  1. I've done fairly well so far, so it has been really frustrating to get stopped at this walker fight. I've been here for hours trying every way I could think of. No matter what I do, I die first. I've read and appreciated the comments here and have tried them, with limited success. I can't even abort and come back later, as there seems to be no way out of this walker until I'm finished. I can understand SWTOR wanting to give us a challenge, but let's make it reasonable, please. The walker moves so slowly, it's hard to get out of the red, and my 'tools' don't seem to do much damage. When I divert to get the adds, the walker really takes my health down.
  2. I liked SWTOR, it was challenging, and interesting. I was in a nice guild that did OPS regularly, teaching the various ops so you could even do PUGS, cause you knew what you were doing. I even had two accounts subscribed so I could have all the classes and crew skills. But then everything started to change. My guild decided (because the game was changing) that unless you could be active and sign up for ops on a weekly basis, you needed to find a new guild. My life isn't that programmed. I can't insure that I can be at a certain place at a certain time each week, so I had to leave and haven't done an ops since. Sad, 'cause it was fun and helped me get geared. Then more changed...all the stats were taken away from our companions, then the companions were taken away, now the gear is being taken away because it has to be earned in Arenas, starfighter, and warzones...I do not (never have, never will) do any of those. So...no new gear. All the cinematics make for a lot of solo playing....and it seems like most of the time you're just watching them instead of playing. The game has gotten less and less interesting. I dropped one account ( no need for it anymore), and recently I've taken a long holiday from the game. Now, I'm ready to just forget it completely. Sorry...you guys really had a good game, but you've ruined it.

I really don't like the 'chapters', especially when it automatically takes you from one to the other without a break. I mean there are an unlimited number of planets that you could do quests on to expand. The game has gotten less and less interesting. I dropped one account ( no need for it anymore), and recently I took a long holiday from the game, came back and found more changes, none of them good. So I'm ready to just forget it completely. Sorry...you guys really had a good game, but you've ruined it.
  4. I've been running these missions regularly for weeks, not one single sterilization kit. So, although I have purple patterns, I can not make them. Very frustrating. There are other items on other missions...like underworld goods, where I have the same problem. It's very hard to get purple patterns in the first place....you waste SO many mats!.....but then to never be able to make them.....pisses you off.
  5. I have no problem with others not being able to see my dps, except, as someone mentioned, if you don't know how you're doing in comparison to others, does it help you improve? My main problem is that, unlike WOW, I have no idea what my DPS is, and whether or not I can tweak something to make it better, or not. How can we improve our dps if we have no idea how we're doing? HOWEVER, there must be some way of seeing DPS, because I've seem players told that their DPS sucks...how do they know? It seems to me that as you level, you should try and improve, but you need tools to enable you to do that; a dps meter would be a good tool. Yes, I do use Ask Mr Robot, noxxic and MaxDPS sites to help me gear appropriately.
  6. The problem I have is....I've been in a number of groups where I'm told I don't have enough dps, but without an addon, like recount, I have no idea what my dps is, and I often wonder how the people complaining know. I would like to have something like recount so that I can see what my dps is, and work to improve it. As it is, I have no idea if I'm doing well, or not. maybe a different rotation would net better results, but...how am I to know? I know I do fine in questing, but it is really annoying to be told I need to do better in instances, and not know how to address it. As for healing, I really miss the addon I'm used to in WoW, but, I have to admit, I'm able to heal just fine without it. It's just a lot less hectic with it.
  7. having been on wow forever, I'm used to addons and rely on them. I am a sage, healer specced, but it's to heal myself or a questing partner; I refuse to heal others as long as there are no addons, as I don't feel I can do a sufficient job at it. call me lazy, if you like...doesn't bother me. in heroics or instances with more than just one partner, I will dps instead. I have yet to be in an heroic with a 'healer' who could heal worth while (i.e., who could keep the team up). there is no recount either, so I have no idea what I'm doing for dps. without mods like recount, how can you improve your dps? you have nothing to gauge it by. so, bottom line....I don't worry about healing or dpsing as long as I have no way to judge or to improve those skills. I just do what I have to do to complete the quests and continue to level. I assume that once the game has matured a bit, there will be addons and then I can work on improving my skills. If that doesn't happen by the time I've reached 50, I will probably leave the game, as I won't feel able to do anything more difficult, like raiding..so there would probably be no reason to stay.
  8. Been playing SW:ToR for a month now, and I'd like to share some thoughts: 1)My NUMBER ONE PROBLEM, after a month here, is movement in the game. I am STILL not able to move smoothly (I naively thought that, at worst, there would be a learning curve, but....). Never had a problem in any other game...and I've played quite a few. PLEASE PLEASE fix this! I move like I am drunk, smashing into walls, going over the edge, etc. AND in instances or on the ship, where there seems to always be LAG, it's pathetic. If there is something I can do on my end, PLEASE let me know! 2) the interface is difficult. whenever I'm in a fight, the companions skills take over my lower bar, where all the stuff I need to have access to, is. annoying as hell. how about a couple more action bars? 3) I would like to set up a second account for two-boxing, but was just told by billing that it needs two separate email addresses, and the whole 9 yards. I have an authenticator, so I guess two of those as well. Since it means double the payment monthly, I would think you would make this more user-friendly. On World of Warcraft (the only mmo that I've double-boxed on) when you enter, you chose which account to be on, then enter that info, but everything is set up as one account. 4) the log in time is really long. Is there some way that you can shorten that? I log in and out of various toons to swap crafting mats, etc. and it's really time-consuming. I have a pretty good machine, so I don't think it's that. 5) suppose it might be possible to put more modification machines in? Couldn't find any on Taris, finally did find one on nar shadaa. Lots of them on Coruscant. Found one on Republic Fleet. It's nice to be able to upgrade often (especially once you've gotten orange items that are upgradable) without having to get on your ship and go back to Corscant each time. 6) since it's not likely that I'll get 40,000 credits for a license plus another 8K or so for the speeder any time soon...maybe never! it would be really nice if we could buy a speeder and the license for real money from an online store...or are you trying to promote gold farmers? Each quest seems to run me all over the place, a speeder would be great, but at that cost it's not even a dream! You have one included in the $150 collector's edition (I don't believe that includes a license), so you obviously have the way to do it. It would be nice if you could get at the online store. 7) Although I've been playing mmos for years, I'm obviously not a great player, since I'm finding I have to be a good two levels higher than the quest level in order to do them. For one thing, if the quest is 16, let's say, you can count on there being a 17 elite that you have to kill in it. I assume you just wanted it to be challenging. 8) the companions are nice...especially for crafting..but I seldom use mine for combat as they aggro everything. I just know that I'll have to kill everything anywhere in sight; they have an aggro radius the size of Montana. Consequently, I dismiss mine most of the time. Keeping on passive helps, but easier to just not use them. I've enjoyed the game. I think, once some of the bugs are worked out, it will be successful. Still having the problem of shooting and shooting and nothing happening...and dying. But, I know you're working on that, and it did get a better after this last patch, but was much worse the patch before that. So, you're heading in the right direction I think. I know you have your hands full at the moment, getting the bugs worked out. These were just suggestions and / or thoughts based on what I've seen so far.
  9. Having played a number of other MMOs, and video games, I am appalled at how rough the movement is in SW:ToR. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the new game, I think that most of it is really awesome, fun, & challenging, but....movement is horrible. I run like someone drunk, am always running off buildings, into walls, etc. and movement on board the ship, where you have tight corners and little space, is incredibly awful. I have a pretty good machine, enough RAM, good video card...so I don't think it's my machine...nor have I had any of these problems on other games. I wish I knew what the problem was, so I could fix it. I'm assuming it's something the developers need to fix. Not only that, but on ship, you can hear the clunk of the boots walking, a number of seconds before there is any movement of the character at all, which is a bit strange. Since the game is so fantastic in so many other ways, I sincerely hope that they can get this matter resolved. If there is anything on my end I can do...reset graphics...or whatever...please let me know. thanks!
