augs being a waste on over 50 warzone gear. could you clarify? does it really not change any percentages? im not gonna waste my time if it doesnt help. why would anyone do it? and thanks for the other great info everyone!

This guide makes a lot of sense! And I agree! Nice work by the way! Very detailed, yet easy to read! I am maxed in Diplomacy. Some people think Diplomacy is lame. It is. That's why I can sell the Grade 6 items I get from it for 8,000+ credits. No one else has it. lol. Just something to think about.

thanks guys! but im not asking how it works or what it does. i dont understand this charge thing....8 of them? are there 8 rocks and every time i get hit 1 disappears? i use KW all the time...but this charge thing...it says 8 when u hover over the ability in large tooltip...i expect it to go down over time or for an opportunity to use the charges.... from what some of u are saying it sounds like i just throw it on and it wears off like anything else. but from the description it seems like there's more to it. does a bar charge up or down when i get hit or shield? cause i dont see one.

rats are just an example and a bad one. but some kind of mini game or more control over taxi...anything would help...the taxi system is really cool but its also boring. Also this issue is far from unimportant. Running out of things to do is a common problem, and so is getting bored from so much walking and riding etc. replay value is probably one of BW main concerns. thats the point of an mmo. by doing these things it will make the game more exciting to replay as well as give the new user less to be annoyed about. it knocks out two birds with one stone, and from hearing about other mmos it really seems like the standard.

I noticed someone else had a problem with it being broken as well....look here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=78442&highlight=kinetic+ward. But I can't even use it. I don't understand this charge stuff...the description says it had 8 charges... where....? how....? when...? either my UI is missing what I need (its very customized) or mine is broken. I have been trying to figure out KW since I got it. How does it work? What buttons do you press for the charges? I have tried shielding afterwords and I see nothing new, and yes I have shield generator equipped. I just put on a new one and saw no change today.

I hear people complain about running out of things to do, I hear them complain about getting bored, I hear them talk about walking feeling endless (and vehicles). So I thought about a way to FILL THE HOLES. What I mean is make the game more exciting where it needs it most. We need to make the "boring" parts fun (the holes). For example I waste a lot of time riding taxi's and speeders. If there was a mini game while doing this (bonus's) that would be rad ( i got this idea from other bloggers who say this game needs more to do, or more mini games). For example while riding the taxi if I could shoot rats etc. and try to set records that would make it more fun. And if while riding speeder I could at least boost, and do a barrel roll.. (lol) that would really really make it better than...just...going forward...and waiting...and waiting....seriously I try to multitask big time while traveling especially on Alderaan. Just an idea. Off the top of my head and in addition to what the other players said> You can up your legacy level. Also do you play warzones? You can get high ranking, and gear. --------------------------------------- Lastly I have to agree with needing stuff to do that's not repetitive..I have a cure for it. so what about endurance? defense gear s hard to get w gear that has willpower. i am consular shadow tank. i have a lot of absorption mods, endurance, and willpower. ive been trying to bump up endurance lately.

Well that's what I mean. Some social aspects needed to be correct in order for things like social gear to be used...at all.

I play at 4-6 pm now everyday during the week and all the servers are the same. Light. It might spike up for an hour around this time (that's why I play at this time..now) but before or after it always looks Light ( I used to get kicked off often while waiting for warzones etc. that's how I know. It shows me the server page). On weekends it should pick up a little, and you are correct it is early and more people will be on later.

I did two quests with my friend. One was a class quest, and one wasn't. I was able to accept the one that wasn't (as he shared it) yet when we went to do the mission nothing happened, yet he said the game told him he completed it etc. Maybe it's a glitch. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info, it really helps! I hope BW does what they say here as it would be great! The confusion comes from the 1.3 videos. Where one of the creators himself said...something like "transfer to any server your friends are on". I guess he was just promoting the game or speaking broad like. He mentioned nothing about consolidating servers...which was my first impression and what the info you posted leads me to believe.

I completely agree! I don't get your point. My point was why push social gear when all the servers are light. Shouldn't they make the game more social friendly first (*see bottom paragraphs of original post)? I did a couple of missions with friends this week...and since they weren't same class...didn't get points. With few people to choose from....should I get some social points for this even if it's not my class? How am I supposed to get to social IV to wear social gear if I can't get points? I have done lots, and lots of flashpoints etc. and still not above social 2.

yep just double checked...light across the whole east and west coast..only two that say Standard. I guess everyone would just jump to those two?

all the servers that i see for east and west coast are all Light. there might be one from time to time that's Standard occasionally and that's out of ALL of them.

Social gear with nobody around to wear it with? It's that hypocritical? Why would BW push a social aspect of the game before the game is social enough? I's true it does seem like a ghost town. It's hard enough as it is to get someone in your guild or to play a warzone. I hope BW fixes other aspects, socially, first. Two social problems are listed in the paragraphs below. Now server transfers would help if they were forced...but since they are voluntary all well see is people hoping all over...and not really condensing to one server....so social problem not solved. What about the fact that when I help someone from a different class on their mission (spectator mode and such) I don't get any social points at all.....shouldn't I get something for this...even a little? I mean there aren't many people out there to be social with? So how am I even supposed to get social points for social gear? I'm not even past social one, and I do flashpoints all the time. I hope and pray the BW fix other social aspects of the game first before pushing social gear. It' just hypocritical.

On a serious note we should be able to mod anything we want...maybe via paying a mod vendor to "transform" the item (so it's not with every piece of armor). My point is that I was under the impression we could Mod clothes after watching the first 1.3 video. It would have been cool to wear clothes we actually liked. Instead BW says here are 5 new outfits. That's very limited and this new social gear is more on the cheesy/fun side. By not doing this...its such a waste for all that cool armor we can never wear after level 50, being able to mod what we want would open almost unlimited possibilities for what our characters could look like.
