The same could be said of appearance, so tell me if BW suddenly decided that there where too many of your chosen race or appearance and forced you to change it would you be happy about it? For me at least, my toons name is as much a part of my toons identity as his appearance and i refuse to change it. As mentioned above, for now, my toons will languish in their desolation alone on their dead server until something is done to correct the issue, if nothing is done or a forced server transfer is thrust upon me, I, as a paying customer will simply without fuss or pomp regretfully unsubscribe and take my business elsewhere.

TLDR: Ok so what's the next step on this seemingly random server transfer/merger project of yours? My server was just announced as an Origin server and has just gone from a moderately populated server to being like a scene from "I Am Legend" but im not moving and refuse to do so! So i want to know what is next for the Origin Servers? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes im one of those sad people who will not give up their name... Prior to launch BW announced that the earlier you pre-order to earlier you will gain access to the game during the Early Access period, knowing the early bird gets the worm when it comes to names in MMOs and wanting to use the names i have used all along my long and sad MMO history (starting from beta SWG), I immediately pre-ordered to give myself the very best chances. I examined the classes and chose the names i wanted for each and booked the time off work. My preparation paid off and i was in the first batch of early access and was lucky enough to get each and every name i wanted. I was over joyed!... ...Hydian Way was just announced as an Origin server and the Destination server has none of my names! So my options are, stay on a dead server or go where im being told to go too losing all the names i worked so hard to secure in the process whilst being expected to be happy about it! I aint using Alt Codes or Foreign letters to mimic my desired names either. For the first time ever I am seriously genuinely disappointing with BW for not having the foresight to see that this would be an issue and to create some workaround, they worked so hard at the server transfer software could they have not altered the naming policy in some way to allow for this!? I will not move, i'd rather unsub. For now i will hang in hoping against hope that BW pulls some master stroke that will cater for the small number of sad geeks like myself who see their toon name as part of their toons identity and refuse to give it up without a fight! I worked really hard to ensure i had the best possible chance of getting the names i had pre-selected prior to launch (in fact the same names i have always used throughout my long MMO history). BW stated that the earlier you pre-order the earlier you will gain access and therefore the better the chances of getting the names you want. So i pre-ordered immediately, i booked the time off work for early access and my preparation paid off, i got each of the names i wanted and was overjoyed! All that has been undone with this server transfer bungle Hydian Way (one of the first few early access servers created) has been designated an Origin server and the Destination server has none of the names I worked so hard to get. You can say im sad, you can go on about how it's just a name etc, i dont care, it means something to me, it's a huge part of my toons identity and i refuse to use stupid alt characters or foreign letters to try and give the appearance of the name which has now been lost. I WILL NOT MOVE! If forced transfers are the next move I promise you right now that as your customer will take my business elsewhere. BW you have for the first time truly disappointed me with this lack of forethought! Why could you have not altered the naming system, to cater of this sort of naming conflict!? You knew that server merges where on the cards after you created far too many servers post launch ! Again, not that you give a damn, I am really annoyed over this!

Do you have any plans to rework the take off and landing cut scenes and their sequence? Often my ship flies through a building or simply vanishes upon take off and the fact that my ship takes off and lands whilst i'm standing in the airlock is a tad strange.

Personally i will be furious if my server (Hydian Way) is selected to be an Origin server. I have used the same toon names throughout my MMO history, using the same names is important to me, knowing this i planned ahead to ensure i'd be able to get in the game early to "register" them. To this end I pre-ordered SWTOR straight away as it was announced that the earlier you pre-order the earlier your access to the game will be. I booked time off work so i would at my PC ready to roll as soon as the server was opened. I chose the names i wanted for each class ahead of time. And as soon as i was able to log in I immediately "registered" all my toon's names. As you can see i went to great pains to get the names i wanted for my toon's and now im faced with losing them all due to the BW's poor server management at launch and them now being faced with an over abundance of servers. I dont buy into this being labeled as an "optional" server transfer either, those who refuse to move server will be left in a ghost town which I presume will be either closed or forced merged with another server. I am furious with BW over this.

So they arent optional transfers then really. You either move now or are threatened with deletion later on. I understand that there are people who arent having fun because they are on low pop servers but i must admit im rather annoyed that i am faced with the loss of my carefully selected toon names! I have always used the same toon names throughout my long MMO history, right from the early days of SWG, through LOTRO, EVE, RIFT and STO. I dont mind admitting that once i found out my servers launch date I booked the time off work so i could log on as soon as they opened it up so i could reserve my names, I had planned it and it came off beautifully! Now im faced with losing them due to BW's server mismanagement during launch and their lackluster Server Transfer system. Im annoyed BW!

Ok so free transfers are available from Origin Servers to Destination Servers. My question is, has anything official been announced as to the fate of the Origin Servers? No doubt there will be people who refuse to move from their Origin Server, I probably will be one of them if my server (Hydian Way) is announced to be a Origin Server, due to the fact that i went to great pains to secure the names of my toons and i dont want to lose them. So im wondering if once all the optional server transfers have taken place, will BW then force server transfers so that they can close them down. I've looked through the official FAQ and cant see any hint of the long term game plan for Origin servers.

I'm glad you all agree, i'd love to see this added, and whilst im not a developer, so cant speak from experience, i think this would be quite a simple addition but one with a big impact. If this post appears on their radar i'd love some feedback as to why this wasnt added.

To be honest im suprised its not there anyway. The master apprentice theme is as strong in the movies as the father/son one.

Is there any way we can get the options to have our alts as the "Master" or "Apprentice" of the other in the Legacy "Family Tree" window? Cheers

Having the options to have our toons related in the Legacy system is great, being able to have them as a Sibling, Ally, Spouse, Child or Adopted Child is very cool, but i'd love to see the options for "Master" and "Apprentice" added. Is this something that was considered and rejected? Cheers
