  1. Whoops - looks like this didn't go in the guild recruitment thread; sorry about that Hey Everyone -- I am currently looking for a new home for my 55 healing sage and 55 dps vanguard. I started this game on launch and got a number of toons up to 50. I have experience in clearing all vanilla raids and FP's etc. I just re-subbed a few days ago and pushed my two favorite characters up to 55. I'm in the process of gearing up from my "crappy" gear (which used to be the best lol) but it shouldn't take long. I'm really looking for a more laid-back republic guild that is active and helpful in getting groups together to run both PVE and PVP. Operation times between 7pm - 9pm CST would be ideal as well. I play daily and am loving the changes that have come to SWTOR; it's like the game I wished launched years ago Please contact me here or in game if you are interested. I'm looking forward to starting another run up the good ol progression ladder. Whiskykitten - 55 Vanguard Nyghtlas - 55 Sage
  2. 1 - World VS World PvP; where is it? Maybe at least an update or some sort of mention of the plans 2 - Achievements; give me something else to chase at 50 3 - Optimize the engine / load times. This relates back to #1; while the old Ilum was fun, it wasn't fun at 10 fps.
  3. Probably a stupid question; but in the 0/13/28 build, what's the best skills to use with recklessness (I have 3 stacks with the stalker set bonus). I usually have been using it before deathfield and then following with shock or discharge. Am I gimping my dmg doing it this way? Thanks for the help
  4. Sadly, today is my last day. I've been here since launch and have always supported the game. I brought up 5 lvl 50's across 2 servers but I only have a few reasons to cancel: -- I'm bored. I can't stomach leveling another alt up and the same 4 war zones day in and day out is not enough. What happened to Ilum redesign? Some sort of structured World PVP would keep me subbed for life -- Load times and static world designs. Why doesn't anything path randomly? How is it fun to have packs of 3-5 mobs sitting around waiting to get slaughtered? I barely even like leveling because of all the long load times and travel issues as well. -- Communication from BW sucks. I'm sick of hearing "coming soon". I've been patient for many months and spent plenty of money to get more than a canned statement from them once a month. Maybe a general direction of where the game is going at least would suffice. -- Community is horrible. Yes, that's right.... this community sucks. I grew up with Everquest, I want a community like that again. Why should I have to turn off general chat to get away from the dredges of society? Since you can play mostly solo, I guess people don't care about community. Don't even get me started on the rudeness of people in PvP; it's mostly disgusting. Luckily I had a great guild to play with but this community is a cancer. I hope it doesn't spread to the next game...whatever that may be. Bioware could have nailed this game, but the train has derailed at some point. I'll gladly keep an eye on things and maybe re-sub in 1.4/1.5. Best of luck!
  5. http://www.businessinsider.com/star-wars-the-old-republic-could-attract-up-to-50m-monthly-players-says-wedbush-2012-8 It's always funny to see what the so called "expert" analysts have to say about the game. Clearly they haven't played. I have been a supporter of this game since launch; but no way I can see it growing this much with the fundamental flaws and the general direction of things. Either way, it's nice to see a little bit different perspective of what others are suggesting. Happy Friday!

    Open World PvP

I've been trying to find any "new" information on the redesign of open world PvP and am coming up empty. Has there been anything announced since they said they were going to revamp Ilum?? I know they did a poll a while back asking what the community would like to see but nothing after that. Are they still tabulating the results or .... Hopefully we have some information soon; I think if they were able to provide a fun open world environment it would break up the monotony of the same 4 warzones day after day.
  7. I'm assuming you use surging charge with this ? Also, is the dps.viable for pve as well ??
  8. Looks like Madness is where I'll focus my efforts; thanks. Do you find that you are having force problems by going with insulation over dark embrace?? Does the 30% armor lead to more uptime in PvP?
  9. Hi there -- I recently switched from full tank to dps on my assassin. I do about equal amounts of pvp/pve as of late and I'm going broke from my constant respecs I've enjoyed the 0/13/28 , 23/1/17, and a 5/5/31 (or other version of full madness). The question is which of these would be the go to spec for BOTH pvp and pve? I understand they each have their niches, but if you were to choose one of them, which would it be and why? Thanks in advance for any feedback
  10. I just started tanking fp's as a 25 sin and am a little confused on discharge and it breaking cc. Is it a cone or aoe effect? I guess I'm trying to figure out best way to position myself so as to not break a cc that was laid down. I run into trouble when there is a close grouping of mobs. Does it work to have my back to the cc'd target ?? Any help would be appreciated !!
  11. I just recently hit 50 with my vanguard after doing mostly PvP 1-49. I picked up all the recruit gear and tried a warzone. Yes, it was completely different and a lot more difficult. No, it wasn't game breaking. After 2 weeks I'm in full BM and things are much easier . I could have done it much faster too but I didn't play all that much as of late... Was it fun being a fresh 50 though? At times, but most of the time it was frustrating. That's what concerns me about the current state of PvP. As more people get to level cap and jump in PvP, are the majority going to stick around and work on getting BM/WH gear? We need a way to encourage people to log in and continue to play the game; IMO the current state of pvp gear is doing the opposite. A level playing field is what keeps the games more fun and less lop-sided and ultimately keeps people subbed. (in theory at least). Healthy competition is what'll keep people interested in the long term Just my $.02
  12. Thanks for the suggestions; hopefully dual spec comes in soon so we won't have to deal with the spec shuffling. I should give assault a shot in PVP, although the pieces of BM I have already are combat tech and they aren't optimal. But, if I like assault in PVP, I can just run assault for both pve and pvp ... then problem solved!
  13. Quick question that I can't seem to find an answer to... I just hit 50 on my Vanguard and usually run Iron Fist spec for PvP. I tried tactics and it just felt a little clunky to me so went back to Iron Fist. My guild is in need of DPS for PVE OPS and FP's at times; is it viable at all to run Iron Fist with High Energy Cell or will I be forced to respec a couple times a week to either assault/tactics when I want to PVE?? Thanks for any advice or suggestions
  14. Quick Question on this -- I'm about to hit 50 on my vanguard and will be primarily running tactics as dps for ops and hard modes. Is this spec viable to switch cells and off tank if the need arises?
  15. Thanks for the great feedback. Never thought about putting just the single point in Jedi Crusader but that makes sense with the rotations. I'll give this one a shot and see how I like it.
  16. I'm currently lvl 47 and trying to find out where to put my last few points in my focus pvp build. Is second wind a viable option in high lvl pvp or is it more of a gimmick to get a healing medal? (which we don't really need anymore anyways) Here's the spec I'm thinking of using it in... I can go with second wind or go up to the 2nd tier in combat by shuffling around a little bit. Thoughts / suggestions?? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#501bcZMMZGbRrkrMkGR.1 Thanks! Cadarn
  17. Yes -- I do have 64 bit Win7. That's why I'm leaning towards the extra 4 gig of ram. Especially since a matching 4 gb to what I currently have is only $29 from newegg. I was looking at benchmarks and it seems I will really only start to see performance gains by going to a 6850/6870. I can get a 6850 from newegg for $130 and reviews are excellent for the price/performance of that model. I think I'll do that and get the 4 gigs of ram and see what happens and report back here later next week. One thing that bugged me about my 4890 is that it is not DX11. So even a small performance gain will justify the jump up to dx11 in my mind. I built the entire system new back in 2009 and it cost me probably around $800 or so. It's been rock solid and has not given me any problems at all over the years. A little TLC and an upgrade should give me a few more years out of it no problem.
  18. I apologize if I put this in the wrong forum, not sure where to ask for hardware help as there isn't a specific thread for that! I'm currently playing at a very decent frame rate but most of my graphical settings are on low. I'd like to bump up the settings but not sure where my bottleneck will be. Here's my current specs: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO AM3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory XFX HD-489A-ZDFC Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card Rosewill BRONZE series RBR750-M 750W Continuous@40°C, 80Plus Bronze Certified,Modular Cable Design,Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7, i5" Power Supply I was thinking about dropping in a Radeon 6870 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102948 but I'm not sure if the rest of my system will hold back performance or not. Otherwise I was thinking of dropping in another 4gb of ram and a radeon 6790 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150564. Any thoughts or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated!!
  19. I recently hit 50 and have been doing my dailies for mods on my orange gear. Most of my item lvl is 124 with a few 126 pieces. Is this good enough to start doing hard modes?? I feel that I'm more than ready but I don't want to step into a HM as a healer and be inefficient and wipe the group! Also -- will these item lvls help out in PVP since I haven't gotten any champ pieces as of yet? Thanks, Nyght
