I've been reading comments since 6.0 released and I saw someone mention the devs wanted more feedbacks (from live) for crafting before doing changes. I attribute it to the lack of developers personally, they spent too much time on spoil of wars item drops and sets (and even then some of it is bugged) and didn't have enough time/resources to do the same for the crafting/materials part. 6.0 probably needed a few more weeks in the oven.
Saying that, I think people might have missed some of the changes (well unless they are bugs). Yesterday, I played my first flashpoint since 6.0 dropped: The Esseles in story mode on a new JK (level 17 when starting it). All the bosses but one (who dropped nothing) dropped a grade 11 material satchels (which can't be opened it seems, there is a thread in the bug forum for it). The last boss even dropped processed isotopes stabilizers which should only drop from master flashpoint. Kinda hard to tell if there is a bug or they purposely changed the loot table for 6.0 as they know their recipe material requirements are crazy.
