  1. Alrighty guess its time to do something else. These guys are getting coffee or taking a "smoke break" or something. Peace.
  2. That is them giving up. But yes I suppose that is less hosed up. That would also probably work here as well if you consider it being a free market model.
  3. This is nothing new. It's a sound strategy to get people to resub again.
  4. Dare i suggest, the solution to this problem is relatively simple to automate. It just requires a more complex programming of if/then filters to more rapidly target and contain a spammer. If they put a cooldown on the level 60 token refunding if a character is deleted, that would do it. I've seen games that require you to delete a character, and then that character is put into a suspended status for 24 hours. After 24 hours the character must be confirmed to actually finally be deleted. This means the spammers cant keep rerolling a new character outside of the automated systems parameters utilizing the free lvl 60 token, or rather i say, abusing it. There, I've told you exactly what you need to implement. there's your solution. Go do stuff.
  5. From what i'm seeing, I would surmise that the spammers have simply figured out all their super secret automated defenses and work around it with one account. It likely goes something along the lines of, the automated system compiles the list of all reported spammers within a set period of time. So the spammers simply create a character, delete the character committing the offense before the automated system can tag them, rinse and repeat.
  6. Regardless, my point is i'm acknowledging that, at the very least, they simply don't care. You're implying that they have interest in letting it go, which is even worse. We would be speculating on that. Regardless, this is piss poor business practice.
  7. Guys, if you actually took the time to READ the description and details of each of your companions and contacts, it does EXACTLY that! The only thing you cant see is the decisions you have made towards Valkorian. But if you recall those decisions and read through your companions responses to those you can map it out. While I understand this requires a little "effort", pardon me for saying DEAL WITH IT. No they should NOT simplify the whole dialogue to make it "easier" for your lazy selves. The information you seek is there.....you just don't care enough to find it.
  8. I just want to let BW know that I have finally gotten to the point that, there are SOOOO many credit spammers, that both reporting them AND ignoring them is too much work. I've come to the conclusion that no matter how many times i report them, YOU FAIL TO CONTAIN THE PROBLEM.... so i'll just ignore them. Me taking the extra 2 seconds to report the spam does NOTHING to solve the problem because your automated system designed to handle these things is quite simply easily defeated by the enemy. I'm not sure what's worse, though. The fact that you certainly know and have been more aware of this than I until now tells me that either you have given up, or you don't care. So which is it? Have you guys given up? Or did you just stop caring? Like i said, I can't decide which is worse.
  9. Dudebro, one thing I do know is that BW usually clamps down on multiple accounts on singular IPs.
  10. You know what makes me a little giddy? Knowing that in about 25 minutes they are going to extend this maintenance another 2 hours. BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  11. They should have come out with a WoW movie about 10 years ago. They didnt need to in order to continue growth. Now they are trying to promote growth by spending an absurd amount of cash money on a major CGI production that simply doesnt meet expectations.....that's because the guys allotting the money and running the business are completely out of touch with the end of line consumer. This is what happens when a business gets too big.
  12. Yes it is bigger, but notice how the US has a much greater GDP per person? That means there is more money in satisfying US customers over any other, period. If you don't like that, then go spend more money and make your position more valuable to macroeconomic enthusiasts. Americans spend more money than you do if you're not an american, by average. No debating that. That makes them more valuable customers.
  13. While I do understand your frustration, and agree with you to a certain extent, i would point out that: 1. I can list a load of games, even current MMORPGs, that have far more bugs than SWTOR. The best games even have a few. That doesnt mean that your position isnt warranted, though. The biggest problem I think lies in the fact that there are a number of bugs in SWTOR that have gone on far too long without any attention. 2. Yes, you are right on this point. This isn't the dev's fault though, this is BW's fault for choosing not to properly fund this project. 3. Each to their own on this, but I'm burned out on WoW. 4. Unfortunately, the people that might care that you leave the game don't have any clout. BW doesnt care about you as an individual any more than they do about anyone else. Noone can expect them to have the resources to make everyone happy all the time. That's just absurd. 5. I'm not sure of the accuracy of your numbers, but I still wouldnt argue this point either. Once again, don't blame the devs that are still on the project though. I think they are doing the best they can with what they have. I don't like it either, but I would file your complaints with BW as a company. Go buy a share or two of stock in EA and get involved. You would be surprised what you could accomplish if you took the time and effort....that is if you care enough. 6. It's obvious that SWTOR doesnt have the resources or experience required to provide the same customer service that WoW can on a maintenance note. All we can really do is enjoy the game as best as we can, man. I too am frustrated at times because of this sort of thing, but in the end my frustrations are only my problem. Not anyone elses, no matter how much a B and complain. Again, I understand and empathize with your frustrations and dissatisfaction. I wish I could provide a better answer, but I can't.
  14. That's because they don't completely understand what they are doing and what sort of impact that will have. Hand A is not talking to hand B, more than likely.
  15. Your argument fails at "you've made everything else easier why not this?" Way to encourage the problem to get worse. Thanks for that.
  16. I absolutely despise the change that made it require me to be in a pvp area or warzone just to track my pvp missions. Thats garbage.
  17. I'd say yes, this is most likely the issue. It's a problem with their ISP. Nothing they can control, however i'm sure they are racking on the ISP they do business with to get their stuff together. It may even be that their ISP is expanding the service, and BW is expecting brief disconnects such as this, but they feel no need to tell us about it.
  18. They haven't given up on this game. They just arent going to put any more money into it until it warrants return. Meanwhile, they will just pump as little money into it as necessary for it to continue to be profitable. Maintenance mode.....
  19. Here are a few things that I can think of that this means: 1. They are too busy working on something else to care about minor service interuptions. 2. They don't know what is causing the problem and they don't want to say anything to anyone about it until they have a direction. 3. They know what the problem is, but the fix is out of their control (ei an ISP issue). 4. They know what the problem is, but the fix is too costly and they are fighting through intercorporate redtape trying to get funding. 5. They know what the problem is, they are working on the fix, and are too busy to reply. 6. They know what the problem is, but do not want to discuss it publicly for security reasons. You're welcome to formulate your own theories as well, but I think that just about covers it.
  20. What they wont tell you is, that they don't see this game as being great enough to warrant any heavy funding for future development because the return would not, at the very least, cover the cost. No profit, no investment. I miss the days that companies would actually blow money on a reasonable chance to create something great. Now its all about economics. Very sad. If you're a stockholder of EA, complain to the board. That will get some attention.
