  1. Well, I created a ticket in game, and they closed it saying "There is nothing wrong with the account". I've confirmed with my fiance that she is in fact subscribed and her payment has been added. On my account page though it still shows her as "11 days left to subscribe" with no rewards.
  2. Okay thank you, I'll create an in game ticket
  3. Hi All, My fiance recently clicked my referral link, and then subbed immediately after. She is now a subscriber but I noticed that I still haven't gotten any rewards for it. On my referral page it still says she has "12 days left to Subscribe." Is this expected? Thanks
  4. I'm a bit confused about something. A friend of mine used my referral link and got 14 days of sub time. She shortly afterwards bought a 30 day recurring subscription. Now she's frustrated because she wanted full sub access immediately but it appears they aren't going to charge her card and grant her full subscription status until after those initial free sub days, but it's still very limiting. (i.e. can't queue crew skills, customization limitations, etc.). Am I understanding this properly, is there no way for her to achieve full subscriber status until the referral days run out?
  5. I was slightly disappointed by the 500cc, but I think those that are upset due to entitlement issues are a small vocal minority compared to those like me (assuming others like me exist), who are just unsure of the future of the game and whether or not a $15 subscription is money well spent or not. I suppose it could be a form of self inflicted expectations, but I don't believe so. I don't "expect" anything from a game, I "hope" that they continue to make me feel like a valued customer. Following large layoffs and a heavy focus on cartel market fluff, I am skeptical that this game and the rate at which content (w/out additional cost to subscribers) is produced is worth subscribing too in the long term. This is the only reason for my disappointment at the 500cc as a "subscriber appreciation". While I appreciate the thought, I'm more interested in hearing how subscriber dollars are being used to create additional content. I want to hear from the developers how excited they are for the future of SWTOR and why I should be too. This is something that I am not seeing, at least in my opinion.
  6. I believe that those who are disappointed are representing their case rather poorly with all this talk of "gratefulness", when being thankful or receiving gifts have nothing to do with it in my opinion. If you all would allow me I'd like to give my two cents: I think the problem stems with the game's F2P model. I say this because there are models that exist in the market today that do not add such a vast amount of restrictions and limitations to the free players that this game does. Having a F2P model combined with a subscription option is very tricky to pull off because it really is all about perception of the value of what is being paid for. Bioware/EA went the route of severely limiting the game play of the free players, making it more of an extended trial. Subscribers, as a result, are left with the base game. Okay, so on some level this makes sense right? However, I have said it is largely based on perception. Bioware/EA have focused heavily on the cartel market, shortly after laying off many developers. This sets an uneasy precedent for subscribers as it leaves the future of this game in question. Can Bioware release content at a reasonable rate? Will we continue to get paid expansions that are arguably lacking in content (when compared to the "expansions" of other MMOs)? The disappointment here lies with the future of this MMO for subscribers, and how our money is being put to use in the company and the future of this game. Providing us with 500cc for the market is commendable, and is a very nice thought, but doesn't change the underlying perception of the game's future. Apologies for the rant, but one last thought; there is a large difference in how players want the money to be spent on this game: 1.) F2P players who spend money on the cartel market want BW to spend that money developing content for the Cartel Market. 2.) Subscribers want their subscription money to be spent on new, free content that they can play, and free items they can acquire. Unless there is an equal and significant amount of each, a division between the players will remain. EDIT: Also, apologies if this logic doesn't flow very well or some things didn't come off correctly. I'm not proofreading and am really just putting thoughts in writing as they come.
  7. You're kidding me. So, I have been looking forward to this feature as it added some needed customizability. (Jedi using lightning, pretty darn cool.) But now I hear that you HAVE to have a companion with you and you HAVE TO BLOW that 20 minute cool down to even use it. So this has becoming more of a novelty leveling feature than anything really lasting. Complete ********.
  8. This is how I feel. Before certain patches I have had absolutely zero issues. However ever since 1.1 I have had issues with PvP crashing every now and then.
  9. Very true, I am not saying that I am completely knowledgeable, I still have a lot to learn. I was simply defending the accusation that I know nothing. But you're right, I have taken a couple courses in IT environments and networking that I did well in, but I certainly haven't covered a lot yet. Anyways, My video card: ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series Driver Version: 8.911.0.0 My system has access to 8 gigs of RAM I am running x64 Vista
  10. This is possible. I do not have windows 7 yet and this may very well be the issue. However my fiance does have windows 7 and she experiences the same problem. I'll take a look into this and get back to you. Thanks for the response.
  11. I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and I am fairly certain I know a bit about my hardware considering I built my system myself. Whether or not you believe is really not my issue. I welcome your feedback, however instead of being a mindless 12 year old you could have just stated your response in the following way: "I personally think that the issue is on your end as I have never experienced this issue." See how easy that was? My counter evidence is as follows: We have two, fairly high end systems that are both fully updated and contain no malware software. While it is not impossible that the issue is on our end, I find the probability fairly low. Thank you for reading
  12. Hi Everyone! I, as well as many others, have been very patient ever since I discovered the game years ago. I followed the game from the ground up, and even played a bit of beta here and there. While I expected more from a Star Wars MMO, I still have always had high hopes for this game. Despite all the bugs, the game is really not bad, and honestly probably the only MMO in a long while that can really hold its ground in this competitive market. However, as a player and as an independent game developer myself, I cannot and will not tolerate a game that consistently crashes to desktop. I am placing this in the PvP forums, due to the fact that this seems to occur only in PvP. The situation is as follows; Imagine you are enjoying a fine warzone, or engaging in some friendly Ilum PvP. The lag in world PvP may be horrendous, but we deal with these issues simply because we realize that the first few months of an MMO launch is a slippery and scary road. I understand that there will be fixes needed and improvements made, which is why I have stuck with this game. However, I am now at a point that both my fiance and myself crash to the desktop on a fairly consistent basis. When I say consistent, I probably mean around 20 - 25% of the time when PvP'ing for an extended period of time. I know there are others who feel different, however to me at least this is completely unacceptable. Both of our machines are fully capable of running this game on any settings we wish, so we do not feel this is a factor. This is the first game I have ever played that crashed to desktop on such a regular basis, and I cannot help but feel cheated out of my money each and every time it occurs. I do not know the solution to this problem, and I realize it is probably very complicated and will take time to correct. However, I am beginning to feel that the game should not have been released in a state that would cause this sort of behavior. Obviously, there isn't a specific entity I can blame. I don't know whether this overlook is a developer or a management issue, however I can say safely that if this is not resolved within the next couple patches I will be removing my subscription. I realize that the threat of subscription cancellation from a single user is laughable, and I realize it won't change or motivate the developers to review their future procedures. However I encourage you all to sign this thread in an attempt to show EA/Bioware that as customers, there is a limit to what we will accept. There are plenty of other amazing games out there, and unless you are truly committed to providing a high quality product, your game will not be among them. Thanks for your time. TL;DR If you want to inform EA and Bioware that we will not accept poorly implemented products, please take a few seconds to sign this thread and state your concerns.
