  1. Actually, use Dodge to cleanse all bad effects on you before using DA. Triage is only able to remove tech dots.
  2. Hint: BW wants us to spam more basic attacks.
  3. BW actually nerfed the stealth. Everyone can detect and see you from farther than before regardless extra pts in improved stealth talent. Few days ago, in a Civil War, I were hiding behind those rocks on the right (snowy) side to scout (as a scoundrel). Miracly, i saw a Sin in stealth from 30m away, staying on the edge of the platfrom (he stayed still, had his back to me). I enjoyed the sight for like 30 seconds, until he decided to move away from the spot. "Bad will be suck, and good will be fine" is an overused excuse for every nerf, and skills has nothing to do with the core mechanics in which skills have little to no effect on it. Take a look on the case above, if i can see that sin ins stealth from 30m away, does it mean he is bad?
  4. IMO, i would trade "Surprise comeback" and "Shifted Eyed" in scarpper tree for a Gap closer or something make backblast no longer requires to be behind the target or something that reduce backblast cd. The reason is "Surprise comeback" healing tick is too weak (480 hp per 3 second, assume you have 16k hp). Furthermore, it is suspected for one of the factor keeping Scoundrel in combat. For "Shifted-Eyed", this one is pretty useless pre 1.2. Post 1.2, it is a total waste of 2 talent pts since stealth got nerfed and everyone can detect stealth way easier than before. My suggestion is: -"Surprise comeback" now is a gap closer, from 15m, 15 or 30 s cd. -Or change it into "Facial shot" which makes Backblast no longer require behind the target. -"Shifted-Eyed" now is a 2 pts talent named "Improved backblast" or "fast reload", reduces cd of Backblast for 1.5 sec and 3 sec.
  5. When they said "Scoundrel's DPS is fine. It is somewhere within 5% of Mara/Sent's DPS.", then they buffed Mara/Sent and nerfed Scrapper, I know Scrapper's fate is decided. Dont struggle, just accept being the black sheep. Otherwise, it will be more painful.
  6. Since 1.2, sco's healing tree is pretty decent (some even says it is OP) . DPS is a whole different story, especially for pure DPS-ers. The two most annoying issues are mobs auto facing and energy draining. The third issue is the defensive cd (aside of Disapear Act), Dodge and Defensive screen are uberly underpowered compared to any other class. The forth one is lack of gap closer while being a melee dps class. Since backblast requires behind target's back to trigger, auto facing mobs make it impossible to do backblast without a tank or cc or anything that pulls agro away from the scoundrel. Bowdaar/Corso is the perfect choice for all general situation. Guss (aka healer) is also pretty helpful but your fight will be alot longer. but of course safer. Akaavi/Risha are heavy hitters, especially Akaavi with her AoE skills (she is actually able to hold agro for a while, and clean trash mobs real quick). Energy draining is caused by the increase CD of back blast plus energy costs of several skills (Back blast, Flechette) plus the nerf to pugnacity engery regen rate. It is not surprised that any dps scoundrel can out of juice just by 1 caraless rotation. Spamming alot basic attack between skills is the only solution. Playing a DPS scoundrel is annoying and frustrating (to the point that I found it as a norm). However, it is not impossible to enjoy the class. Scoundrel is not Rambo nor Terminator nor Assassin/Shadow (Force user stealher version), you have to play it carefully. Of course, stealth is your best friend, skip any unnecessary fights if you can. When you decide to fight, you need to know which target is the best choice to kill first or cc (you can cc 1 non-droid from stealth and 1 droid in combat), and use interupt to prevent elites/bosses cast their skills with Dirty Kick/Flash bang/Distraction. Finally, keep an eye on your companion, keep his heal over 50% is a good idea.
  7. At first, Rift did not have Vengence stats (equivalent of Expertise) in PvP gears. And PvE-ers cry about have to do PvP to get BiS gears for PvE and PvP-ers have BiS gears way too easy. Removing Expertise only creates the conflict between PvE-ers PvP. And I am sure that there are alot people playing this game do not like or even hate PvP, classes imbalance, nerf fest, fotm are few of reasons. On the other hand, a lot of PvP-ers do not like to spend hours in instances, repeat the same thing over and over for PvE gears. Thus, removing the border between PvP and PvE gears is like to force people to do what they do not want to. Furthermore, rebalance skills acrosses 8 AC classes is not something game developers are able to do in few months. Unless they try to do something like GW, standardlize all gears in PvP, etc but that requires a huge revamp of game system and I do not think BW wants to do that. Just too costly.
  8. A 13k hp Scrapper can pull 4k crit with Shoot First on 900 expertise heavy armor character? You cannot be serious. 13k hp means he is with Recuit or even worse gears than that. There is no way he can pull 4k crit on 900 expertise like you. It is just impossible. Even with full BM 1100+ expertise + relic + adrenals, Scrapper/Conceal are usually able to pull around 3k-4k crit with shoot first on same gear players. There are 3 possible cases here. 1) You just mislook the hp bar of that guy (maybe he was not at full HP, and had full BM+ some WH). 2) You were in PvE gears, and forgot to put up your PvP ones. This often happens when WZ pops and ppl are doing dailies. 3) You are just trolling.
  9. If you dont want to heal, Assassin/Shadow is the best choice. They are better than DPS scoundrel in every aspect, utility, survivabiltity, long-term dps, and yes they also have stealth.
  10. The fact that it slows everyone in your team, cannot use in your primary stealth, and such a long cd makes it too situational to useless. Even worse, a lot of ppl in WZs think it a bug that suddenly makes them invisible and slow them down. Unless you are in a premade, you might be able to discuss with teammates through vent to take advantage on it. Otherwise, it is just a waste of slot on Quickbar. P.S: In PvE, it is even worse. Why do you need a group stealth for instance if all elites/bosses can burst your steatlh and agro from 50+m away? Try to help friends sneak through some heroic heavy guarded area? 15-20 sec is no where enough to do that. And mobs can detect stealth easier currently thx to the nerf of stealth in general. This skill looks cool on paper but nearly useless in reality. Back then. when i saw the smuggle's class progression clip, where you can stealth other guys in front of a Giant monster to break its agro. I was thinking "Wow! That is so cool!" Now, i just realize that it is just a false advertisement of BW.
  11. If you account the bonus regen from Turns the Table/Cullling, the energy regen rate while Pugnacity/Stim Boost is up is actually lower than pre 1.2. Like i said you can spam basic attacks for the sake of keep your energy up. However, spamming basic attacks means you sacrify your Burst DPS and Sco/Op is NOT SO GOOD for long fights. It downs to 2 hard choices: - Burn your energy and pray that you can burst your target fast enough. - Safe your energy but cannot finish your target and pray that your teammates would come and save your petty life.
  12. Yes, you can use power/surge or crit /surge enchantments from PvE gears/old champion gears to put in BM gears to improve crit/surge/power. Yes, You wll see a huge number of Alacrity/Accuracy (204 or something like that on Sin/shadow BM and about 371in WH gears). But WH gears have better itemization stat than BM with alot crit/surge and some decent power. You can check the overall stat of BM/WH gears here. It is before the release of 1.2, but I dont think it is any different from the current live server. http://dulfy.net/2012/03/22/pvp-gearing-in-1-2/#3
  13. Have you seen a whole imps guild camps the event vendor on Tatoonie for hours? A bunch of war Heroes facerolls 30s is not something to be proud of but suprisingly, there are alot of "non-carebears" like that in MMOs. And most of "non-care bears" are usually impolite and rude, /Spit or /laugh at newbie corpses is one of common actions of these guys. Worse is they usually /say and start talking **** about the victim. When they got pwned by victim's friends, guess what the do they start crying about unfair fights or nub this nub that. Not mention to the imbalance of Rep/Imp in most servers would make those harassment even worse. Dont you know about the Illum's center part? It haswhat exactly what you want: mix both factions in a place. Result? BW admitted the zone is a total failure and abandoned it. That is why BW tends to seperate quest zones of Rep and Imp to prevent those harassments. About why BW doesnt allow you to choose which WZ to join, it is because BW knows that some maps will be totally abandonned by players. For example, range classes have significant advantage in Voidstar (stay at the middle and shot everything moving in left and right), thus melee classes would not join this map. Another example is Huttball, sin/shadow has crazy advantage in this map (sprint, pull, bubble), classes with less utilites would unlikely join this map. BW wants players to experience all the maps, random map pop is annoying but it is a correct method in some ways.
  14. As i remember, Crit rate soft cap is about 40%. Surge is about 80%.Those were from pre 1.2, iI dont know if BW changed it or not. Basicly, If you are a healer, stack alacrity (faster casting = win), primary, then power. If you are a DPS, stack crit (best to keep it around 30%), surge (75%+ crit dmg), power then primary (it contributes to both dps and crit. However, you have to stack like 60+ of primary stat to see any significant improvement of your dps/crit chance)
  15. Spam more basic attacks and problem is solve...Oh wait! Half of you attacks will be miss/deflected. Put jking aside, the energy management post 1.2 is much harder for Concealment/Scrapper, since backblast/backstab with 2 GCDs longer makes you spam more quickshot/overload shot (it has decent dmg, does not miss as much as basic attacks, and less costly than grenade but still expensive to use) to fill that 2 GCDs and BW also nerfed Pugnacity/Stim boost energy regen rate (1.5 down to 1). The longer the fight is, the harder it is to manage your energy bar.
  16. "Scrapbones" means a mix of Sawbones and Scrapper since pure Scrapper is ...kind of suck post 1.2 (the third nerf to this tree), while Sawbones got buffed (some says it got some stealth nerfed on the instant healing skill but I dont play healing so I am not sure about that). Well, the mix of both tree will give you alot more survivability (acess to advance healing skills) but you will lose some dps and few tools defining a true Scrapper (Flechette Round, K.O, Flee the Scence, etc.) As a pure Scrapper, I think it is not totally useless but it has a big issue of resource management, and skills' fluidity post 1.2. Moreover, the old issue of lack of team utility , and survivabilty is still there. That is why the guy above said you should delete your scoundrel because sooner or later you will get frustrating with the class in both PvE and PvP.
  17. You have extra expertise as compensation for missing Cunning. Well, its not as bad as DPS scoundrel set, it gives you a huge number of Accuracy. O.o
  18. That is weird. Im a Sco. Whenever I try to plant a bomb in Voidstar in stealth, the system would say "you must be out of stealth to plant the bomb" and it will not allow me to plant it until I de-stealth myself. Same thing with turrets in the Civil War, and objective points in Coast. For the objective exploit, not only Voidstar but It can also happen in Civil War. At least, i have seen a sin took over the middle turret while he was in stealth once. IMO, I do not think it is a legal move since the system asks stealthers to de-stealth before to able to interact with the objective point. And if for any reason, the stealther can interact with objective point while in stealth, It only means that he/she must use some third party tools or exploit some bugs to do that.
  19. Who else can setup everything before get their big shot off? The answer is everyone. It is not like any other classes cannot use stim/adrenal, short term buffs, etc during the combat or before the combat or after the combat. You said you also have a rank 60 Conceal Ops and yet you dont have any understanding about how it works. So I believe that you just make up things to satisfy your rage. Take a breath and calm down.
  20. Laceration/Sucker Punch does have cd since they are only available with Tactic/Upper Hand FYI, these are active skills that might proc Tactic/Upper Hand for Laceration/Sucker Punch : - Shoot First/Jarring Strike ( 7.5 s cd + stealth) provides 2 Tactic/Upper Hand. - Blastwhip/Shiv (6 s cd) provides 1Tactic/Upper Hand - Underworld med/Kolto Injection provides 1 Tactic/Upper Hand (25 energy+ 2 s casting time = impossible to spam during an intense fight) So with Round Two/Tactical Opportunity which add another Tactic/Upper Hand upon a 50% proc on bleeding target every 10 s, Sco/Op theorically can spam at max 4 Laceration / Sucker Punch in 6 seconds after opening from Stealth. After that, they are only able to spam at max 2 Laceration / Sucker Punch every 6 seconds. So it is impossible to spam it over, over and over ike you said. Furthermore, 3-4k hit from Laceration/Sucker Punch means you are just undergeared compared to that Sco/Op.
  21. Flechette/acid Blade energy cost increases by 2. Backblast/backstab energy cost increases by 5. Turns the Table/Culling passive energy regen buff for Pugnacity/Stim boost decreases by 0.5. And since Backblast/backstab cd increases by 3 seconds = 2 GCDs = 2 Quickshots which costs 17 energy each - 34 energy in total or 1/3 of energy bar. Sco/Op would run out of energy before they can even use the second Backblast/Backstab. The only solution is spamming more basic attack which just gimps down the DPS of Sco/Op since half of it is negated by Miss/Deflect (If you can miss PvE weak mobs with 98% accuracy, then in PvP, it is just hopeless)and the other half is mitigated by armors.
  22. I know he is a most-hated bastard in SW. Sadly, he is just a bastard.
  23. BM/Champion set bonus is stuck with the gears, and the same thing with Rakata/Columi set bonus. Good thing about this is now you can put PvP mods into Rakata/Columi gears but still keep PvE set Bonus. Only War Hero and Campaign set bonus go with the armoring mods. And in both case, armoring mod is bound to a specific slot, which means you are only able to move armoring mods from gloves to gloves, chest to chest, etc.
  24. The problem is with the SAME GEARS (let say full BM as the indicator), we are underperforming compared to other DPS classes(Hit less, bad survivability). Simple as that.
