  1. http://myda.mn/LFVD98 Too funny. **** storm troopers, and the last scene (spoiler) has the Dark Lord ... well ... let's just say he's really gettin' crazy! This premiered on mydamnchannel yesterday (likely without Lucas's approval lol).
  2. Buddy of mine put this together, and it's hilarious. Premiered on mydamnchannel via youtube. http://myda.mn/LFVD98 It's hella funny and all about Star Wars, so I thought I'd share!
  3. Perhaps it's about re-thinking gear stats? Any new gear priorities that, given this new resource management, make sense?
  4. Pre-50 pvp Gunnery is fine - 50 pvp it needs help. Utterly viable and a dps leader in PvE (at least the potential to be such!). Even in PvP btw, if you know how to LOS, and pick your targets accordingly, you're fine. Just a very tough class to be really good at, so many folks say 'broken in pvp.'
  5. This is a good reply. I might add the following caveat however, to Gunnery for leveling. If you are primarily going to level in PvE flashpoints and questing, then Gunnery's just peachy. Tons of fun too. If however you are going to split play time between PvP and PvE (note, not the fastest route to level, as you level slower w PvP than flying through quests and equal or higher-level flashpoints), you may well want to try Pyro out at lower levels. The elemental damage that comes with Plasma cell and the pyro tree is very helpful for damage-based medals, not to mention extremely effective. Gunnery works in PvP, but until you get grav round and the post-30 set of talents it doesn't shine (again PvP-wise only). Personally, I think if you're going to power-level w PvE content until the 30s, that's a great time to start getting familiar with your Gunnery talents in PvP, as the above poster suggests. GL, enjoy!
  6. TL;DR (that's sort of raging). (now THAT's trolling!) This thread needs to die.
  7. Sorry if I said you were trolling, you're right, empathizing with the OP does not = I think Guardian Leap as well, is very handy to get out of situations. Force Slow is a nice aoe slow (not every class can slow down multiple enemies running through the passageway in Voidstar). There's more. Many more. I think utility is often the most creative thing about being a Guardian.
  8. I think the naysayers have gotten to a point where it's trolling. I just replied to someone who asked 'then share your wisdom' on how to play a Guardian other than hitting Guard and waiting to die lol. These are just haters who are having trouble in PvP - when someone says Guardians have no escapes, and nothing to do but press Guard and hope for a healer to come run with them, I think it's quickly becoming a L2P issue.
  9. You can Leap to their healers and constantly hazard them, slowing, interrupting, sundering ... You can stay out of melee range to a node and jump back in to prevent it from being captured ... You can taunt other players to reduce their damage output on your team ... ... and more. I really don't need to tell you how to play the class if you don't know by 50. It sounds like you're just hating on the class, that's fine, if you don't like it enough don't play it, I guess. My point is that while a Guardian is stronger with a healer in pvp (everyone is), it is not right to say they are ineffectual. When you say 'abandon ship' if things go south, do you mean disengage? So run away. You will likely outlive anyone chasing you unless their entire team does. And if their entire team is focusing fire on you, constantly, then your team is freed up to do other things. Sometimes that happens too, and it's not awful.
  10. GS at low levels can top the boards if damage is all you want to show for your warzone. Bolster takes level 9 and 10 gear and makes it sing. The OP's point is not about damage imo, it's about utility. I don't agree with it, but I don't think he's upset that our damage, specifically, is low compared to other classes (ie full DPS class trees like Sent, Smuggs, and 'Mandos).
  11. I don't think the point of your thread was missed at all. I just don't think people agree with you. Broad statements like "I've played every class in the game in PvP, and this one offers less than every other class" pepper other class boards, and have done so, for months and months. They are unfounded in most cases, and usually just posted by people who THINK they can make a clean comparison. Thing is, I can say "My Guardian at 50 has as much utility or more as any other class in a warzone ... I can Guard a player (and win medals), I can hold a node (and win objective points and medals), I can dish solid dps and not be a glass cannon, I can taunt and reduce enemy players' effectiveness on my team" ... and so on. I'm not wrong either. Now, when snipers complained about cover mechanics pre 1.2 and the importance of cover to their utility in a warzone, that was the real deal. I don't see that Guard/Juggs are less effective than any other class. The only class that I'd say has more utility than ours is the Sin of course. Their full bag of tracks is a bit astounding currently.
  12. What ability or skill talent allows your leaps to heal you 8%?
  13. Roger that, as most classes seem to go ... though dps classes really shine with bolster in place, even with crappy gear and two attacks heh. I'll probably stick to Focus for a while, and run around in Soresu, Guard for medals and to keep ballcarriers and healers up, run the ball from time to time, that sort of thing. Thanks!
  14. Hi hoping some who have fully leveled Guards and PvP fairly regularly can answer. All thoughts welcome! There is a lot of hype about how great Vigilance is, but most of the chatter is at 50 PvP. While leveling up, it appears to me that Vigilance won't shine until OS in the 5th Tier. Until then, up into your 30s, I'm wondering if anyone had success with hybrid Defense/Focus or if in fact, it doesn't matter. Or, as a final option while leveling up to your 30s and 40s, are there just as many tools available in Vig as the other trees. I am primarily looking to a) survive and b) not hit like a wet noodle, though I realize I won't be high-bursting anyone down, really. We're just not built that way (especially at lower levels). Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
  15. Sad. but, I must admit, on Keller's Void it's taking so long for pvp, I've loaded Aion back on my compy and I'm gonna roll a toon and just mess around. Until GW2 comes out, I'm just getting sick of waiting around and having lame single-player storylines as my only instant adventure options. It's sad, never thought I'd be posting this.
  16. No you are wrong. SoS is one of the most potent pvp attacks. Rapid Fire makes it even moreso.
  17. Yes. Additionally get the +10 to all stats datacron from the Museum on the Ziost, with the help of: 1 red crystal from Corellia in your party the grappling hook from the Alderann vendor (MGGS I think it's called) at least 2 sorcs (to pull people back from various areas of the girderwork you have to cross) a six-man team vent or teamspeak lots of patience
  18. LOL nice. It does help when you have a brick sh-thouse tank and 2 healers at your back, eh?
  19. Don't necessarily agree with this - I keybind, but I know people who just prefer the rhythm of clicking. Doesn't mean they're faster or I am. Lag and instinct has as much to do with it imo. Fact I learned in life a while ago, more than one way to skin a cat.
  20. The Coast sucks. Y'all can pretend that you love it. The nodes are so far apart from each other that most of the time team's have 2-3 members doing nothing but running and guarding. The reduced size of warzone teams makes it so that there are lots of 'dead' spots. A game like RIFT had large-sized warzone raids, and on a spread map you always were running into teams and scouts. But on Coast games, the dead time just blows.
  21. Please understand, 'not even level 50 yet' is not really relevant to this thread imo. Not that under 50 is subpar, but without the Expertise brought on even by a few BM pieces and Recruit gear (on average you'll sport 1k expertise), with the addition of bolster effects on low levels and myriad abilities for higher levels, pre-50 pvp comparisons to 50 pvp just don't work much anymore. Having said as much, I don't agree with him either (I could barely understand him, but I think I know what he's sayin), but for real, you SHOULD be beating just about everyone pre-50. You're a pure dps class with plenty of 1v1 tools by 30.
  22. Dude just as an aside, you need to work on your english grammar. I am not flaming ... but this like the third or fourth post of yours that I am seriously trying to make sense of, and I just can't. I'd like to hear your thoughts, you seem to have some very specific ones about Snipers ...
