  1. They're working on nerfing powertechs, that info was released a few days ago, will come down with patch 1.2, plus they're changing talents for other classes so everyone will have to respec after 1.2 (they're resetting your talents) They might not have done it in a while but it's in the works.
  2. I only pvp. Valor rank 60 and I think I've run maybe 5 flash points since I started playing. As long as I'm still having fun with the pvp system, I will continue to play. If it gets stale I might take a hike. 1.2 is a welcome change for me with more options than huttball for imp on imp warzones as well as rateds.
  3. What about the guy that's holding off the enemies while someone else caps, the guy that right clicked gets medals, the support to ensure that cap gets nothing. You can't make objective only medals and expect to win. Everyone would be trying to be first on the node.
  4. If you're only goal in pvp is to just get gear, then yes the game will be dead to you. I personally enjoy the actual pvp, seeing if I'm better than other classes, learning the ins and outs of all the other classes and tweeking my play style accordingly. Sure I can gear up faster. I'm in full champ and a few pieces of BM. I'm ok with it being easier for people to valor up and get equal gearing. The people who are skilled will shine and instead of battlemasters face rolling people b/c their gear is much better than the rest of the field. If you're not having fun pvping and you're doing it just for gear maybe you should PvE...
  5. Your job as an operative should be ganking healers, your stunlock on a healer could be the difference in getting the ball back. You don't have a real utility in huttball except kill healers and keep mid clear if your team is scoring.
  6. I'm glad they're going to implement more medals and fix the objective system, I know right now that it is broken. I can score 4 out of 6 points in huttball and get zero objective points or arm the bomb on every door in void star the same. There is going to be a resounding problem though with adding points for objectives and that will be people going overboard to achieve the objective. The guy that should pass in huttball but won't because he needs to score for more medals while the people healing him get nothing. Unless they add medals for support...ie taking the ball, passing for a gain, healing the carrier, or guarding the carrier. In the other 2 everyone will be on the door trying to catch the bomb plant and leaving no one to defend and keep the enemy away b/c they're trying to get their objectives. They need to award points to everyone in the area of the capture, they provided support just as important as the guy that clicked on the node. I'm not saying they're not going to include this but if they make it generic and literal to being specifically about the objective and not in support of, it'll be a problem. With every incentive comes problems. If you roll with a group this won't be an issue but if you're like me and solo que most of the time this will probably be an issue we'll see a lot. I really hope not but I have a strong feeling that that is what it's going to turn in to.
  7. Apparently you haven't seen Mara dmg when they're geared. I don't play a Mara but I know the BM marauders are nasty. They hit harder than anything else except maybe an operative but if the operative doesn't catch me while he's stealthed, I'm not at all worried. I've heard they're very gear dependent and I see that b/c the guys in full champ and bm are nasty. Once you get your expertise gear at 50 and assuming you know how to pvp (much different then pve) you'll be fine.

    Ilum Warzone

When you get to 50 and go to illum with no expertise you'll realize your skill doesn't mean a whole lot. I was really surprised how gear dependent PVP was. 10-49 I pvped almost exclusively and considered myself a good player. I rarely if ever lost in a 1v1 scenario and most 2v1s unless it was 2 other skilled players or healer and dps. I hit 50 and was blindsided. I had my champ bag and bought 5 others the minute I hit 50 but when I got into my first match against a premade of BM's it was just murder. My crits were around 2k while they were hitting me for 4k to 5k. I had 13k health, they had 18k. Granted getting expertise is easy so I've gotten caught up in cent and champ gear and am doing fine. Their crit white hits were as big as my big abilities. Take all that into account when you claim skill will save you. It should but it won't. There's been a few keyboard turning baddies with way better gear than me that I've taken but only b/c they were awful. Good luck believing you're going to march into Illum and rip faces b/c of your skill...you'll look back on this post and agree with me.
  9. I will preface this statement by saying that I have never kill traded. I go and try to get my armaments the painful way by doing circuits around central with 20 other imperials looking for their spawn and on the rare occasion republic shows up we usually put together a group and try to wipe them for more armaments. Kill trading is a guarantee to finish your daily and for people who play less than I do / night it may be their only viable option to finish that daily. Right now Illum is such a joke, at least on my server. It's the only daily I have ever DREADED playing MMOs. I think it was a good idea but on my server with IMP far outnumbering REP it's a 1 sided grind for quest items. I just get on a speeder everynight and hope that in the 2 or 3 hours I'm online I can find all 30 while still trying to get my 3 wins in WZ matches. I think a lot of pain would be alleviated if they just lowered the amount of items needed to complete the quest b/c as it is now just cruising around looking for boxes is a nightmare and the most time consuming daily I've ever seen, or maybe up the spawns to around the entire map not just 8 boxes around central.
  10. I think the reason I avoided that route was to avoid casting... With all the pvp atm basically being crowds, deathfield seems to do the most dmg as well as giving you a heal along with the self healing in the darkness tree. I know the debuff with wither is nice but for straight pvp dmg dealing it "seems" to me that deathfield is better. I know that you can get a no pushback force lightning but it can still be interrupted and with all the interrupts and knock backs in the game I'd imagine finding time to use that would be more situational than placing deathfield. Any reason you put 2 points in duplicity instead of dark embrace?
  11. I know they did some nerfs to make hybrids more difficult and somewhat unviable. I've been messing around a bit. Right now I'm a lvl 46 dual shock decep assassin and have been since day 1, I love deception but I wouldn't mind trying something new. I put this together to try to take as much PVP relevancy as I could. This is strictly for PVP with no end game PVE content being considered. What are you thoughts and critiques. I haven't tried it yet but the overall appearance to me looks pretty solid. This is also assuming you're using dark charge as well, not lightning. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#200rIrozbskZ0MZf0for.1
  12. Having 90 force and standing behind the target and maul won't execute, just half swings over and over with a total wasted electrocute or low slash.
