  1. My journey is SWTOR started all the way back at 1.0, the launch of the game in December 2011. I played the game through its' ups and downs all the way into 2017 when I cancelled my subscription. With the recent 7.0 patch which allowed us to have 2 different classes assigned to our characters, I decided to return. One of the things that bothered me back in patch 4.0 when KotFE was released was the whole removal of several awesome armour sets and their obtainability. For example, as a Trooper who played in a RP-PvP guild called Alpha Company back on Jung Ma, we loved the aspect of having matching armours to really get into character and portray a serious military trooper guild. The main armour set that was used was the TH-15A Patrol Armor Set which was obtainable on the Coruscant PvP vendor. This is how it looks like: https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/th-15a-patrol/ Another that was really cool was the TH-15A Medic Commando Body Armor which was obtained by defeating Grand Moff Kilran from the Maelstrom Prison (normal mode). Unfortunately, these are just a few honorable mentions of perfectly awesome armor sets and gear pieces that was once obtainable in the game. And sadly they are not anymore. I really do love the armor sets that was once obtainable and I think it is unfair for those that still want those pieces, but can no longer obtain them. For example, the TH-15A Medic Commando one is impossible to dye to look exactly like. The tint of the black, has a bit of blue in it and with a black dye, it would look like the TT-15A Echelon, which is no longer obtainable. However, there are some pieces that drop that looks very similar, but without the backpack. The packpack is like the dot above the "i" for my taste though. I really believe that these gear pieces should be made available again. Perhaps through the alliance system and bound to legacy eventually, or perhaps be locked into Flashpoints. Whether that is story mode, master mode or veteran mode, Operations and so on. Perhaps even through the alliance as very rare drops from Locked Supply Crates to the Alliance Specialists that would be legacy bound. I understand the struggle of having design teams create new and unique cosmetic equipment and the need to thrive by providing to the playerbase. However, you also have a lot of unique and beautiful original designs that was introduced in 1.0 and sadly removed/disabled to obtain after 4.0. I believe it would be a positive reaction from the community to see these old school pieces of equipment having a comeback.   3. I see people are calling me a liar and BSer because I said that SWTOR had fewer players before Rise of the Hutt Cartel than it does now. I am actually not pulling info out of my "A-hole" as one mentioned in a previous page. Do you seriously think that BioWare was on stand-by then while having a lot of money, unable to produce good content with all that money they had received from the millions of subs this game had at launch? I beg to differ. The game was in a dying state back then because it was buy-to-play and subscribe based module. Then they changed to free-to-play and subscribe module which we use to this day. When ROTHC launched it gave a little bolster to BioWare because people who still played and some returning players subscribed and bought the expansion. Your logic in this thread is that SWTOR has way fewer players now, but is able to produce better content now than it did when it had a higher playerbase? That does not make any sense at all. I will try to serve this to you with a baby spoon, smooth and easily. The more players who play this game = the more money for BioWare = they produce better content and expansions for the game. It's as simple as that. If BioWare had so damn much money then in comparison to now, how come they fired their whole PvP development team?

  5. I am talking about story content. I did not find Rise of the Hutt Cartel story, the cinematics, combat and story nearly as entertaining as KOTFE and KOTET was.
  6. Unfortunately I have no sources of statistics, graphs or scales but my own eyes and what I have seen in the game. SWTOR did far worse back then than it does now. I do not think that EA have funded this game additionally than what it has already managed to scrape through with recurring subscriptions and cartel coins purchases. Back in 2012, Blizzard had earned a profit through World of Warcraft enough to fund the game for the next 7 years if their donations through subscriptions, expansion purchases and gem purchases ceased. My point with the paragraph above is that I highly doubt that BioWare to this day have been able to fund SWTOR with the money they made from founder purchases and subscriptions to the time span of right before Rise of the Hutt Cartel was released. Rise of the Hutt Cartel, Galactic Strongholds, Galactic Starfighter, Shadow of Revan, Knights of the Fallen Empire, Knights of the Eternal Throne - I am not convinced that BioWare could fund these expansions if they did not have a source of income. That source is the players through Cartel Market purchases and subscriptions. We have to agree that the first pancake you make will never be the best pancake you eat. Neither was the first expansion of SWTOR. But we have to agree that the expansions are becoming far more better. Rise of the Hutt Cartel was sort of ok(like the first pancake), Galactic Strongholds was good, Galactic Starfighter was amazing when it first came out (shame it didn't evolve into something bigger), Shadow of Revan was great, KOTFE was pretty good and KOTET was even better than the last one. I highly doubt that the expansions will get worse from here. Only sad thing is that this game is stepping away from the aspect of being a MMO and rather focusing on the single player aspect which I think is a shame. It's good to see that they are sort of working slightly for a new operation. The price of subscribing to SWTOR did not increase than what it already did cost 5 years ago, the expansions did not become worse the past 5 years; in fact they became better. And from my understanding; the more money you shoot into a game, the better the game become.
  7. You cannot compare who you saw on the planets. There is quite a lot you have to take into consideration before you make an educational evaluation of that. This includes the amount of servers there were, the themes of the servers, the leveling system and the game model. Let's start with the amount of servers. There were quite a lot of more servers back then. The servers were starting to get merged because the amount of players leaving the game. This game was described to be the one to take over the torch from World of Warcraft, but failed to deliver end-game content for players who wanted to do progressive raiding and PvP. Those who were left in this game was those who still found it fun and those players who were highly dedicated to this game just because it had "Star Wars" in its' name, thus being themed as Star Wars. A lot of those players who joined SWTOR from WoW left because it was almost entirely the same as World of Warcraft, same type of combat system, same vendor system, same GTN system, etc. However, WoW had the better offer to those players. The themes of the server varied back in time. You had RP, RP-PvP, RP-PvE, PvE and PvP. Now there are no themes of the servers at all. You know how I mentioned up above that you had those players dedicated to progressive raiding(PvE) and PvP? Well, a lot of roleplayers were still left in Star Wars. Famous guilds like Alpha Company from SWG settled down on the Jung Ma server and did extremely well until the end of 2016 when they decided to suspend their guild from the SWTOR community due to the dying roleplaying community. Now there are no more themed servers and therefore roleplayers cannot find what they are looking for either. You said that you saw a lot more players on the planets before Rise of the Hutt Cartel. Well, that may be true. It still does not prove that there were more players back then than there is now. First of all, you did not have guilds ships or strongholds back then. A lot of people tend to stay in their strongholds as they have usually everything they need there. If they are not at the strongholds, they are at the fleets or their guild ships. Thus when you saw so many players on planet back in time, you have to remember that the leveling system was far more challenging than it currently is. Right now people only have to do their class missions before they are ready on a sense of level scale to move on to their next destination. Leveling that usually took hours upon hours, days upon days or even weeks upon weeks, now only takes a few hours to complete. You do not have to do all the specific heroics or side-missions to grind your way to Level X before moving on to the next destination within your planet. Therefore a stay on each planet is far shorter. This may answer the question to why you're not seeing as many on planet today as you did back in time. Also back in time just before Rise of the Hutt Cartel, this game changed it's model from buy-to-play + subscribe to free-to-play + subscribe. During the buy-to-play, people were able to download the game and play content to level 15 before they had to upgrade their account in order to play. Those who tried the game did not find it funny due to all the restrictions on trial, thus the game changed to free-to-play and it suddenly got the attention of a lot of players who wanted to try it out. A lot of those free-to-play players decided as well eventually to leave due to the endless grind with leveling. Doing all heroics, all side-missions and all story line quests + flashpoints with cool down and they were still not able to continue their story line due to being too low of a level. Put all that together and you will find a lot more players on the planets than you will find today. That does still not mean that the community is far less active than it is now.
  8. Bioware is simplifying things in this game. Soon you don't have to walk. They are certainly taking steps in that direction. No more unlocking fast travel points or taxi points. No more level based mount license or a big cost of a mount, legacy unlock fast travel to [...], open the galaxy map from anywhere and travel to another planet from nowhere. Leveling as well, no more dedicating time to level from 1 to 50. Instead of you run through your class missions and you're at level 50 within a few hours. No more doing your story missions, side missions, teaming up with players to do heroics and other stuff. The kind of sad thing about SWTOR's Community is that BioWare sometimes actually listen to the players and implements stuff like "Omg I dont wanna spend another 2 weeks leveling a character from 1 to 50" and BioWare is like "Ok done" and now after they have done it, players regret because they find themselves with nothing left to do.

  10. Sorry to disappoint you mate, but SWTOR is not dying. SWTOR had fewer players before Rise of the Hutt Cartel than it does now. As long as BioWare and EA have people like me and you who post in this forum(subscribers) and people who buy tons of credits on the Cartel Market, this game will not die. In a sense of an online MMORPG I can say as much as there is very little left of it. Just because things are not like me and you specifically want it, it doesn't mean that it is dying. Like for example, I want this game to be a little bit more difficult. Tougher to level, tougher combat features and a step in the opposite direction of World of Warcraft's combat system, but a step closer to a combat system similar to Battlefront and Star Wars Jedi Academy where you rely more on a crosshair and combination of attacks like "Move Left + Left Mouse Button", "Move Right + Left Mouse Button" and a blocking/defecting feature. I do also want to see traveling more demanding. Instead of you opening your galaxy map and clicking where you want to go, I'd rather see an open galaxy where you'd actually drive your ship in "Hyper Space Map" where your travel could be interrupted by a ship before leaving into a loading screen where you'd wait for your area to load and you'd appear in your Starfighter similar to the expansion Galactic Starfighter, where you have to beat enemy ships who attack you or escape an ambush of other players before you're given the option to return to Hyper Space and you continue your journey to Coruscant from wherever you entered the space battle. This game is after all called STAR WARS, so I was really hoping we could keep to the principal of having a war in the stars as well as planet side. But yeah that I just mentioned above is highly unlikely to happen anywhere before 2023 as EA's license to Star Wars does not expire before that. Oh and when it does, we do not know if it will be renewed another 10 years to 2033. So for me, this game will not cease to exist probably before I am like 30 years old.

  12. Attitude issues are not the reason for PvP dying in this game. You have complaining kids who insult people all day over at CS:GO matchmaking. You don't see that killing the game, do you? Of course I do not condone those who display such attitude as I am not a person who do that, but at least that is not the main reason.
  13. Anyone else been getting this? I am able to launch the game and play for like 5 minutes before my connection just drops and my ms is increased from 50 and all the way up to 10000+ over time. Then it just stays like that. It is literally unplayable. This happens on absolutely all planets, instances, etc. There is nothing wrong from my internet on my end, I got a stable 150 mbits download speed and it happens only on SWTOR. All other games are lag free. Help?
  14. Title. SPOILER!!!!!!! .. ... .... .. So after you deliver your final speech, the classic Star Wars outro appears. What I noticed here is that it doesn't state "Star Wars The Old Republic - Knights of the Eternal Throne" but only "Star Wars The Old Republic". Is this the end of the road?
  15. Same issue here. Tried 5 times in a row to see what the issue was. When Arcann's HP is down at 23% and he is spamming his force lightning at you, you need to go up to him and use Empowered Bash. This gives a mutual throw back between you and Arcann. However, you will receive a debuff called Overload Stun which lasts for 10 seconds I believe(?). While this one is going down, Arcann will cast another throwback at you before he starts casting Force Lighting at you once more. You will then be given a debuff which is supposed to be there only for a second or two from what I recall from when I did it back a few months ago. This debuff is called "Power Overwhelming" and describes "Unable to move" with absolutely no timer. It will just stay like that. Please fix the debuff Power Overwhelming in KoTFE Chapter 16

  18. The main principal is that people want to see Jedi vs. Sith. Dark vs. Light. Republic vs. Empire. Not leading us into something that has been non-existing in Star Wars.
  19. I know this is something which is quite late to address. Personally, this reason in particular has made me stop playing SWTOR unless there's a new Expansion or new chapter or whatever. Honestly, I do not feel like I am playing a Star Wars game anymore. The reason is the Eternal Empire. Don't get me wrong, I will not be ignorant and say that this story is bad as it is not. However, it is in denial of the original purpose of Star Wars which has always been a battle between the Light side and the Dark side. In the Eternal Empire, it is now "What the heck are we?" vs "Wait... who are you?" It was a very sketchy move which could backfire with several different groups within the SWTOR community. The roleplayers have been suffering for this especially. I know that. Many of those who play because it is a Star Wars game has as well been pretty much been hit by this as well. I do personally go under the roleplayers and those who play this because it is a Star Wars game. I never really decided to go and play SWTOR because a new Operation was released or whatever. I only played this game to the fullest because it was a Star Wars game. The content is fine. However, as a member of the Star Wars community, I personally feel that BioWare has misrepresented the trust that many of the players gave them. None really wanted a unique story which went away from the principals of Star Wars. You should have done what the average SWTOR player wanted instead of leading us into a whole new path which was kind of uncalled for. I just hope that one day, SWTOR will return to the war between the Republic and the Sith Empire.
  20. While you have games like this: which offer you practically an open galaxy with so much opportunities, we're still left with a Star Wars MMO with a million loading screens.
  21. I did not mean it in that way. I would prefer to have a combination of for example our current system and a combat system like Battlefront when it comes to shooting and for example Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy when it comes to lightsaber combat, but you have the opportunitity to use different combat abilities through 1-7 for example which could be e.g grenade toss, healing yourself or others (if you're learning how to be a combat medic or a force healer). Basically I want you to be able to select these abilities not depending on your class, but which path you want to walk. Meaning you go around and you learn yourself how to use the force for example. You start as a non-force user and you have to use a blaster or walk a path which means you will gradually learn how to use the force and then you go and learn it over time. People should feel superior and special when achieving the possibility to use the force.

Before you comment on this thread I want it to be constructive towards myself as I have been playing this game actively since beta and I do not think that I will stop playing this game before there is something better for me to play which is Star Wars. Point numer 1: Repetitive gameplay One issue that I alongside a lot of players are having, regardless if it is SWTOR, Call of Duty, Battlefront, CSGO or any other game. It is that it needs to be enjoyable over time and not that it is way too repetetitive. This is where SWTOR fails, because the only time when you feel the game is not being too repetitive is when you're leveling your character from level 1 to 65 when you complete the class story. Personally, I do not see the whole reason for a massive leveling system, what I'd rather want is a story that I have to do as a character alongside other players in order to train different sets of skills. Basically an endless and flexible character development to a certain point where I am satisfied. Something which for example SWG had pre-NGE. Yes, I played SWG but I was not as near to that game as I am to SWTOR. It should feel like you're starting by walking out the front door where you have the a bunch of opportunities where you could decide your fate. Point number 2: End-game I am quite fond of the end game that SWTOR has to offer. I am personally a PvP player so I prefer doing that as I love the atmosphere of competitive teamwork. So here, I think that SWTOR is actually doing pretty fine. What I would as well want to see is that we're not limited to a specific arena like huttball or so, but rather have an alternate open world where the Republic and the Empire players would work grouped in order to take over different parts. Similar to Guild Wars 2's World vs. World system. I have done some of the raids and I have done all flashpoints. I am impressed by the fun that the raids have to offer, but again. Here it feels a little repetitive due to the combat system that SWTOR got. Point number 3: Combat System This got to be one thing that I both love and hate with the game. I love the fact that you have to train yourself and educate yourself about being better at playing your class and how you should use your defensive cooldowns and offensive ones in order to create a balance in your own combat stamina. What I do not like is that it can often be overwhelming. I would personally prefer something that you have to practise your hand on like for example reflexes and learning the game sense like you got to do in a lot of other games. Where you simply do not have 50 different abilities and you're almost out of keys to use. TLDR: It would be great if we did not have tons of abilities and maybe just 5-6 combat abilities in total with an additional hand and mouse reflex that you have to practise in order to perfectionate. Something similar to for example CSGO(shooting) and Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy(Lightsaber). Enjoy the game folks.
  23. So according to this video ( ) the next expansion for Star Wars The Old Republic is not going to be named Season 2 of KOTFE, but rather KOTET. Hard to figure that is probably Knights of the Eternal Throne. Go to 0:55
