  1. Im very excited about this update. Was wondering though, since the arenas look to be situated 'in world' is there any chance we could place our toons out side them and watch? Maybe with an option to choose what instance we were watching? Don't even know if thats technically possible but it would be very cool thing to do while you Q for your next match...
  2. Hope your taking note of this Bioware
  3. Wondering if anyone else has found this... Since the latest patch I've found warzones to be even more unballanced. In the patch notes it says they had done something to stop this happening, but while before I only ever noticed the odd 8 vs 7 match, now I've seen a few 4 v 8's, really unfair and not fun no matter what side your on (I just finished a game where we literally walked through Voidstar, at the end there was a full team but clearly at least 3 had just joined since they had no points what so ever) Is this just me then? Or just anouther sign of TOFN's demise?
  4. Not everyone, im in the beta and really dont like the game. No voice acting, no agro pulls, **** non-existent story and boring npc's and really poor combat ... everything swtor is not. Cant say anymore tho due to NDA, you'll have to wait n see for your self, but dont hold your breath
  5. This. Its more a remake of the episode where they first meet Kahn, with some nice tie-ins to the movie. And alot of Trek fans really hate the new movies, mainly because they have lost the sophisticated edge and are now more like star wars... bodes well for the future of Star Wars tho
  6. Agreed OP. That would be very cool. They really do need to go back and touch up the gameplay like this, adding cut-screens and the like. Would make great quality of life improvements. If returns is an issue (and obviously it is) I think things like this would hook new players quicker, players not familier with MMO's but just looking for a cool RPG, which I'd bet is the majority of new players these days.
  7. Not trying to cause arguments or give offense, but.... Can someone explain to me why people only focus on PVP or PVE? To me thats just limiting what you can do in the game. I get that to be great at one you need to focus on it and get the right gear etc, but why not just have PVP alts and PVE alts instead of just ignoring all gameplay that isn't your preferred content? Seems to me if thats how you operate then you are going to get annoyed that there isn't enough content, but if you learn to like all aspects of the game you will always be happy. Again, not trying to flame or anything, just curious.
  8. Nice to see a positive post. Glad your enjoying it OP, what class are you going to pick next? Im working on my Bounty Hunter right now, really loving it too. The story itself isn't the best I've played (so far) but the interaction with your crew is what makes it for me, and the great feeling you have of living the life of a hunter. Also seems to have a lot of different branching dialogue trees depending on your choices which is a nice touch and something I didn't notice much in my Jedi knight (both dark and light) or consular stories. I keep hearing the Agent is the best story, but I think i'll save that for last, always nice to work your way up to the best bit. Anyway, have fun! .... seems people forget to do that these days judging from most of the forum posts.
  9. 2 words ... gear up If you think about your stats and stay in at least blue gear you can easily run the game from anything up to 4 levels below recommended, tho I'd suggest keeping it to 3 as 4 levels under can be challenging. Alternatively just over level by doing bonus quests, flashpoints ect, but to me is much more fun to be underlevelled. If your struggling, its all about your gear.
  10. Ditto to posts above ... why does it take two hours to do this? and why did we NEED it doing so badly? Would be nice if a dev could explain that to us
  11. eh? UTC is not BST, we are an hour a head of GMT and UTC right now ... so whats the point in using it? Sigh, hate it when we get such short notice to patches
  12. If this is true you have more money than sense and should be ashamed. next time you get an urge to throw money away give it to charity or someone who cant afford to live. good god i hope you were trolling
  13. Well as much as my word is good enough for ya ... I was recently a preferred status player, I have 11 characters, I could only play 6. When you log in, you dont see the play button next to your Toons, you see an activate button. Once activated I dont think there is a way to deactivate. Im sure there will be some proof out there if you google it.
  14. When you go f2p from being a sub you have to activate the toon you want to play as, and you only get six activations. When they first introduced this it did work like you said, much to my delight, but they quickly changed this. What this means tho is that if you have more than 6 characters, you will have to delete some if you want to create a new one at any point. Or just move to a new server of course. As I dont have much time to play on occasions (being a student and having a job) I often unsub and then re-sub for a few months in order to sort out my characters. You can defiantly have fun with the game in preferred status, but after a while you really do need a sub again in order to enjoy everything the game has to offer.
  15. sorry just to but in, the above post said you get 3 quick bars as preferred, you actually get 4. and 6 active character slots. If you like playing alts then I also recommend before unsubbing that you distribute your credits between toons as you cant send credits as mail as a f2p player.
  16. Wow, cant believe how much hate this is generating. Personally I quite like the dyes, easy enough to get what you want on the GTN or even by crafting. Some folks here really need to put their dummies back in. Fair enough if your not happy, but seriously, chill out. Its only a game. No need to be total jerks to other players who are actually enjoying the game.
  17. Funny thing.... Im a subscriber and tonight I changed my characters hair style (to the new qui-gon jinn look ) and beard and bought two dye packs, now got a very nice looking white and red armoured robe set I've put together. Over all, very happy with my new look. How much did I pay? Nothing. I had 880 cartel coins saved from monthly grants, I spent 280 of that at the barber shop. The dye packs I bought on the GTN, one for 20K (the one didn't end up using!) and the other for 12K. My point is you can enjoy this new content as a sub for no extra cost. Would it be better if there was no CC shop and no F2P, and no armour dyes or barber shop? Limited access to a thing is stil better than access to nothing.
  18. All great suggestions. For the duelling thing, it would be cool if they had a mini arenas on every plannet, maybe near/in/above the cantine, restricted to players within the level limits for that plannet. Then you could have a main arena on the capital worlds where anyone could enter. Then maybe a VIP arena on the fleet, where only the best duelists could fight. Also be cool if some of them were recorded and streamed to viewing screens on the fleet, cantines and even player ships. Things like this would all help create a much bigger and more inclusive community feel
  19. Sorry if this has been mentioned before... One big quality of life improvement I would love to see would be cut-screens, akin to those at the start of RotHC, implemented retrospectively throughout the game. It would e cool if these took two forms. First, have a cut-screen for every plannet when coming out of hyperspace and either landing or docking in an orbital station. Second, cut-screens for space battles that you fly through/ happen in background. There are plenty of bits of the story where you are told there is a battle going on, the republic are holding the empire of while you complete and objective ect, not being aware of this outside of a few lines of dialogue is imersion breaking for me. It would feel much more like star wars if when I invaded an enemy space station or bordered a ship, I could see this happening. Things like this make the world feel larger, more immersive, more alive and more star wars like. Not to mention that it would just make the game flow better, make triumphant endings more satisfying etc. I was always silently disappointed by these not being in the game, but playing RotHC makes there absence in the rest of the game more noticeable. Cut-screens like these were a big part of what made Kotor feel like such an epic tale, up there with the films in terms of cinematic story telling. This stories in this game are epic, but without this extra layer of polish they feel hollow. So please Bioware, if your listening, give this game the cut-screens it deserves, and not exclusively in future content.
  20. lol! The Darth Vader business plan... "I am altering the deal, pray I dont alter it any further"
  21. what you get ... 500 CC a month (so yeh the things in the store are free as long as you dont gamble your coins away) 12 character slots The ability to send credits in mail between alts (this is a biggy for me) No credit cap Hide headslot / unify colours 6 quick bars Unlimited warzones Unlimited flashpoint rolls Unlimited space missions Artefact equipment Event Equipment Access to Operations Access to things like Section X Faster levelling & rested XP Discounted expansions (assuming they continue that theme) No restrictions on chat ... thats all i can think of right now. As someone who doesnt always have a lot of time to play this game, I often unsub for a while. Its fine for just ocasional playing but when I actually want to really play the game properly I alway resub. It makes a massive difference especially if your an alt-aholic like me. So yeh, personally i do think its worth £9 (or $15) a month, I mean thats like the price of a cinema ticket or two pints and a packet of crisps.....
  22. I had this problem with starting the world quest on Belsavis. On my latest play through with a JK i've found it much more fun to stay a few lvl's behind the recommended lvl. You level quicker and the content is more challenging. Found this "bug" rather strange though considering I've been able to pick up red quests before and after this one. Not sure if its intentional.
