  1. I'm using ZoneAlarm as firewall. This program asks me for approval each time a new program wants to connect to the internet. Each time ToR is patched, it is considered as a new program and the question is asked again. The problem is, that ZoneAlarms dialog box appears (or TRY to appear) during the loading-screen, while waiting for the music to start playing. Other programs/and games either let Zonealarm be on top, for easy access, or allow multitasking to reach it. But ToR don't let me do this. I can see that zonealarm has a dialog box open in the backgrund, since the cursor changes when hoovering where the box is, but the ToR loadingscreen is in the way, and I can't click it, neither multitask. So each patch, I have to start ToR, and when getting to the loading screen do a cold reboot of the computer, then manually enter zonealarm to let the new ToR client reach internet (this option appears first after that ToR have tried to reach internet). SO, my request is that you allow multitasking during the loading of the game, so I can let ToR access internet without rebooting after each new patch. Possibly that other firewalls don't creates this problem, but ToR is the only game I have that isn't compatible with zonealarm/multitask. So I believe the error is in ToR and not Zonealarm.
  2. When I approached the Inquisitor companion (the togruta on Taris) for the first time, some republic troopers close to her attacked me, and the togruta joined in, killing them. Although this was to my advantage, she is supposed to be a Republic Jedi and not corrupted by me yet, so it felt out of character. The cu-scene when speaking to her directly afterwards show her approaching the place where she already was. So a easy fix to this would be to replace the togruta with some kind of "meet the togruta here"-item. She won't fight the republic troops while not present, and will approach for conversation as usual when the dialog is triggered. I understand this is a minor "problem", but it looked cheap. Cheers =)
  3. If people should think that another species had more interesting species-quests then I see that more as a reason for re-play than a reason to not implement this. A similar though is that they could include quest's for the different groups/guild/factions you encounter as allies and enemies in the game. Like the Revanites. Like a quest when you find a dying Tusken raider who need his family honor to be saved, asking you to get a full gear of tusken clothes and act as him, trapping a Bantha, do some rite of passage so his family don't get viped out by the clan, because he failed. Etc. This could give some interesting aspects on how the character fits into the world. And if you actually could "join" some of these groups, become a pirate, temple guardian, royal guard and whatnot after completing these quests, all the better. New titles and gears, and ability to re-spawn, rest and pass though otherwise forbidden/dangerous areas.
  4. A lot of the time, you have to travel through a area where you already have finished the quests. This can be eliminating all enemies, destroy the reactors, show the inhabitants who is boss etc. You have gotten your reward and been told that the area is under control now. But when you re-enter it's like you never been there, since other players have the same quests to do there in the future. Sometimes this is "fixed" with barriers that prevent you from entering again, thus not see that it's reset. But in a lot of places you do. Suggestions: Keep the graphic for the changes you did in that area for your character. I don't know how the game is programmed. But hopefully it would be something like "0" = show active enemy turret, "1" = show destroyed enemy turret. So let the 0 apply for characters that haven't finished the quest. And let 1 apply for characters that have. Change "defeated" enemies from red to yellow in places where they logically would not attack you again after your quest. This could symbol that they have pledged alliance to your cause, are to scared to attack or simply that they actually isn't there anymore, but since you still could help other players with their quests, they have to be. But the option to not HAVE to fight them, when you already cleared the area helps a lot. Small fix for missions that can be replayed like heroic missions. Do a small change to the mission symbol on the map and over the quest-giver, so one can see that it's a quest already finished, but still there to repeat. I think these changes might help in the illusion that you actually give a impact on the world and changes things.
  5. SWToR is based on classes. It's very obvious; You choose class before species, you have your class-story, you have specific class-areas, hangers etc. I prefer to see the species as the characters basic. And letting their culture, planet and unique abilities guide them. So, wouldn't it be interesting to add quest-stories that follow the species you selected too? As a long side-quest. The Purebloods quest for more powerful positions in the Empire, the Rattakis lust for violence, the Twi'lek struggle against slavery, or whatever. More focus and backstory on each specie, and new locations that can be considered "home" for the specie. Might be to big to add a whole planet, but a smaller map to represent a area on the home planet, or at east a space station in orbit over that planet. This could be a fun way to put focus on more that classes. And a good opportunity to add a lot of new quests that will broaden the galaxy.
  6. The Jedi and the Sith have their codes on how to use the force. The bounty hunter have their guild-rules The trooper have military orders on how to act. Add these as early info/codex whatever for each class. It could help people get into character, or "understand" what they are playing. I don't say that you have to follow the rules, but it's nice to know how the world expect your class to react. As a bounty hunter I would like to know if I'm to soft, following the guild rules, or act as a madman when killing/not killing another bounty hunter over a bounty.
  7. /sign And same thing goes for landing. I always think it feels weird to open then hatch when I'm in space, and then see the ship land. No logic.
  8. Agree that Pazaak (and other mini-games) are needed. If "gambling" is a problem. Just add a hi-score ladder for players to see how they rank in the galaxy as a pazaak-player against all other players and some "famous" NPC:s. No money won, but still som fun and "status" to play pazaak.
  9. I simple suggestion to improve the "change floor" sequence when you press that blue button in a elevator and the screen goes black for a while, when loading a new floor; Keep the black screen, but add some red "bars" that light upp or fade out over or under each other to symbolise how the elevator is moving. Of course it is meant as a reference to the elevator i ROTJ when Vader is entering the throne room.
  10. I, like some others, think ROTS is the worst of the lot. Sure, it tries to be "darker" and tie together all ends. But I think it's done in a clumsy way. The main hate-object in TPM is Jar-jar Binks, but ROTS have General Grievous who is almost as anoying. He is a parody of bad-guy characters. Skull-face, cape and some kind of "foregin" dialact and sinister laughting. Sure, Vader has some of these traits too, but he had style. I Grievous case I just waited for him to say "I get you next time Gadget!" It's a shame though. He had a real ****** introduction in the Cartoon network clone wars. Another bad thing with him (and the prequels) is that he was more "the new movies bad guy" than a part of a bigger story. In the OT Jabba is mentioned in ANH and ESB and finally revealed in ROTJ. We get to know him before we see hi. Understand that he is dangerous. The PT had a new evil dude in each movie. Devil guy, Dracula guy and Skeleton Guy. To match the old movies Dark knight and evil wizard. ROTS had far to much slapstick. The entire first...20 minutes? Of the movie when saving Palpatine from Invisible hand was horrible. R2 ninja, Palpatine as a damsel in distress, the starship crash. The entire movie had wooden dialogue and was never fun to listen too. In the OT we see people who is driven by emotions and ambition, how the wing it and manages to fool a more powerful enemy, and makes some great suspension and humor while doing it. In the PT we see some people doing their work by acting ambassadors and generals. Talking, thinking, acting serious and never fear to lose. They know they are jedi and cant loose. Thus boring. ROTS had far to much lightsabers. To make something interesting you should save it for the right moments. The OT only had some brief lightsaberscenes, and you thought YES! Lightsaber!!! Here the lightsabers is used for fighting, torches, keys, grapplinghooks, shields and I don't know what. I got might tired of them. Less is more. Acting: All the PT have good actors. I have seen them in other movies, and I like most of them. But either they had bad directions, had problem with acting infront of a green screen, didn't believe in the movies or all of it. Alot of people like Palpatine in ROTS, I think he was awful. Like a parody of himself. Pooooweeeer! Raaaiiiise!!! I loved him in ROTJ and in TPM and AOTC, but ROTS was far to much. And mainly, unsatisfying "answers" and connections to the OT. Anakins turn to the dark side wasn't epic enough, and not convincing. Neither his attack on Padmé or how he lost the duel against Obi-Wan, and certainly not his "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Good things: Opera scene Anakin and Obi-Wans last scene as friends "I'm proud of you..." (or something like that) Attack/stride into Jedi temple Order 66 The symbolism of "throwing the entire senate on Yoda", but I didn't like the duel otherwise. Back at Tanative IV. The white walls was a welcome sight in the dark CGI-movie. Dual sunsets ending.
  11. I like the idea someone in the thread had, about pilot classes. More focus on space-missions, ships and ship-ugrades. More space stations to visit with small casinos and cantinas. And you can see your personal ship docked outside the windows. =) A non fighting/controller type class with good companions to defend him/her. Can be a scholar/lore seeker, with quests to complete the codex or something like that.
  12. That's no moon... it's a green smiley =D
  13. I prefer more open games, where you don't have to be a "class", but can choose more freely what you want to focus on. A Force-user with twin-blasters and a vibrolance who hates flying and is a good Pazaak player, or something =) But as things are, and if we should have more classes... Gambler (maybe close to smuggler, but more focus on bets and games) Sith trooper (like republic trooper but other side) Spy (the republic version of Imperial agent) Explorer (blasting new hyper lanes, mapping planets etc. The first class to unlock new planets or something) I would also prefer to have a "fringe" faction, so I dont have to choose republic or sith, but inbetween. Bounty Hunter and Smuggler should be there.
  14. When engaging enemies with my Sith Inquisitor, my big melee Dashade companion usually dashes into close combat and blocks the target from my force lightnings and other attacks. So an attempt to talk to my companion is activated instead of the attack (since I click on him instead of the target). This steals precious time in some tight battles. Is there a way to deal with this problem? Like turning off targeting of the companion or something? Guess there is no problem if your companion has ranged attacks, but this is might annoying.
  15. (Probably mentioned earlier in this thread) I guess they stick to near-human species so the possible romantic aspects in the game won't be too disturbing. So, even if I'd would like to see a lot of exotic species playable, I will stick to those species that I guess could fit with the near-human vision. Here is my list: PRIORITY * Cathar (feline) - Juhani * Falleen (green reptilian with pheromones) - Prince Xizor * Iktotchi (huge horns) - Saesee Tiin * Nautolan (green with multiple "lekku") - Kit Fisto * Togruta (red and white humanoid with "lekkus" - Shaak Ti, Ahsoka Tano SECONDARY * Chagrian (blue, human faces with long horns) - Mas Amedda * Devaronian ("devil") - Labria * Lannik (for the "short" players. Big ears) - Even Piell * Pau'an (tall "striped" humanoid) - Tion Medon STRETCHING (might be TOO alien) * Clawdite ("reptilian" shapeshifter. Would be cool if it for shorter time could mimic other races) - ZamWesell * Duros (no nose, big eyes, pretty near-human) - De Maal brothers, Cad Bane * Muun (long pale faces) - San Hill, Darth Plagueis * Weequay ("burned" face) - Ak-rev, Sora Bulq, Hondo Ohnaka
