I agree with pretty much everything. When I first started playing I was impressed with the class story and the voice acting but after a while it turned out to be nothing but makeup on a pig. Sure all quests were voice acted but they all also were uninspired "kill 10" or "collect 5" quests.

I didn't really choose faction as much as I choose a class, in my case BH. Would've prefered a third "neutral" faction to be honest.

Well I don't really care for either jedis or sith so it's was basicly between Bounty Hunter and Smuggler and BH wins that by a longshot. Sure, trooper and agent works but they're still a bit to tied to empire/republic for my taste and after playing both BH and trooper the BH just plays better, more fluid and responsive while the trooper just feels sluggish and suffering from bad ability delays. But I would have really prefered a neutral faction where I could play a BH and doing missions for cartels and huts instead of the empire. Would've been a blessing for PvP aswell of course.

Nice post and I agree to a high degree. I joined this game late and for the first levels I was impressed with how much the class story (and to a lesser degree voice overs in side quests) helped to make my questing involved and fun. But the more I levelled the standard MMO grind started to reveal itself, making my class story become fragmented as I needed to do all kind of MMO 101 stuff just to gain levels so I could continue the story. Now I'm at the point where I'm mostly PvP'ing inbetween class quests (and that have it's own problems with ability responsivness and such) and since it takes longer and longer to gain levels I sometimes almost forget the current focus of my story. It kind of feels like I'm watching a movie that's actually pretty good only that there's a half hour commersial for every 5 minutes of film. It's just not a good way to tell a story.

Yea, I recently switched from BH to trooper and I'm baffled how much smoother the BH is to play. It's not only Mortar Volly but Stockstrike is suffering from an annoying delay aswell as Full Auto. Might switch back since I can't get a fluid feeling playing the class.

I agree that LS and DS aren't that well done. As already mentioned I found it pretty funny that I got LS points for poisoning the water supply and killing slaves. But I don't really see the connection to chaotic/lawful. Of course you can find individual examples that fit that statement but I don't think it's consistant.

I actually love the story and not having to read endless of quest text, but in some way I wish that Bioware would've had the balls to go a bit further with the story focus since I feel that as I level up (I'm fairly new to the game) I get less and less of class story and more and more of an mediocre MMO.
