  2. It only makes sense that users who are not invested in the product anymore shouldn't have a say.
  3. 1) Tons of Re-playability - I can already tell at level 19 that I'm going to be rolling several more characters. I'm playing alongside my wife and her story choices, actions, and general character progression are so radically different from mine that I can't wait to roll my second "good-guy" character as opposed to my current sith inquisitor that hates on everything that moves. 2) Grouping is not only encouraged but rewarded! - Although I haven't discovered the real "use" of social points yet I'm excited that they can only be earned through group conversations which open up uniquely combined dialogs which lead to an even more distinguished sense-of-self and difference between you and your group mates which THEN leads to even longer lasting friendships and grouping opportunities later on. 3) Companions - In general! There are too many things to list but the fact that they allow you to make a choice between using them to help you in combat or professions is huge. I can now play the game the way I want to play it and not have to worry about days of farming mats but if I want a break from the usual killing sprees it's always there for me to do as well. 4) Datacrons - These will keep me exploring forever because unlike a lot of people, I don't look up the locations of these things online because I enjoy the hunt and the feeling of achievement when I find one. Finding my first datacron was relatively simple but the feeling will last with me the whole game of the sense of accomplishment from getting my second one and I'm constantly on the look-out. Granted I'm only level 19 so I'm sure more things will appear that I'm happy to have in SWTOR.
  4. My brain exploded from all the caps.
  5. It's been said that arguing against addons is fruitless and this is true. However depending on how rushed development might have been they may not have the infrastructure to allow for addons at this time. Given the success of this MMO already though I could see this as a long term (over a year possibly) goal.
  6. I can understand your frustration Woopya but this isn't just a ban hammer type solution. In most cases of botting and/or exploiting, tons of research goes into how they're doing it from a technical standpoint so that it can be prevented in the future. Think of it like a sting operation... they want to make sure they get all the information before they storm the house so that not only will they catch the guy but they'll catch all of his known associates, know the safe houses, where the money is at, etc... I hope that knowing this helps a little. source: working in game industry (including MMOs)
  7. How would you call going F2P surviving the wow stomping machine?
  8. OP reminds me of Kyle from south park writing his sincere letter to Cuba asking them to end their dictatorship.
  9. Really... this was a stupid angry post to begin with. "You shouldn't play MMOs," was in the freaking title and while this started out as a neat thread for people's opinions on finding groups for FPs and HMs (or lack-there-of) it has now spiraled out of control. Kill it please, it wishes to die.
  10. In your (or anyone else's opinion) is it worthwhile to get a guildmate to RE the low level greens into crafting materials to put on the GTN?
  11. This is the WoW trap haha. Now they're up to THREE difficulty levels * 2 for 10/25 mans. IMO, if you think that you keep having to tell people what to do at level 50 then you're not listening to their concerns or you simply don't understand them. I'm not level 50 so I can't really talk but I look forward to leveling my second character already based on the immersing story for my first.
  12. Other games typically have a dismantling/de-constructing mechanism for old gear that you don't need anymore to turn it into worth-while materials... does SWTOR have something similar? The Galactic Trade Network is pretty dead when it comes to people actually buying my greens from there.
  13. Anyone who plays (or has played) World of Warcraft knows what the LFD tools did to the community. While the tools may have accelerated the rate in which groups were formed and fun was had it was overall detrimental to the game because it gave more player access to things that maybe they weren't ready for. Not to mention the LFD anonymity led to an increasing amount of ragers and haters and even more elitists who just drove their hate-filled hearts straight into unwary dungeon noobs. I sincerely hope that a LFD tool isn't implemented because I have had nothing but good experiences in searching/forming/completing groups. Also, you should be able to get a good sense of your server's community based on how hard it is to find a group for your very first flash point. If the server is dead and your main hub is empty no matter when you play then you honestly should've re-rolled if it was that important to you.
