  1. 1 - Lack of faith in EA. EA is notorious at purchasing franchises and then making them into mediocore, quick selling games. Need For Speed and Crysis come to mind immediately. Their recent decisions in regards to the Christmas event and this new content that Subscribers have to /pay/ for (it's premium content, what the hell?), means that any trust I had in this game has quickly been sapped. 2 - F2P. I returned for F2P, and I felt bullied into buying a subscriber status. I bought it originally because I thought that EA would give me something worth while for my money like in APB, but that's clearly not the case. They believe by aggravating me, and then promising the cure to said irritation instead of making a genuinely good F2P game and then selling Subscriber status to me to elevate my experience. Secondly, having to deal with Polski spam in general chat is aggravating to the extreme. 3 - Lack of content. I played this game months ago, and no PvE/Leveling/Noticeable content has really been added. I don't generally play PvP due to the fact that my FPS is terrible. Engine problems. The only thing I've seen is HK. Also, bugs from way back when I played originally are STILL HERE. What the hell?! 4 - Low Performance/Bugs. My FPS is terrible, often it will be around 20 FPS and sharply dive if I decide to play in a party or actually do anything. I recently downloaded SWTOR Unleashed, which rose my FPS by a significant amount. The community around this game, owned by a commercial and for-profit organization, had to fix it FOR THEM. ALL. OF MY RAGE. Secondly, I keep getting stuck on things, meaning I'm stuck there. Forever. Unless I use /stuck, but I often actually get stuck again before it recharges. It's really that bad! Also, I keep spotting ways out of the maps, like massive tears in the back of rocks and stuff that just let you fall out of the map. I know better than to go in them, but it's a symbol of how low quality this game really was.. 5 - Bored, bored, bored! This game is boring. I hate having to go through Alderaan.. AGAIN. Do X's quests... AGAIN. The only thing unique about each character is the class quest, but a single unique quest every once and a while does nothing to stimulate my interest because getting to it is so bloody boring! Secondly, they don't break the MMO formula. I'm still killing x10 of NarNar slugs, I'm still going from A to B to collect item C and bring it to D, it's just so gosh darn boring! Why am I paying £10 for this?! Just make KOTOR 3. Just do it. Stop with TOR, make KOTOR 3. Right now. Go. GO. >:c
  2. Totally agreed, I no longer have any motivation to put up with EA. Assuming that this is eaten up by the masses, I won't be able to do endgame with my 50s any more unless I buy their stuff as well, so I only have the leveling experience. I'll probablly grind a couple of my characters to 50 and then forget about the game entirely, but there's no way I'll be resubscribing or coughing up any more money. Also, I can't play PvP, my FPS is terrible. It's super awesome that you and your son are a game playing duo, by the way. <3
  3. I never understood the gift card thing. Just give him $20. I'm sure he'll appreciate it just as much.
  4. You dashed my hopes that Subscribers get a fairer deal quite well, sirs! Good show!
  5. Curiously, anyone here a subscriber? You have to pay for premium content as a subscriber. Is that standard practice? I'm not sure, I haven't been around that much, but something about this new expansion (was about to call it content) rubs me the wrong way. I used to play ages ago. I'd specify, but suffice to say, perhaps about 2-3 months after release? I returned, but whenever I returned, I expected something. I expected the countless bugs that I encountered to be fixed. They have not been fixed. I expected a higher FPS. My FPS is as terrible as ever. I expected some sort of new content to be added to the game (I don't PvP, so sorry if they've added PvP content, I just haven't picked up on it.), but from what I can see, the only thing they've added that I would actually find to sweeten the TOR deal as HK, and that was pretty recent, wasn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong in the above paragraph, but it doesn't really seem appropriate to just shell out an expansion when it's been a year of lackluster development. If it was premium content for subscribers, then I would be more comfortable with this, but.. no. They give you a slightly better deal to consume their products, yay!... No. I'm tired with this. It seems EA is too greedy. They don't seem to be willing to invest in the game and give a genuine and fair deal, but they're willing to moneywhore their 250 million back. It's sort of sad that they've completely ignored both my financial investment into the game, and secondly my emotional investment in the series. I'm sad now.
  6. To be honest, if they had just ignored chirstmas altogether, I'd just have shrugged and went, "Huh, I guess they're just not doing it", but to fling a couple of cheap models on the market is just aggravating. They don't value me as a player, but simply see me as a consumer, and I'm not comfortable being seen in that light.
  7. ... Well, I liked it.. For what it was, it was a nice distraction, I liked the gameplay stylingz, and the fact that it's in a modern setting. Also, Illuminati. @_@
  8. I'm a sub right now, but I've already canceled. Playing for free, since I can't play PvP and PvE is.. boring. The story's nice, but they really should have just gave us KOTOR 3 instead. Subscription really isn't worth the price I paid, and the restrictions are aggravating, but at least I can buy my action bars and be done with it.
  9. I find a lot of international players playing on the English servers. This is fine, but what's not is that they outright refuse to speak in English. Why does this matter? Because it's damn aggravating. When I pick a specific server, I picked "English" because I can understand English, I didn't expect for there to be a wave of non sensical spam filling my chat windows. It's why I didn't go to "German" instead. Q: "Can't you just ignore them?" A: What, ignore all people who refuse to speak English and stick to their own language, ever, on that server, for all time? Do I really need to answer that? I don't even have global ignore to facilitate doing that in a timely fashion! Q: "The game is open to all of the EU, of course you have to expect some international players.." A: I'm fine with international players, as long as they're pleasant. But these new additions since F2P aren't. They fill my chat box with spam, if I ever ask if they can speak English (and henceforth stop this stream of nonsensical spam), I get constantly harassed. I was told today that I was a "fat American" and that my sister were to be *****. I understand that there's no real facilitation for these new players, but I'm a subscriber and more importantly, a founder. I paid in order to get rid of these inconveniences, but now I feel even more powerless over them. Q: "You're just racist!" A: Racisim is a term which addresses race. As in, a genetic aspect which cannot be changed. Language is not one of them. I understand that there's going to be players which can't speak English at all, however, and I'm curious as to whether or not TOR is going to facilitate them, or I'm just expected to put up with this. Q: "Yeah, well, what if I came in and told you to speak Russian?!" A: This is a weak argument. I would understand it if I had joined a primarily Russian speaking server once the game had gone F2P (and only then) and then tried to enforce my own values in that community, but that's just not what's happening here. You're trying to integrate into the already existing community on that server, not I. Q: "Well, you can always leave!" A: but I don't want to leave. I want to play without all the unnecessary ********. It's why I subscribed. It's why I'm writing this thread right now. Can't we give the Polish/Russains their own servers? Or just have a server named "International"? Perhaps something to filter out non-english languages? Something? Anything? Also, that Q & A bit is there because I know people will simply revert to them and ignore this thread. I want to know if there's anything that is being done to assist people in my position and give them more power over this kind of ****. BAH RAGE
  10. How awesome would a rainbow colour crystal be? Just something that encompasses all of the colours of the spectrum and a white glow around the saber. Maybe we could have the little trail behind the saber be pink and sparkly instead of just white. Ack, I want it. ;_;
  11. Only races inside the Star Wars universe. There. I stated. :<
  12. More races would be swell. It might be some nice content for subscribers since race is generally simply a cosmetic change than anything and doesn't really hamper the game at all. I think a lot of people would love to play as one of the alternative races, and really, for the cost of adding the ability to make a character as a different model and throw in some varied customization.. I'd like to play a Selonian, honestly. Amarans, maybe? What would you like to play?
  13. They hit the nail on the head with this article. EA is constantly tripping up with TOR and it's just.. sad, really. Or aggravating. I can't decide, yet.
  14. I'm not saying that they don't have the right to do as they do - I'm simply saying that there's a bound to be a better way to handle it, something that is more effective and more rewarding for all parties involved. The wall of text that I introduced with is a critique of the method that is currently used, simply. Secondly, you appear to assume that I wish to stop playing, or that I'm throwing my toys out of the pram. No, this is merely a critique. Or am I not allowed to complain?
