  1. Someone who gets it.......TY for understanding!!!
  2. Doesn't need incentive ha lol....It's this kind of thinking that will keep swtor from being great!.... It's this kind of thinking which lead swtor when first released to debut with 90 servers (complete stupidity)...Love alone won't keep this game around, but great IDEAS will....Like I said in my original post, something is better than nothing
  3. As it stands, there is no incentive for a player to engage in open world PVP...you kill a player from the opposing faction and basically get nothing for it, which makes the whole experience seem meaningless. To correct this, the developers should award a victorious player with 5 WZ commendations. To prevent ganking, if a player kills a player below his or her level then that player loses 5 WZ commendations from their total. Something is better than nothing and unfortunately Bioware has chosen to go with nothing in this aspect of the game. Another thing that could be added to further fuel this dynamic of the game is guild rankings. Imagine a guild ranking system in which the total amount of each guild members WZ recommendations plus Ultimate Commendations would determine that Guilds ranking (of course in order to accomplish this there could be no cap on these specific commendations). So basically the guild who has the most combined commendations at the end of a 30 day cycle would be the top ranked guild for that particular month.
  4. Faction population capped - strict balancing in place between faction populations in objective areas. Factions claim objectives. This can take place in the form of a weekly war or something, first x amount of players Vs. the opposing faction. Winner gets to invade either coruscant or dromund kass
  5. Don't want to lose control of the ship....make strong alliances and recruit active players....but remember no one is suppose to keep control of the ship forever anyway.....and if your a lowbie getting ganked, heres a solution make some friends to assist you along the way, that's what Guilds are for!!!....Unfortunately modern gamers want their hands held from point A through Z and cry when things don't go their way. I mean seriously 3 weeks to do a single quest, who are you kidding, it takes about that long to get lvl 55 in this game!!! Ummm if ganking will break you instead of making you great...there are always PVE servers...
  6. Last I checked there isn't an area where a Republic Guild can go up against another Republic Guild...nor is there a way to communicate with IMP's....it's not about having things spoon feed, the necessary tools to do some of the things you mentioned are not in place.... SWTOR IS AN AMUSEMENT/THEME PARK MMO LACKING OF ANY SANDBOX ELEMENTS AT THIS POINT! Where have you been>?
  7. Another possible way to promote a true rivalry between Guilds/Factions could be Guild Rankings... So how would this be established you ask? Well it could be done by a combination of factors... First it could be established by how much PVE content a particular guild has completed (FLASHPOINTS, OPS, DAILIES, ETC...) Second it could be established by a system of nation points, which players would earn in WZ's and in open world pvp area's....Play a WZ match and receive a certain amount of nation points as opposed to comm's for instance....Kill a member of the opposite faction in open world and you would also receive a certain amount of nation points.... Each guild members Total nation points would then be added up to determine that particular Guild's ranking.... This in turn would give players more incentive to actually engage members of the opposite faction in an open world environment and would make WZ's a whole lot more meaningful....as WZ's currently stand, there only real purpose is to earn comm's to get better PVP gear but what about the player who already has the best PVP gear? A player who falls in this classification basically has no real in-game incentive to continue playing warzone's which is not a good thing!
  8. Well simple...if the defending guild is not on they lose the ship...don't want to lose it be more active or create an alliance with another guild to help defend... I agree PVP doesn't make an MMO but it is a standard in almost every MMO...What swtor has in place thus far feels like an experiment and not a truly fleshed out PVP experience....I've played 8 bit mmos with more creative ideas than swtor....Unfortunately their are a lot of players and posters who constantly dismiss good ideas for arguments sake....ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE...and at this point I'd take something fresh/creative over nothing....its very obvious than no thought was put into PVP....PVP in swtor was definitely something BIOWARE/EA worked on in the 24th hour and it SHOWS ......
  9. Another possible way to promote a true rivalry between Guilds/Factions could be Guild Rankings...
  10. I have become dissatisfied with the current ideology of endgame amusement park grinds for gear via operation/flashpoints/reputation. I suggest bringing a sandbox element to endgame play that has actual consequences. I couldn't agree more with this sentiment....unfortunately there is no war or true rivalry in this particular MMO...why BIOWARE/EA continually avoid and run from this facet of the game is beyond me.... It could be simpler than that. In concept, the devs could set up world events on multiple planets which would take place simultaniously, or staggered. Regardless, these events could, in theory, rotate around the clock and be deemed ...as ...oh I don't know... a war for planetary control in the galaxy (imagine, a galaxy that is at war ...for real) It could be made 15 V 15 25 V 25 30 V 30 (as an example). These events could take place on a rotating timer where the winner "controls" the planet for the duration until the next event opens. It could be different kinds of objective based events (make them exclusive to the kind of planet the event takes place on). The area of control could also have unique dailies and objectives if the faction controls the area between the events. AND don't forget unique rewards, items, and gear skins for each planet for you to work to achieve. Could you imagine if you could have a daily/weekly rotations of who "controls" what planets each week?
  11. I have a 100 valor on one of my characters and guess what that gets me, SQUAT!!!! Valor fails to have any meaningful purpose after you get it up to about 60, after 60 there really is no point to get it pass that. 100 valor which equals a whole lot of WZ play should benefit the player in some way or form. Exceptional PVP gear or something else needs to be available for a player who achieves the feat of gaining 100 valor.
  12. In my opinion, you shouldn't be able to gain XP in a WZ. This could also help solve the problem of players entering a wz with no real desire to win...
  13. 1.) A true battle for the galaxy....Some kind of PVP event which gives each faction incentive to battle it out. As the game stands now there no is no real sense of rivalry between the factions. This is further compounded by the fact that players can create characters on either side on the same server (big mistake in my opinion). In my opinion players should be limited to a particular side on a server this would have many positive benefits and increase the rivalry between factions even further. The devs could set up world events on multiple planets which would take place simultaniously, or staggered. Regardless, these events could, in theory, rotate around the clock and be deemed ...as ...oh I dont know... a war for planetary conTrol in the galaxy (imagine, a galaxy that is at war ...for real) It could be made 15 V 15 25 V 25 30 V 30 (as an example). These events could take place on a rotating timer where the winner "controls" the planet for the duration until THe next event opens. There could be different kinds of objective based events (make them exclusive to the kind of planet the event takes place on). The area of control could also have unique dailies and objectives if the faction controls the area between the events. AND don't forget unique rewards, items, and gear skins for each planet for you to work to achieve. Could you imagine if you could have a daily/weekly rotations of who "controls" what planets each week? 2.) Pazaak - There should be a pazaak table at each and every Catina in which players can either wager credits or items. Cantinas in their current state are useless and are currently a waste of real estate. If each Catina Pazaak table was unique in some kind of way (How much credits can be wagered or what kind of items can be wagered could vary from planet to planet), this would draw players to each and every planet and actually encourage space travel and increase the population of many planets (some players would actually have to leave fleet ). 3.) Conduct focus groups - sometimes i wonder if the developers are actually playing the game they are selling us or even truly thinking about some of the decisions being made. The Cartel Market for instance and many of the featured items there are downright laughable. I often wonder who is making the decisions regarding some of the available items and how they were able to convince BIOWARE/EA that the particular item is something players would want. There are just too many things the exist in the star wars universe that could be added to swtor as opposed to a mount that's looks like its out of a TRON movie....Developers please watch the movies, clone wars so that you can understand that Star Wars has a consistent theme and style that it is you guys job to maintain....
  14. what if the devs could set up world events on multiple planets which would take place simultaniously, or staggered. Regardless, these events could, in theory, rotate around the clock and be deemed ...as ...oh I dont know... a war for planetary conrol in the galaxy (imagine, a galaxy that is at war ...for real) It could be made 15 V 15 25 V 25 30 V 30 (as an example). These events could take place on a rotating timer where the winner "controls" the planet for the duration until hte next event opens. It could be different kinds of objective based events (make them exclusive to the kind of planet the event takes place on). The area of control could also have unique dailies and objectives if the faction conrols the area between the events. AND dont forget unique rewards, items, and gear skins for each planet for you to work to achieve. This is what I have imagined, of course the above can be fine tuned.....the point is, they need to address this as opposed to ignoring the issue entirely...
  15. Well if lowbie abuse is of your utmost concern, why not at least a weekly PVP event. 100 imp vs 100 republic possibly, first come first serve, reserved only for high level toons.....lowbie version could also be available.....Take a game like WOW for instance, does a great job of providing situations and circumstances for the different factions to clash in large numbers......This particular aspect is inherit in almost every MMO I have ever played, 6 Warzones does not achieve this element. I mean is this not Star Wars (or is it Star Battles now)???..... I have never played Call of Duty btw....
  16. I am on a PVP server....but there is no incentive to kill a member of the opposite faction in open world in anyway or form.....yea you'll annoy them a tad but at the end of the day that goes but only so far...I understand implementing an actual revamped PVP system would be a painstaking task at this point but developers could do something simple like reward players with 1 cartel market coin per kill or something to really create rivalry among the imps/republic...this is suppose to be WAR, WHEN YOU LEAVE A BASE ON A CONTESTED PLANET YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO FEEL AS IF YOU NEED TO BE CAUTIOUS...
  17. Amen....may the developers take this suggestion seriously....I don't think EA/BIOWARE fully realize what Pazaak would do for this game.... In my opinion Pazaak and an open world PVP system with incentives is the only thing keeping this game from being a complete gem....even the swtor haters would have to shut up!
  18. I agree that there is no incentive to pvp outside a wz but what if , the devs could set up world events on multiple planets which would take place simultaniously, or staggered. 19. open world pvp must be implemented This is standard stuff for every mmo, except Swtor I find it appalling that this has yet to become a reality this is but one of the reasons that swtor lacks tension Between factions....imps and republic working together.... Blahhhhhh.... this is suppose to be a war for the galaxy
  20. Catina's are useless... why no Pazaak? Pazaak could be the key to making catina's and attractive location for players... as it stands The catina's serve absolutely no purpose and are a waste of real Estate.......most players have played kotor and I'm sure would welcome the card game. SO CMON DEVELOPERS MAKE IT HAPPEN... LET PLAYERS BET ITEMS OR CREDITS... VEHICLE RACES/pod races should be available au every catina as well
  21. THE BELOW IS ACTUALLY AN IDEA FROM A OLD POST I PUT UP (WAS ANOTHER PLAYERS RESPONSE), BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE IDEA...WOULD BREATH FRESH LIFE INTO A GAME I LOVE DESPITE ALL ITS HANG UPS! It could be simpler than that. In concept, the devs could set up world events on multiple planets which would take place simultaniously, or staggered. 22. great idea!!! If implemented, this alone might keep me playing...lol Sad but true! something like this would build camaraderie and actually improve guild quality
  23. So many reasons for the downfall of SWTOR....sTORY AND immersion of GAME IS DOWNRIGHT SPECIAL....UNFORTUNATELY WHAT MOST COME TO EXPECT FROM AN MMORPG IS ABSENT... tHINGS LIKE GUILD RANKINGS, EVENTS, TRUE OPEN WORLD PVP, a simple battle arena where players can hone there skills against members of the same faction..... aN EXAMPLE OF HOW Guild Rankings COuld work in swtor - Players receive points for PVP kills - Total tally of ALL guild members points is what determines guild rank - Guild Flash points/Ops completion also determine Guild Ranking -Top Guilds Banners will decorate Republic Fleet for example/Top Guilds are Calculated on Monthly Basis - based on pvp points/Guild flash points. JUST AN IDEA, BUT SOMETHIGN SO SIMPLE CAN really TRANSform a game.....its all about imagination at the end of the day.....swtor has so many things in place that arent being utilizied yet.......
