  1. The biggest issue I have with this game is that it is so obvious how it is "divided" for factions and classes. Each two-faction-planet have zones that are for said faction. It is okay as long as you are on "your" side of the border. But when you are on the other side (not PVP, but the part that is designed for the other faction) it is a empty world, you can enter bases, camps and towns owned by "your" faction, but these are ghost-towns, you cant speak to anyone, cant bind to transports, shop etc. Since this is just a farming place for the other faction. Surely this could be fixed somehow? Either by simply expanding the PVP-borders so you can't enter these zones without being flagged. Should give some "logic" that you are in enemy territory and thus can't take missions, use transports etc. Or merge the zones more, let one faction get missions and buy stims at the same base the other faction is attacking. Right now you can even enter a enemy base, se the "bind here" and "transport" icons, even use them, but get a "not allowed" message. Either hide them, or allow us to use them. Same goes for class-areas. I understand that the game is designed for different class-stories, but it look pretty silly with red "barriers" that only a certain class can pass. Keep the barriers for your own class to see, but hide the other classes barriers with doors that wont open etc, things that you wouldn't think about, just pass by. Same goes for hangars. One hangar for each type of ship is pretty weird too. Just call them Docking bay 94 etc. And let a certain class always use the same one. "hide" that the game is divided. I think that a lot of tweaking like this could make the game feel more "real" and logic.
  2. Some more thoughts about these topics... Orbital stations Give them some functions. Cantina, mailbox, starship upgrades, planet-specific equippment, and more exotic species walking around, make it more alive, and show what planet it is orbiting by adding species from that planet, and creatures in cages etc. Shuttles Animation sequence when shuttle is launching to/from planet/station to show how it all is connected. Option to land on multiple places on planet when shuttles are discovered (I'm talking about the flashpoint shuttles, should be able to use them both from and to planet). Same idea as unlocking transport-stations. Transports (automatic speeders, mounts, airspeeders etc.) Double-lanes for transports so you wont "collide" with other transports. Option to "eject" from the transport in flight. This should include animation of transport crashing, damage on character (and companion) and a mail from transport company with a fee to pay for destroyed/lost transport. "Forbidden" areas could be instant death. Would be awesome if could look better when getting/leaving a transport too. Like, multiple transports aviable, and the one you take takes off, and after a while a new one lands or is brought forward from a garage or something. Same when landing. Free spot is required, so everyone will not land on each other.
  3. /agree too! And I have been thinking in the same direction as your second suggestion. I understand that some companions have a great part of your class story and can't be changed. But it would be very wizard (curse you Robot Chicken!!!) if you could recruit a mysterious companion in a hood and cape, and later buy companion customization thingie for it to select what species it is. It's very boring to see everyone running around with the same companion as each other. Like Khem Val, he is supposed to be a unique survivor of his species, yet I see hundreds of him. But if I could choose specie, gender, color etc like the OP suggests, the companion would add alot of flavor to the world/game.
  4. I think it's fixed now. Last patches no problem. ZoneAlarms dialog box appears over ToR loading screen when needed, so I can allow internet-access to ToR and login. Happy days! =)
  5. Ooh, some nice actors/voices in that list =) Clive Revell!!! Would have been nice if he voiced the Emperor in the game =) Julian Sands - Warlock Phil LaMarr - Hermes Conrad I was expecting to find Anthony Daniels And Cary Elves in the list, but must have been some other guys sounding similar to them.
  6. I think that a species-change (or any "rerolls") should be an option, at least in the future, if more species are added. BUT I still would like it to be as "logical" as possible. Thus changes that can be explained as barbershops, tatoo, surgery, implants etc. should be included as services in the ToR world. But changes like species, gender and age should work like it was another character. It keep it-s class and level (maybe lose 1/some level(s) as "payment"), and a new name is required. Thus the old character is retired and another has taken it's place, but works as if it had done all the same quests and choices as the last one. This would give us the freedom to change if we require, but still not turn the characters into shapeshifters. Now, if a new class is released, I believe we should have to make a new character to play it, since the game is built around classes and their levels, so no "rerolls" from Bounty Hunter, to Jedi Knight, to Imperial Agent to Smuggler. But I would love more freedom and options to make your character more unique by being able to train in new skills, for armor, weapons and the like. A Heavy armor smuggler, a dual blaster Sith warrior etc.
  7. I'd like to see both stuff you can buy to customize the ship and things to symbolize your progress in the game/world. This could include... Your speeders/pets in the cargo hold. Banners or something from the planets where you got commendations. Trophies from unique/epic enemies (like world bosses) Datacron library. And to make it a bit more "living", let the companions move around in the ship. Sit on different places. Playing holochess with eachother (and your character), fixing with random computers, resting, sparring etc.
  8. Yeah, more alternatives would make him (and all other companions) easier to listen to. Some more for the droid... =) "I feel safer when you are on board. I think one of the crewmembers want to turn me into spare parts." "Be careful flying through asteroid fields, master. There is no droid built today that can calculate the chances of surviving. Maybe in a thousand years, but not today." "Next time you go out, could you pick up some extra parts for me. I have trouble fixing all on the ship with these old parts. And some towels...and eggs." "Do you mind notifying the crew before going to hyperspace? I'm getting tired of attending to all their bruises." "There was a call for you on the holocom. I told them you where away." "They say that more worlds on the outer rim are choosing sides. I do hope the creepier species choose the other side. I can't stand them stalking around the ship." "The fuel price has gone down 000.2%. Adding that to the fact that I calibrated the injection we will save 1 credit every other parsec." "I painted the inside of the escape pod. You should avoid using it until the paint has dried." "I heard that painting the ship yellow will keep mynocks away. Don't know if it's true. But I thought you should know."
  9. /agree and sign and all that =) Also it would be nice to see your speeders/pets etc in the cargo hold of your ship, just for looks. Maybe have a companion fiddling with it.
  10. Agree. And have mentioned this in other threads too. I don't think he should be smaller though. But are there any reasons to be able to click the companion at all? You can click the portrait instead. So make all companions "transparent" to clicking. (or make it an option).
  11. Yeah, they have to keep the alien languages. BUT I feel it's to few phrases, so it's very repetative to listen to them. The same 4-5 phrases (as it sounds like) is in every conversation. They need to add more, and more variations. So far I haven't heard the Selkath-language in the game. It scared me senseless the first time I landed on Manaan, really good languge. Maybe just change the hutteses with some pitch or something, to make it fit different species. Some are good, and personal, like Hutts, Jawas, Ugnaughts and Gamorreans. But most species just speak the Rodian-huttese. Please work on this. I read somewhere that dyslexic (sp?) people have trouble with alien voices since the subs won't help so much. Maybe a ingame solution could be applied? Translator-droid och translator unit. For some credits. And when it is turned on, the translator will speak the english version of the text, and you still can hear and see the alien in the background.
  12. Their way of getting in the way when targeting enemies or loot (especially the Dashade). And their way of dying when traveling on Alderaan (happened both ways to the Elysium, and yesterday when I was shuttling back to spaceport).
  13. There is a droid companion on the ship, and some classes have another droid companion, but except for that, how about adding a "custom droid" companion. This one could be merged of all the droid components you find, some for the existing droids, but also parts from enemy droids. Arms, weapons, heads, processors, language-kits, tools, armors, chassis etc etc. Everyone could do a personal droid. This could be a really fun thing. The only downside I can see is the risk that other companions would be to boring. But I'm sure there is a way to balance it. If this is to complex, at least let us BUY a droid companion from a choose selection. Astrodroids, translators, battledroids, probedroids etc. Could "take" a companion-slot, but work more as a speeder or an additional weapon. And when it is defeated in combat, it is broken and have to be reapaired at a droid engineer or at your ship before use again.
  14. Slightly off topic....but Do I understand it right that this Hutt-ball is a game in the game? Like some futuristic fottball/capture the flag or something? In that case, where in the galaxy do I go to watch a match? I'm not interested in playing it, but let me have a look at it from behind a one-way window or a holoscreen and see what's going on.
  15. Same problem this patch too. Please fix. Regards.
  16. Tropper do also have a quest-giver early on that is a male cathar. Imps fight alot of Cathar on Taris, so they are pretty common. They are probably on a lot more places, that I haven't visited. But I miss the "russian" accent on them, as on the one in KOTOR =)
  17. Oh, oh! Where do I join? I did a unintentional dive down a shaft on Hoth some days ago. I didn't see it was a elevatorshaft until I was in the air. Pretty scary. And no R2 to help either. If it's not already there, some warning lines around elevators would be a good addition. Both from preventing people to fall down, and from getting the elevator in their head. =)
  18. We are all riding the same railed adventures. Although you get private caves to encounter bosses and specific events, everyone saves/kills the same person at the same place sooner or later. To add some flavor to the game I would like terminals/quest givers (maybe in your ship?) for each class that gives random quests that fit their profession. This could be a nice break from the main story, a way to get some extra xp, and i bit more personal too. Suggestions: Smuggler: Deliver X to Y. Might fight some thughs/pirates on the way, in space or land. Smuggler: Bounty hunter X is after you. Round up some help, or set a trap for him. Inquisitor: Imperial base X might have a spy. Find him. Inquisitor: Imperials at Y cant get prisoner X to talk. Use your skills. Bounty hunter: Hunt down X at Y. etc. This would make the galaxy more living, players having their own small quests. More reason to visit some places. Stroll into a cantina, ask around, locate your target and do your thing =)
  19. Thanks for the clarification on the walk-issue. I had totally missed the key-binding tab =D One less thing on the list =)
  20. /bumpelidoo! =) More thoughts... "cutscene" when you take a shuttle to/from a planet/station. Like the scenes when your ship takes of, or lands on planets. I believe that it would tie together the world better if we we're given a hint of what happened between our map-teleportations. Right now the orbital stations is just a obscure number of corridors with elevators. But if we saw our ship and the shuttles dock to it from outside, would give a better presentation of the place. It's like in movies and comics when you use a overview shot of the place so the audience know where we are. Then we can cut into close ups.
  21. I posted my suggestions in a thread I thought was moved here to the Suggestion thread, but I just saw it still was in general. So here is my thoughts.... (Probably mentioned earlier in this thread) I guess they stick to near-human species so the possible romantic aspects in the game won't be too disturbing. So, even if I'd would like to see a lot of exotic species playable, I will stick to those species that I guess could fit with the near-human vision. Here is my list: PRIORITY * Cathar (feline) - Juhani * Falleen (green reptilian with pheromones) - Prince Xizor * Iktotchi (huge horns) - Saesee Tiin * Nautolan (green with multiple "lekku") - Kit Fisto * Togruta (red and white humanoid with "lekkus" - Shaak Ti, Ahsoka Tano SECONDARY * Chagrian (blue, human faces with long horns) - Mas Amedda * Devaronian ("devil") - Labria * Lannik (for the "short" players. Big ears) - Even Piell * Pau'an (tall "striped" humanoid) - Tion Medon STRETCHING (might be TOO alien) * Clawdite ("reptilian" shapeshifter. Would be cool if it for shorter time could mimic other races) - ZamWesell * Duros (no nose, big eyes, pretty near-human) - De Maal brothers, Cad Bane * Muun (long pale faces) - San Hill, Darth Plagueis * Weequay ("burned" face) - Ak-rev, Sora Bulq, Hondo Ohnaka
  22. I agree on this. When a lot of action with flashing effects and movement fills the screen, I too have trouble to find the cursor again. I don't know if it''s because it's small, to sensitive (moving to fast) or blend in the background, or all of it, but it's a hassle some of the time. So, option to choose larger/different cursors would be appreciated.
  23. Hi! No, I use XP, and ctrl+alt+delete don't seem to work either in this case. But sometimes I manage to "overload" by clicking a lot, thus bringing up multiple zonealarm-browser-windows in the background, and thus manage to alt-tab. Either way, it's a annoying hassle.
  24. I think the game has i good base. But all is fighting, running and talking. Here are some suggestion (certainly already suggested somewhere in the boards) that I believe would increase the "reality" of the game. Social modes Some quick modes that change the way your character moves (could be bound to some of the F-keys is all is not used already) Walk: normal speed (if this already is an option, please tell me how to do it, I don't seem to be able to stop running) Run: The basic speed in the game Sneak: Moving slower and not aggravating enemies as easily (is a lighter version of force stealth), but not cloaked. Crawl: Same effect as sneak, but different animations. I also read somewhere that people asked for the option to select "sit" in chairs (like in your ship). Please add this. Communication There are multiple ways to communicate with other players in the game and I understand it's meant to be "outside" the game. But if it's possible to merge it into the game, like mail, it would be nice. General: This mode can be heard by all players on the planet (or server?) How do the character do that? I suggest addition of either a device the character have to use and fiddle with for a little while to transmit to every being on the planet. Alternatively have to use a terminal. Yell: can be head by a lot of people around you character. Add "Shout" animation with hand close to mouth and maybe even some icon/color above the character that shouts. Say: as now, just talk Whisper: Private message. Should be a animation that show the character whispering, but since you can whisper to people far away, maybe speaking into a headset animation is more logical. Or split the whisper into a "tell" option too, the later one, using headset, or better yet, the cool animation of the character talking to a small handheld holo of the other character. Guild: Speaking in headset animation. Vendors More vendors to allow customization of the character and his/her equipment. Maybe some existing vendors could be merged, like the armor-vendors, to keep down the number of different vendors. Tailor/tattoo: change hair and tattoos. New additions that can’t be selected at start Paint/dye: Change color of clothes and armors Cyber-Tech: Change/add cybernetics on cyborgs, others too? Ship customization: change color, add logos etc. More than just armors and weapons Alot of stuff can be found in the game, but most is junk. Mainly it's just weapons, armors and stims that are useful. Add more functional items. Some can require a free hand, some be used from backpack. Macrobinoculars/Electrobinoculars. When used, zoom in on distant places. Probe droid: When used, control the droid to look around. Destroyed if attacked and have to buy a new one. Locator: two-handed. Show all living creatures or droids on minimap. (version of the one Solo uses to find Luke on Hoth)
