  1. Pacify/Obfuscate works perfectly fine in PvP, if you don't think it does then you're using it wrong. That or you expect to never be hit. 4 steps to success with Pacify/Obfuscate Read the ability Open your character window and read exactly what accuracy does for you Re-read the ability and try to understand how the ability works and which classes it works on Realize that it works perfectly fine, use it more
  2. At LEAST 1 in 5 matches when my buddy decides he's bored of healing and wants to DPS, No he doesn't play tracer spam spec. Bad mercs cry that the class is terrible, good mercs destroy things. So many people cry about their class on these forums, 1/100 (that's me being generous) of them actually take the time to learn how to play it.
  3. Did you actually do the rank 14 grind? It was a lot more than a time sink unless you played on a turd of a server. You actually had to win, and win a LOT , you couldn't just stand in a zerg of players to get your honor (Ilum). Add the politics and everything that wasn't PvPing but just as much of a part of the grind in there and it was not an enjoyable experience. The rewards were , but the process ...no. Knowing that if you missed one day of PvP that it could set you back a full week , at least, sucked. The last week of my grind I pulled in 1.5 million honor iirc simply because one person decided to be overzealous and play to much. Getting BM in this game is an absolute joke by comparison. S1 and 2 not having any requirement for the gear vs R14 is a terrible comparison. None of the R14 gear meant anything at 70 anyways. Now comparing the people who did it the real way aka actually earned it vs AV rank 14s aka kids who afked in the tunnel and still could top honor for the week , that would be a good comparison. All that being said, they should have a rating requirement for the WH gear. Let some of these kids who got BM , ran around pub stomping for a while thinking they're good actually have to earn the new set. 90% of the Bm's I've seen are complete trash which is why so many of them are crying about this.
  4. ^ This Although I will say, I still support needing a certain rating to purchase different pieces of gear. The gear means more if you actually have to be good enough to earn it, That and most people should be suited up in all / most BM by the time 1.2 comes out so there wont be any initial advantage gear wise. Then as top rated teams progress gear wise they'll still be fighting other players in comparable gear assuming the match making isn't terrible and you're fighting players +/- X rating.
  5. Your reading comprehension could use a lot of work, just sayin.

    Tracer Missile....

This is different from ranged classes in ANY other MMO how? Wait....it's the same thing , just a different ability. You also realize that any good merc/commando is doing more than spamming tracer/grav at you right? You only notice the tracer because it has a cast time and assume that's all they're doing. No I don't play a merc or a commando, but I also don't complain about something that's not a problem. God forbid a ranged class is standing...wait for it... at range..AND using abilities on you, next thing you know women will be able to vote and we'll have a black president.
  7. It's obvious they were talking about rateds also , isn't it?
  8. More than likely you will only get coms for winning OR (hopefully both) they will add rating requirements to the gear. Way to many people are being drama queens about all of this. TONS of people asked for competitive pvp , they give it to us and TONS more people cry about it before even seeing it first hand. Honestly , step back for a minute and imagine how these forums will look if they take the right approach and make it so you only get coms for wins, or better yet if you can only buy gear at a certain rating. The majority of people that I've seen in BM gear are terrible since it required nothing but time to get, those same people will cry up a storm that their BM gear didn't allow them to pub stomp people and win rateds so now they cant get the new gear. While I would personally find that hilarious, I doubt BW would enjoy it much.
  9. You didn't "earn" your Bm gear, you invested time to get it that's it, sorry to break it to you. You did not have to do ANYTHING besides invest time to acquire the rank . Funny that you say it's "easier" now, Ilum is STILL faster valor gain per hour if there are fights going on, the only thing 1.15 did was make WZ a viable alternative to zerg PvP. Your time invested in the game doesn't mean **** to BW, MMO's are all about time sinks, you either do them or you don't it's pretty much as simple as that. You getting pissed because BW is implementing a form of competitive PvP with rewards for doing it (competitive pvp that all that BM gear "should" help you with mind you) is comparable to getting pissed because you spent the time taking drivers ed in order to get your license only to come to the realization that you (unless you're spoiled) will have to work and purchase a car for it to mean anything. Lastly , god forbid people will be in comparable gear assuming they do well in rateds. Your precious advantage in pubs will be lost , what will you do.
  10. What most of you are forgetting is that you will most likely get significantly less coms for a loss than you will a win and you will most likely get more per win the higher rating you have (that's assuming it works like any other competitive PvP does) You will not be winning vs full BM teams in entry level gear / cent gear unless they're horrible and I mean horrible. Personally I think they should put rating requirements on the gear, however you would end up with 100x the amount of complaint threads simply because the majority of players couldn't reach the required rating. Most of you are completely blowing it out of proportion and looking for a reason to be pissed off about a system that you have no first hand experience with.
  11. It costs 1 rage, hence me saying inbetween fights you use the rage that would otherwise degrade and end up wasted to spam SS and build fury. It's major use in PvP is as a rage dump to build fury between fights, It doesn't hit hard enough to justify using for any other reason than to get multiple people off a node if they're clustered or as a rage dump.
  12. They're a necessary part of the game and dispels benefit you too, don't forget about that. Besides , you're damage doesn't completely go to **** if your dots get dispelled you're over reacting. You're dots should NOT make up 70% of your damage as annihilation, maybe 30% at best.
  13. Again, I cant tell you what you are doing wrong with out seeing you play. I can tell you that if your uptime on berserk isn't high you're losing a good chunk of damage. Any time you're not in a fight and have spare rage you should be spamming SS to build fury for the next fight. It could be a multitude of different things, from poor target selection, poor rotation etc etc etc. I'm just trying to point out some of the more obvious things to do, besides spamming SS (I see VERY few mara doing this btw) I can't really tell you many of the subtleties to my personal play style ,they're just things I do out of habbit /because they need to be done. If I could watch you play, I could try to give you more pointers on things you could do better. I would say just keep at it, see what works and what doesn't. Work on your overall damage uptime, zerk , blood lust when it's up and the situation calls for it, rage management etc etc.
  14. If you're paying attention to your own health you shouldn't need it, if you FC and wait out the duration when you're being focused and your healer needs to catch up that should be plenty unless your healer is bad / has people on them...in which case you're probably not catching heals regardless. I really don't see how you find avoiding them to be a problem, I also don't see why you would waste FC to go through fire when you can go around it just as easily.
  15. You always want to stack your rakata adrenal with your relic when ever they're both up, staggering them doesn't do you nearly as much good. Always prime deadly saber while you're in the air on the way to your target, when you land you can immediately battering into rupture or annihilate. Which you use is dependent on your target , when ever possible use anni first because it will refund rage meaning you can rupture right after with out having to use assault first. If you pick up enraged charge it doesn't matter which order you use them in. Focus on keeping your rage up and damage going out, your dots will take care of themselves if you mind your CDs. You shouldn't have to focus on keeping them up, you SHOULD focus on the duration of rupture (if you take seeping wounds) so you can apply crip slash before it wears off.
  16. Predation is one of your best abilities , putting points in ferocity is most certainly a good idea. Predation has TONS of uses and while the 30% may not be a life saver it is most certainly extremely useful. In an average WZ I use it at least 10 times, at least. I still have plenty of fury to throw around for berserk and bloodthirst any time I need them too. Like someone else said, any time you're not fighting and have spare rage you should be spamming sweeping slash to build fury stacks. It lasts far longer than rage does and you can do a lot more with 30 stacks of fury than 5 rage that will end up being wasted. Also the 2 points in force camo are a waste , put those points somewhere else.
  17. I don't think you understand what a support class actually is, because what you described is not support. Also if you're not assisting on kill targets , at least putting deadly throw on them before you peel off to kill its healer you're doing something very wrong. Our burst is fine if you know how to burst as annihilation, would I complain if they increased it ? No. But it doesn't "need" to be increased at all , chunking off 50% of someones health is pretty solid if you ask me.
  18. Payback isn't worth the points it takes to get up to it, those points could be spent better elsewhere which is the point he was making. A 2.5k heal is really negligible in the long run, one that you can only use it if you're cc'ed and it's once every 2 minutes vs something that will give you a much more consistent benefit.
  19. Not to undermine your suggestion, but defensive roll is not worth the 2 points. There simply isn't enough AE in team fights to justify taking it. I've tried it , and you honestly wont notice not having it, the major thing it helps with is rage/focus spec jugg/guardians. Those two points would be much better allocated in enraged charge or ferocity.
  20. Erm as annihilation you aren't going to be seeing huge numbers on anything besides annihilate , it's about doing very good sustained damage with burst mixed in. I can get my deadly saber to crit for 1600ish at 3 stacks and I think my ruptures are around 450-500, annihilates are critting anywhere from 3900-4900 depending on the gear the person I'm fighting is in and if I have relic / adrenal popped, screams are 2500ish. Like I said before you're doing something wrong in your rotation or you're not using zerk properly. Between fights (Like running from A -B after a fight, not the second someone dies) you should be spamming sweeping slash to convert rage that would end up dissipating if not used into fury which lasts much longer. You can keep fury at 30 stacks a huge portion of the time by doing this, meaning you start most fights with 30 or you reach 30 very fast. You might very well be an experienced PvPer but believe it or not marauders have a pretty high skill cap. The difference between an average mara and a good mara is pretty huge, I've trashed full BM mara using full cent + champ weapons by out playing them. Basically what I'm saying here is that you may be expecting the gear / class to carry too much weight in PvP without realizing just how much work goes into playing this particular class really well.
  21. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bIrRbRMcGzZhMbZh.1 is the spec that I currently have, the 2 points in enraged charge are imo better spent in ferocity making it 33/5/3. I wanted to see how I felt about enraged charge , it's helpful but in no way needed where as 30% increased speed on predation is fantastic in every way. I personally take seeping wound because its either that or blurred speed to get to t4 and I think 3 seconds off charge isn't necessary. It's been very few and far between where those 3 seconds are a game breaker. It also helps you get into your core rotation faster while applying a slow simply by using part of said rotation , charge > deadly saber > battering > anni / rupture depending on the situation > anni / rupture depending on what you did previously > crip slash. With globals / rage requirements you should be applying crippling slash right around the time your rupture is wearing off baring you don't get knocked back etc etc. I played rage a lot while leveling , however at 50 it's pretty laughable. If you know what you're doing you can bug peoples smash out very easily , besides that in between bursts your damage bottoms out horribly. Vs any competent healer, your force crush wont stay on long enough to get you 2 stacks of shockwave .
  22. Fraps is very straight forward , as far as using vegas or anything else to render the fraps footage ...you can find tutorials all over youtube explaining anything you need to know. In full champ damage shouldn't be an issue but again I don't think anyone can tell you areas that you need to change/improve on without actually seeing you play.
  23. I very rarely do under 300k damage in any of the 3 warzones unless I'm defending a node that no one comes to in alderaan or if I end up running the ball a lot in huttball. Hell I was doing 250-350k wearing full cent with champ weapons. I'm not sure if you're undergeared, not using your abilities properly , have a poor spec or what but if you feel like mara are underpowered you're doing something wrong. They are far from overpowered though , in fact they're in a pretty damn good place. The people that think they need buffs are undergeared or do not know how to play the class to its potential, those that think they need nerfs probably have no idea how to fight a marauder and just get rolled. Just remember its a warrior class, they almost always feel lack luster until you get gear, it's part of what balances them. With out actually seeing you play at all, I honestly don't think anyone will be able to help you properly but I can tell you for a fact that if you think we're a support class you're doing something extremely wrong. Yes we have some fantastic group buffs, but that's about 1/10th of a marauders roll.
  24. You find it hard to manage your dots? They both last 6 seconds, if you're wasting roar when DoTs are up then that's something you need to fix. If you need to let one heal go through to waste 6 seconds of their shield then you should do it, you should have deadly throw up anyways so it wont set you back that far. If you waste roar for the sole purpose of stopping a kick after their shield drops (after you've wasted 15s not really doing anything to them) you're doing something extremely wrong. Any good commando / merc will make you pay for it by laughing at you while you don't kill them. Also if you NEED to use roar to kick a heal , you're doing something wrong.
