  2. I do admit that commando's lack uniqueness but we still pull of good damage I don't see why I wouldnt get a spot.. Perhaps people rather take vanguards, I don't know. Havn't got a spot for rwz yet anyway.
  3. Hi everyone! Been trying to find a group for rwz with random players lately but I'v been turned down for one sole reason: "We don't like commando dps, sorry mate but your class aint good enough" hell... My performance as a gunnery commando after 1.3 have been great! I end up 1-3 top dps/kills every decent game I play but still I'm not welcome... Time to open up your eyes people commando gunnery is back!
  4. Thank you! I don't think players on Lord Calypho will get the chance to move to be honest since it's the only RP-PvP server. I don't got the patience to wait for paid transferrs either besides I wouldnt pay for it either. But thanks for the answer!
  5. Hi! Do anyone know or perhaps if some bioware employe sees this, if you can move your legacy betwine servers? All my characters and legacy are stuck on Lord Calypho (we didnt get the chance to transfer) and I want to move my legacy to the new server I rerolled on, is this possible? Would be nice to move some credits aswell. Thank you.
  6. I love "1v1 encounters" part, run or die great I get the feeling I'm playing a wonderful class! I'm totally useless if someone attacks me! yay! Lets try to run away, ooh wait! I just got pulled, jumped or my enemy just ran to me with speedbuff. I'v given up on running away instead I just deal as much damage possible before I die or manage to kill my target off. Since Commando don't have any escape ability I find running away to be a bad tactic. Of course you can pre-action kite, like go los if your 6th sense start tingeling and you know someone is coming for ya. Started a Vanguard and I have been playing more and more on that toon instead of my commando, much more fun to be the predator than it is to be sheep.
  7. thanks for the replies! I'v been trying out being the "support" dps you mentioned and somewhat it's easier to except that you get stomped once a jugg/mara jumps you. Our damage + cc as gunnery got alot of potential but it's as you say, it's not a "faceroll" class and sometimes it's damn impossible to pull off something useful. Due to "long" cast times and no tool to break snares/roots (in the gunnery tree that is) commandos feels alittle underpowered if you take a look at sages for example with speed boosts instant cc, roots, range interrupt and so on. I still play my commando since I enjoy it but I would enjoy it even more if our role gets abit more defined, as it is now we are just alittle of everything. cheers again for the answers. Also about the tips, I'm fully aware of pretty much everything you mentioned ^^
  8. Heya everyone! Been thinkin' lately about what role do a commando have in PvP as dps? I find that something is lackin, am I supose to be a turret (stand still and actually do damage) before I get bashed or am I supose to run around using hammershot? Been playing around with both assult specialist and gunnery they have their own benefits but I'm not very satisfied. I can empty a full clip of ammo without killing my target and if I get attacked it's pretty much over. I consider myself a good pvper and I'm use to the playstyle (played elemental shaman in world of warcraft 1700-1800 rated arena 2v2 and 3v3) but still I can't figure out how to kill a melee class. So I wonder, if I want to be of any use to my team during warzones should I just try to deal as much damage as possible before someone notice me or should I run around trying to survive the best I can? perhaps off-heal as dps? I don't know. What role do a commando have in PvP?
  9. How exactly does that work? how do you take down a similar gear/skilled melee class? The lacking of tools to be competative just shines when it comes to commando. "don't be a turret" well commando gunnery aint dealing that much damage if we don't actually stand still to either channel or cast something, my on the run abilities are, sticky bomb,stockstrike, hammershot. Anyway it doesnt matter anymore just respec'd assult specialist because the lack of mobility in Gunnery so far it working out much better.

  11. Like gravity round share same cooldown with stockstrike, fill up 5 armor debuffs at once + knockback = greatness, much less spamming and bioware just forfilled their goal with gravity round!
  12. Hi Bioware and fellow players! Just checked the "classes" section on this site and I happend to discover something cool! I went on to the trooper > commando and looked at the four abilities that are supose to stand out for each commando specialization and there it was, "Charged Barrel" = "Charged Rounds increase the damage of your next hammershot by 10%, last 6 sec" Is this something for the future!? If so it would be great! it would increase our mobility by alot and perhaps even make us a threat in PvP once agian. Please respond bioware, you got my hopes up!
  13. Hmm, it was pretty much the same pre 1.2 just that when a caster got off an attack it actually dealt damage. I had this scenario 1v1 agianst a tank juggernaut once, just him and me alone at mid civil war, he used all his might stright away with leap, force push, leap bash/smash whatever and then started to interrupt nearly every gravity round I tried to pull off. Then I got one gravity round off and it hit for 700 damage that's just weak considering I got 1205 expertise (full battlemaster) alittle off-topic but still. Since there are so meny interrupt don't you think a caster should be able to deal some damage once they actually succesfully cast something?
  14. This is something Bioware need to look into! I know that meny want to play ranged but they pay the heavy price of being bad in PvP. I like being ranged and I like playing PvP but it all boiled down to this decision: Stay ranged and suck at pvp or go melee and get good at PvP. which is sad. In one of my other threads this guy told me to reroll gunslinger but that just aint happening since I enjoy being a trooper. Perhaps there will be a hotfix/rewamp on this matter soon so stay vigilant my ranged brethern, don't unsub!
  15. hehe, aye. perhaps not EASY easy mode, I can still beat people with my commando but it takes alot of effort and relic + something else that has high CD to bring a target down 1v1. I do enjoy when I get the chance to free-cast but that just aint happening anymore since pretty much everyone are playing melee and steamroll caster-teams. Grapple/Harpoon FTW!

Just rerolled to Vanguard from Commando (for obvious reasons) and just started out PvPing and it came to me, it seems noone want to play a caster class any longer, the casters I'v seen so far are snipers/gunslingers (which get a interrupt immunity) isnt this weird? or is it just because melee are to powerful? Well I rerolled / made this alt because I find myself getting interrupted to death on my commando and I expected to be able to get some payback but there is noone to interrupt! Where did all the easy kill commando/mercenaires go? Did they reroll just like me?

  18. Well this is it, I don't want to reroll but bioware have pretty much forced people to reroll if their main character was a commando and if they wnt to enjoy PvP. Damn shame.
  19. Like the ideas man, I would be extremly happy if they just improved our damage abit and gave us something more to stay ranged, since our armor means nothing.

I don't charge into to any battle I get jumped and killed and if lucky I manage to escape because another Jedi jump the Sith that jumped me. "overwhelming their enemies with brute firepower" I don't overwhelm anyone with my "brute firepower" infact my "brute firepower" gets interrupted and during the time I'm interrupted I get killed. I thought it was a matter of items first and now I got full battlemaster except the off-hand, the only thing that changed was that I now got the chance to actually survive long enough to knock Sith players off a edge, into a fire or acid. Class info: "Trained in advanced knockback tactics and stupidity, Commandos run away from battle with massive interruptible assult cannons, Trying to overwhelm their enemies with brute knockback power" ah sounds about right! Alright now for the serious part. Am I expected to die if someone comes for me? is that the combat role for commandos in PvP? because yeah I can kill people if they aint targeting me but hell can't everyone? The only reason I still do PvP is because it's something fun to do with guildies but still commandos need some serious improvements PvP-wise. Was doing a warzone with a guildie the other day we were in Novare Coast protecting a panel. 2 commandos. A Sith Assassin apears and try to kill my friend we both start attacking this Assassin by the end of the fight we won but my friend barely made it I had to stop dpsing and heal him twice just so he wouldnt be a goner. now for the twist, lets say there were two assassins protecting the panel and a commando comes along they would rip him apart in matter of seconds no doubt he would litteraly be dead within seconds. So before you release the rated warzones bioware you either change the description for Commandos so noone else have to experience how bad commandos are at PvP or you fix this huge gap you have made betwin commandos and pretty much every other class. I know alot of whining but what the hell am I supose to do, I like my commando but why is he SOOO bad... Another sidenote: Don't want any tip on how I should play my character or how bad I am. This thread is to be shared with others feeling the same about their commandos and perhaps a heads up for bioware. Thank you.

  23. And it seems like you all are missing the point here, lets say I had my cryo up and were able to stun would that kill him? no it wouldnt. And yeah I'm happy for everyone playing marauder/sentinel it most be real fun to play since when I was leveling up there were only mara/sent, shadow/assassins leveling pretty much. there is no excuse for this it's simple facts now I had a extremly unlucky situation which I wanted to share on the forum to express how tiresome it is to see all leaps instant bashing dots high crits invis speed boost, damage immunity damaging stuns etc etc when all commandos got after we got "fixed" to have a more intresting rotation was becoming a monkey for melee classes to hunt down and slash in two pieces Yes i'm overreacting but this is how it feels.
