  1. Weird. I unsubbed through the website, and the last step is a page asking you why you're leaving.
  2. I unsubbed yesterday, and I put the CXP nerf down as my reason when asked on the form. However, I want to make it clear, that I'm not quitting SOLELY because of that. It's simply the last bloody straw. The reasons are many 1) No new FP/OP content in years. 2) Barely any new PvP content. 3) GSF has gone ignored since release. 4) The horrible F2P model that I refuse to acknowledge. If I play, I sub. If I don't sub, I don't play. Period. 5) The largely awful "subscriber rewards." The only ones I got that actually meant anything were vehicle and the bonus chapter. The rest was all garbage. 6) The never-ending stream of gambleboxes. 7) The fact that decorations for Strongholds are almost exclusively gamblebox content, meaing I have to spend real cash for a chance get them, or pay vastly over-inflated GTN prices for them. Basically, rendering another feature I should adore nothing but a time/money sink. No thanks. 8) The constant "class balance" changes that seem to be done by someone who's never actually played the game in a live environment. 9) The new entirely RNG-based gear progression system that runs off STILL MORE GAMBLEBOXES. 10) Nerfing the progression to RNG progression system. Seriously, fsck these devs. Fsck their corporate overlords. I'd rather play a P2W Korean import MMO like BDO or Archeage than give them one more dime of my money.
  3. My sub had 3 days left. It's now cancelled. And the thing is, I loved the story content. I'd gotten some good drops from my first few GC lockboxes. The store sales were good, and I had enough saved up to get several items I'd been wanting. Now I've quit, and I'm sad. I really loved this game. I've defended it to a lot of people over the years. But between the contempt/incompetence of the devs and the raw naked greed of the publishers, I can no longer do so. I'm really going to miss this game, but it's been dying for a long time, I just didn't want to see it. It's finally time to accept that it's time has passed, and move on.
  4. I think New Level 60 characters should get the titles they'd have gained through completing their class story, such as "Knight of the Republic" and "Darth" and "Barsenthor". You're referred to these titles in game, and it seems odd that I can't choose to select them, when the game treats the storyline as completed.
  5. Playing the Loot Lottery can be fun if you like that sort of thing. Anything in the crates can also be bought off the GTN for in-game currency, though some of them items can get rather pricey.
  6. So far, the Inquisitor has been my favorite storyline of the three classes I've experienced (Knight and Smuggler). While Act II suffers the same "lets stretch this out over 5+ planets" issue that all the stories do, I thought it was solid overall.
  7. I'm in the same boat you are. Would you consider forming a late night guild? I've seen a few other individuals with the same schedule on here. if we join forces, we could provide our own solution.

  9. I'm stuck in a crappy job in an even crappier schedule, working 3pm-Midnight, Sunday - Thursday. I'm really looking for a guild that has a few people on either late night or late morning to do Heroics, PvP, and the like. I'd love to raid as well, but that might be asking a bit much. I do have Fridays and Saturday evenings free for a more traditional raiding spot. I have raid experience with WoW and TOR, and have completed Story Mode with my old guild on the first three raids, and am geared up to Columi with some Black Hole thrown in for good measure, so I'm not completely useless.
  10. Hey man, I'm in the same boat. I work 3pm-Midnight Eastern Time, Sun-Thurs. If nothing else, maybe we can try and form our own night owl guild. I'll be taking a gander at Underworld Alliance too.
  11. Ah okay. Was just checking. I tried that with my Inquisitor and found out later, to solo as a Sorcerer, I needed to go partway up madness, then partway up lightining, then back to madness. Made a huge difference. wasn't sure if that was going to be the case with my smuggler too. thanks!
  12. New Smuggler here, only lvl 18. Was wondering what the best path to take for leveling is? I've seen several recommendations for Sawbones with Corso, but the builds are all for lvl 50.
  13. Okay just some follow up here for anyone who reads this and might actually be vaguely curious. Upgrading Khem Val's armor increased his survivability, but the real boon has been that 0/18/32 spec. I've never been a big fan of DoTs in MMOs, but this spec has changed my mind. The two story quests that were blocking me and driving me to endless frustration? Easy now. Between Khem not dying in 5 seconds and what feels like a 30% increase in damage output over a "highly recommened" Lightning leveling build, I found. This has turned sorcerer leveling from highly frustrating to highly fun. Thanks!
  14. Okay I Emergency Jumped back to Fleet and did some reassessment. My gear only had 2 weak pieces, but poor Khem Val! Despite the fact that I've been CONSTANTLY gearing him up through his quest rewards (i haven't turned a piece down with his name on it), he was WOEFULLY undergeared. Just grabbing some tanking greens off the Exchange has buffed him immensely, so that may be all I need. But since I'm on fleet, I might as well re-check my spec while I'm here. I've read in a similiar thread that a mixed 0/13/28 Madness build is great for solo-ing, and while the poster was helpful on rotation, he didn't post much on the build itself beyond "go to here in Madnes, then go Lightning." What's a good DPS/Heal hybrid spec for leveling, and where should I be on it circa lvl 30? Most of the threads I'm finding are for Endgame, PvP, or 6 months out of date.
  15. But I can't last. t his guy WILL NOT DROP. I burn through all my force just keeping Khem up and bubbled, and Khem STILL drops with the guy at 30%, at which point he runs over and kills me in 3 hits.
  16. Okay, I think I'm missing a CC. What should I be using to CC a gold mob to re-heal? I've used the Bubble but it recharges so slowly... and I have to spam-heal Khem the entire time so my Force goes quickly. I've also skipped healing and gone for straight up damage, but that actually goes WORSE. I am equal level to the quest, at the moment. Though from what I remember leveling a Sentinel, that's still too low. These over-tuned mobs need 2-3 levels higher to run outside of a group without a dedicated healer companion.
  17. Okay, I just got back after an extended hiatus and want to get back to leveling my Sith Sorcerer. I'm level 30, and on Alderaan, doing the Rist quests. My problem is, Khem Val and I can't take down a single melee Gold Boss. I've pulled every trick I know, and he wont' die. He only seems to have one interruptible ability and stopping it only slows down our inevitable deaths by a few seconds. I feel like either my build is wrong, I'm missing something important ability-wise to control the situation, or both. Right now I've gone with a lightning build. Should I just chuck that and go healer?
  18. No, what you miss is a critical part hinting he's a Force Ghost now. He's still dead.
  19. Yes, but it's not *my* Revan or *your* Revan that gets to be a Force Ghost, it's Bioware's Revan, and quite frankly, I didn't care for their interpretation. Honestly, the character could have been dead of old age or vanished "beyond the Rim" 300 years ago, and it would kept the mystique and unique nature of Revan intact. I didn't need Revan in TOR, and I sure as hell didn't need to kill him.
  20. My problem with the treatment of Revan is two fold. First of all, Revan was a cipher for the player to write themselves onto, while giving him an interesting backstory. TOR basically removed that player-proxy status, and players are upset by this. Second, Revan didn't NEED to be written out. It was three hundred years later. He should be dead of old age, barring any other kind of end. He was gone. His story was over. So ultimately, I feel this was less about given fan service for a favorite character, and more like deconstructing one in a clumsy and haphazard fashion. My more paranoid leanings make me wonder if it was willing character assassination, that someone at Bioware or Lucasarts didn't like how insanely popular the character was and wanted him "ruined." The "Revan" Novel and "The Foundry" flashpoint are a massive disservice to the fans of Knight of the Old Republic and is better off ignored.
  21. Underpowered? Hum, tricky question. From about 28-36, in a PVE environment, I'd say definitely. Once you get Doc it gets better, and once you hit 40 and finish the Watchman Tree for talents, it becomes fun again. I think mainly the class is (and watch me get flamed for this) too complex. While certainly far better than "press 2 buttons over and over" playstyle, the Sentinel goes too far in the other direction. The amount of things I have to juggle to be effective is ridiculous. IMO, some of the abilities could be consolidated to save bar space, and to make our lives just a little easier.
  22. The irony here is, my experience was identical, but opposite. I had the same hellish difficulty spike, but switched from Watchman to Combat at lvl 29, and that made it a *little* easier. That being said, I still had to get a leveling partner to finish off my own story missions, due to all the Sith Elites being thrown out. Now I've got Doc. Maybe I'll give Watchman another chance.
