  1. This tactic work only against snipers, every class who has instant attacks on the move can easily chase a sage.

     

    I have the privilege of playing with some of the best players this game has ever seen. I have dueled them, and i made that statement regarding sorcerers performance based on that experience.

     

    But if you would rather say that the #1 team EU are bad players, than think of the possibility that you are just bad? well then that is your choice.

    Look in WZ and RWZ you need to kill and heal fast, hiding all the time in the corners is just silly for the whole team.

     

    There are quite a few dps sorcs and healers at 2400+ rating.

  2. Sorcs before 1.2 were better, dunno why they nerf this class. Sages need some options to kite Powertech. Currently Sage vs PT is a one goal game.

     

    To be able to kite a PT sages need to be able to cast Telekinetic throw on the move - this is only one way to stay from PT more than 10 meters distance. Another option to improve sage kiting is to give them an ability to make sage immune for roots and slow for 10 seconds on low cooldown like 45 sec, it would be nice this ability will be off GCD.

    If any line of sight is available the only thing that is difficult (but not impossible) to beat in 1v1 as a DPS sorc, is tank assassins in dps gear.

     

    Please learn to play, it doesn't have to be sorc... learn to play any class. Then maybe you would not make such ridiculous requests.

  3. You are kidding me, no burst, very squishy, bad mobility, long cast times, really strong class.

     

    I kid you not. Quite a few 2400+ rated dps sorcs and healers.... and they are not even pro-level ... yet. I've played with them, and against them.

     

    The only reason the #1 team in Europe does not run a sorc in its main team setup (we do when we use replacements)... is because the best dps sorc in the world is unnavaiable, he has to play as the best concealment operative in the world.

  4. I see sage/sorcs get 6K heals all the time, and surgical probe can't be spammed unless you get TA procs (and only 3 of them max) before 1.3 my surgical probe topped out at 3500+ but now barely breaks 3000+.

     

    First of all even with a good score of alacrity Dark infusion is still ~2.2 seconds... and can be pushed back to increase casting time and /or just interrupted.

     

    So surgical probe is 3k heal /gcd ... while dark infusion is 6k heal / 1 gcd and a half. so.... 3k vs 4.5k heal.

     

    Except that surgical probe has a cost of 0 on targets under 30%, this is what people are referring to it being spamable.

     

    So yes, in a scenario where nobody bothers the healers, sorc > operative... and that is not going to happen in pvp.

     

    In pvp operative >sorc, because surgical probe does not suffer all the weaknesses of dark infusion aka.. long casting time and interruptable, not being able to run while casting.. and resource constraints.

     

    However, since you need 2 healers to be effective in rwz, stacking same healer class is ineffective due to their mechanics. In every scenario and team composition, the healers in the team NOT being the same class makes the team stronger exponentially.

     

    Different classes are different, that is not a bad thing, it just mean you need to adjust your play style.

  5. Operative/Scoundrel DPS specs are abysmal. Absolutely gimped and they do nothing better than any other class does except die. Not wanted for RWZs OR HMs the state these classes are in is pathetic. No gap closer, no pull, no utility... It is inexcusable to leave a class in this state for this long. BW you need to do some hotfix BUFFS to these two classes. Considering how ridiculous mara/sent and powertech/vanguards are you owe ops/sco some serious buffs.

    sadly that there is a guild that tolerated cheaters in their ranks..

    Just be warned that «Warmongers» guild at ToFN server have cheaters..

     

    Ok. next time i surely will report them when i see such behavior..

     

    Mind trap and lift can be dispelled by sorc /sages and they break on dots.... and juggs have http://www.torhead.com/ability/gUpzuGT/unstoppable

     

    But i am sure someone who doesn't know how many cc breaks classes have (or their cooldown) has a profound understanding of the game and its mechanics. Not to mention spread misinformation.:rolleyes:

    When you stop making ridiculous requests, and when you gain enough understanding of your class and others and pvp in general ... so that when you come back to revisit your previous requests there will be no "facepalm .gif" big enough to express what you will feel at that moment.

  8. Beckpedaling wont make u vulnerable against backstabs. Strafing makes ur back open.

    Backpedalling is valid in some cases, if you turn your back to a melee, they're going to do more damage to you and you're only going to die faster.

     

    Who says you have to turn your back to him when you strafe in any direction ? L2 strafe .

  9. an easy adjustment to this whole resolve issue is to put the cc-break that every class has on a 10 second cooldown. That, or make the cc-break give 10 seconds of cc immunity (including roots/snares) after being used. this change wouldnt affect PVE much, if at all either.

     

    With the amount of cc in this game, a 2 minute cooldown on the cc-breaker is just insulting.

     

    You sir, have lost the privilege of being taken serious on the pvp forums.

    No, its logic.

     

    You have to be realistic and try and make sure the goals you are working towards are achievable. Otherwise you are just wasting your time and end up with a big mess where neither PvP nor PvE is balanced.

     

    Look at WoW, a couple of times they had a good thing going or at least they were heading the right way... but then they gave in to forum qq-ers to make every spec the same (because of PvE ofc:rolleyes:) without regards to other factors the classes had and dug themselves so deep... that nothing can save that game now, regarding PvP. And PvE is not particularly balanced either.

  11. While the majority of this thread has been quite amusing, this point if none other is spot on. 99% of "Balance/Wish/Change" threads for Classes/Mechanics/etc are absolutely ridiculous because they only think about PVP or PVE Balance and don't think about Game Balance.

     

    They are like 2 separate games.

     

    And you can balance pvp without worrying about pve, because PvE is an outside factor to PvP balance but the opposite is not true. You can nerf NPC's and design encounters without affecting pvp balance, but you can not nerf/buff classes without affecting PvE.

     

    Also that is why classes who are not designed solely for damage, have a predominant pvp spec and a predominant pve spec.

     

    You design pvp around 1 talent tree, and pve around another. For example look at:

     

    sorcs : Madness or hybrid spec for PvP ... lightning for PvE

    Mercs: Pyro for PvP.........-> arsenal for PvE

    Operatives : concealment PvP --> lethality PvE

     

    etc.

  13. It just amazes me that after almost 20 years of MMOs with PvP that game designers haven't yet figured out that CC pisses people off.

     

    I think those people should stick to PvE.

    Oh, we... ; I care about balance, about ACTUAL balance... balance that considers every single thing a class brings to the table across all strategy and tactics in RWZ.

     

    Focusing in equalizing just 1 or 2 or 3 or w/e factors and not take into consideration the other DOZEN of factors in the balancing "equation" is NOT balance.

     

    Do, you need me to re-quote your fail reason that you should balance classes in PvP around 1 factor because of PvE?:rolleyes:

    CC falls under mobility/uptime.

    Only if the game were 1v1. and/or all cc was identical and/or there was no range in the game

    Off-heals falls under mitigation.

    Mitigation prevents damage, healing directly counters it.

    Taunts fall under the mitigation provided to the team, afterall, this is team game.

    You have double standards for different game mechanics.

    Stealth does mitigate damage, because you can't be targeted while stealthed.

    Aoe damage.

    You have a brain. Use it.

     

    Take your own advice and stop spreading fail over the forum based on the observations of solo q pvp, and probably 1200 rating rwz.

  17. You are forgetting CC, utility... off-heals (-off role), taunts CLASS SYNERGY ->etc.

     

    And taunts do not fall under mitigation because it has no effect on ppl attacking you.

     

    Stealth does not mitigate damage... etc.

     

    Got beat down and proved wrong across multiple threads, and every time u pick up your toys and take your bad theories in another thread?

  18. Not same, but having a specc that is a "lone wolf" by design when designers when discussing PvP back in the day made a point that this game's PvP is all about team work and lone-wolfing around would get you pretty much nowhere is a damned contradiction.

    And it needs to change.

     

    It is designed for small scale fights at the 3rd node. (the second node being where the bigger fight is)

     

    Not to say, they can't function in larger groups... but in larger groups its role is assist key target burst. Less glamorous than being in your enemies face as front line.

  20. Lets take this to the ridiculous level and be realistic. Peckenpaugh doesn't understand balance. We should call for him to be "let go" or to "resign" like most of the other failed devs of this game.

     

    It is sad, because that quote from him, is exactly what balance is.

     

    IF all classes had same burst and dps, then classes who could off-heal .. go invisible, have a lot of cc and utility, would be incredibly overpowered vs classes that can only do damage.
